If Mattel has not resolved the defect we identified with our rocket cannon by replacing the air compressor mechanism with a more durable one, the purchase of this toy is definitely not recommended. This would otherwise be a pretty neat toy.

If you are having trouble with the cannon firing, call Mattel first before returning your N.S.E.C.T. Robotic Attack Insect, as it may need the black darts as opposed to the white ones, which they will ship free of charge. Yes, it's a bummer to have to wait for the new darts to fire the cannon. Also, we found the need for extra batteries fairly quickly. Overall though, it is very entertaining for both young ones and grown ups.

I have to tell you about this great new toy my son got for his birthday this morning. It is called N.S.E.C.T Robotic Attack Insect and it is made by Tyco, the new competitor to the makers of Robosapien.

The N.S.E.C.T makes the Robosapien look dated, although it is still similar as in using the same technology. I believe the N.S.E.C.T is based on the 1985 Micheal Crichton film Runaway with its big scary bug design, which scurries around at speed making an eerie sound, as it does so. It also h ...
