I was given this radio as a present and it has always been temperamental. It would work OK for a while and then drop the connection. Then it started dropping it every time you go to us it. Now it can't find any connection even though the aerial is right in front of it and my phone is connected all the time. (read more)

For 40 quid this was an amazing buy , since I changed my wifi router from a Belkin to Zyxel it all works perfectly . Wife listens to the Archers Omnibus every day on BBC listen again . Yes it would be better with an ethernet socket so I could use a Homeplug but I have no regrets (read more)

My Logik radio died and I found a guy via the Reciva website who repaired it for a reasonable price and returned my wonderful radio back to me, I so missed it when it died. email steve at ir100 at avtsuk.com He has also repaired a friends BT Internet Radio I think my Logik sounds better though. The Logik IR100 Internet Radio is no longer available anyway BUT
after one year of perfect working it just stopped connecting with one error message - apparently there is a dongle inside which may need to be taken out of the USB slot and then put in again. This fix didn't work in my case so
a duff purchase over the mid term.

I quite like it. Got over the irritations: stand-by hum, slow connection and set-up processes, plain appearance, hard-to-see tuning window and alleged crumby internal construction.
It is fantastic to have a few favourite overseas stations at hand 'loud and clear' at the flick of a switch with no noise or fading and I have become very fond of it and would buy another Logik IR100 Internet Radio if it broke.

Complete waste of money. Has such limited range from the router. I have a G plus MIMO router which runs the laptops all round the house but the Logik IR100 internet radio has to be within a few feet to work properly without constant buffering. Wish I had never bought it. (read more)

I've had my Logik IR100 Internet Radio for 18 months, and it's given me countless hours of pleasure. Yes, it hums when on standby, but it's extremely easy to set up and use, and is fully compatible with the Reciva website, which means that you can store a number of favourite stations (much more than 5, might even be unlimited) for easy access. I bought this Logik IR100 Internet Radio, upgrading from 6 DAB radios (I like a choice of stations!) and have not regretted it.
Being a huge Blues fan I am able to surf the net and choose any blues channel I fancy.
I'm thrilled with it, have owned it for about 3 months and am looking for its twin so I can have music wherever I go!!!

I have owned this radio for about 3 months and owning 6 DAB radios was able to make a true comparison. - No contest!!! I'm an avid blues fan and the Logic IR100 gives me a very wide choice of stations to suit my mood. I'm selling my DAB radios and will be buying a second Logic R100 if I can find one - I've been searching and can't find one!!!
It's a great buy and I don't have the hum or clicks other reviewers describe - perhaps positioning is crucial?
If you see it, buy it - or let me know...

Received my Logik R100 just over a week ago and was surprised how easy it detected my WiFi. It was soon up and running with thousands of channels to choose. BUT, I use it as a radio alarm and I noticed straight away some hum when on standby - also even more hum when in normal use. The first problem wouldn't be so bad maybe if it wasn't right next to me on my bedside cabinet. So - I took it apart and had a look inside. You have to put this in context - the Logik IR100 Internet Radio is a product that lets you listen in good quality and pretty reliably to around 5000 radio stations worldwide and it costs around £40 that sounds a pretty good deal and it is. i have had mine for around 18 months and its been great. There were apparently issues with a distracting 'hum' on these units and indeed when the set is on standby alongside the bed you can just about hear it (strangely it only appeared when we moved... If you take the time to find the workaround for the antenna problem which really just involves buying a short USB cable, removing the antenna which is simply a dongle, plugging in the USB cable, relocating the antenna to the end of this and fixing the antenna to the outside rear of the casing then you will have 100% better reception. Doing all this and covering the antenna with a piece of plastic to protect it took 30 minutes tops and I am NOT particularly technical. (read more)

It only worked one evening out of three and it is going back to Currys. "Connecting... connecting.... connecting...." I hadn't realised that "Realplayer Enabled" meant Realplayer powered and, of course, being Realplayer, it just doesn't work. Sometimes, instead of not connecting, it connected but then there was no sound. (read more)

For the £40 or so I paid for this its a good budget buy. It serves well as a kitchen radio, but you need to go for the Roberts unit for top quality at £200 approx, which I will do eventually.
Cant complain for the money.

This is a really nice receiver for the office or home worker. It would benefit from inclusion of an ethernet port and perhaps a jack for connection of a stereo speaker. Over all, it is worth the £65 GBP I paid for it. (read more)

A cheap and cheerful unit for the internet radio beginner, but crippled by its inability to play DRM encoded files, even though Windows Media Player 11 now permits such media sharing! I suspect this is an obsolete model and will be shortly withdrawn from sale! (read more)

The design anyway should have included a chip which memorises the WEP and other settings when mains supply is switched off .Even when it could stay on the router it had to be reset everytime it was moved around the flat .Poor quality electronic design and user interface. Why do these radios also have to be so big and clumsy why not battery powered like small DAB portables? (read more)

I've been wanting a Logik IR100 Internet Radio for ages and when I saw one for £39.99 I couldn't resist it. The price has certainly dropped recently, perhaps there's a new model coming along?
From getting the device out the box to listening to music was literally 5 minutes but then I know what I'm doing with wireless kit. Should be easy enough for just about anyone to set up, and if you get stuck there's loads of help on the internet.
Only trouble I've had with it so far is the main input...

Two things, 1st where did you buy it from? 2nd can you listen to any radio station worldwide that also broadcasts on the internet or is it like Dab and you only get a small selection of stations.

Over all great piece of kit - prices are coming down, in some ways better than having a DAB. Great sound, nice big switches, a real fun piece of kit, clear sound - a bit fiddly to set up if you aren't sure what you are doing - and of course if the streaming goes down!
There is a very slight mains hum but nothing to audible

I love this device. Took a bit of a punt but do not regret it. A bit of a fiddle to set up but mainly trial and error, and definitely worth the effort.
I have a reasonably large music collection and the upnp server method is by far the easiest way to stream music - just edit the settings in media player 11 on the pc, adjust the firewall settings and off you go!

Easy to setup*, loads of radio stations - always being updated - plus the ability to stream audio from a PC. It has a basic alarm clock feature (1 alarm) plus a sleep timer. Oh, and there's no need to set the time - this unit does it automatically via the internet
If you sign up to the Reciva website (free of charge) then once you have registered your radio, you can add radio stations to your "favourites" list, and this list automatically will appear on your radio.

I really liked this device. It did everything and more that I would expect, even playing MP3 on my network machine(s). I have the radio downstairs at the opposite end of the house to my ADSL wireless Router and no connection problems (but see later). I guess I would have preferred a better preference selection of favorites like Pandora and that is a major issue in having to use Receive with no other option as far as I can tell. I have an Orange Livebox and had to go online and query Google to get the radio to connect to my Livebox. Once I had the information (put the Livebox into discovery mode by pressing button marked 1 on side of box) then it burst into life. Have read some comments that wi-fi on the radio is weak but not in my case. It seems the price that you can buy this radio at varies considerably - shop around - I have read that some have paid as little as £40! (read more)

I could not believe just how easy it was to get this thing working - I'd been prepared for a few hours of fiddling with settings, but 20 mins after plugging it in for the first time, everything was up and running. The range of stations available "out of the box" is pretty impressive, too.
On the downside, I was rather disappointed that it doesn't pick up the wifi signal unless very close to the router - it struggles in places where the laptop has no problems at all.

This is a real break through with internet radio technology, especially when you do not need to turn on your computer to operate this radio. It would be better if it had connection sockets to a hifi, although the mini stereo jack can do this job very well if required?. Logik do another model that connects to your hifi only but it would be better to combine both these features on one. Oh dear! Am I the only one that can't get this thing to work? I have tried everything, even taking all security setting of my Belkin N1, because it doesn't recognise my security passwords or different settings. It did connect to my wireless network but then, after updating the firmware, I had trouble with "DNS Server Timeout" and "Gateway Failure". It also took ages to do a Station Update From Reciva. I like my Logik. I paid £40 for it. I would have bought one sooner but I was not prepared to pay £100 for it.I recommend logging in to Reciva's website and customizing your channels. It makes it easier to browse through the channels that you like. This information is then updated onto your radio and listed under My Stuff.The design is a bit basic. My is used in the bedroom and I just love listening to stories as I drift off to sleep. (read more)

Now price of the IR100 has dropped to £39.99 it is worth buying and gives some unusual content. Prior to the price drop thought a little expensive for what it offered. Would recommend for those that enjoy stations, such as country, which are just not available from any other 'known' source. (read more)
