My husband and I went to Tangerine Beach Hotel in Sri Lanka last January, and had a wonderful three weeks. What made the holiday was our rep Adrian. He is an absolute treasure. We really wanted to go back again this January but are going to Borneo instead. I hope that the SAGA rep will be just as great as Adrian. We will not travel with anyone else now that we have found SAGA holidays to be so brilliant.

I have just returned from a week break with Saga in Cyprus. The hotel was good with clean rooms and very comfortable public areas, with lots of sitting space. Our trip was made even more enjoyable because of the rep who was resident in our hotel. He ensured that each and every guest was given individual attention, always going the extra mile to ensure that we were enjoying our holiday. During our stay, he had two guests hospitalised, and was of great support to their partners, arranging ...- Read Guest's review (137 words)

The standard of Saga holidays has fallen considerably, I have travelled with them for the last 10 years, but will not use them again. Tour managers are disinterested in holiday makers, corners have been cut with meals and quality of hotels. When one writes to Saga to complain they are not really interested in their custimers. Was disappointed with the way I have been treated when complaining about last holiday to Southern Italy and Sciliy, food was a disgrace, bed in one hotel had hole in base a ...- Read Guest's review (99 words)

Appalling adminstration system within the UK, especially with their 'hassle free' pick up service. On the outward flight, I only felt confident that I would be picked up at the right time when the taxi service called me to confirm the day before departure. On the return flight, when I arrived at Gatwick at 2.15am, I eventually discovered that the pick up service had been sent to the wrong terminal.
We flew with Thomson's Airlines - as a result of this holiday, I have decided that I will neve ...- Read Guest's review (178 words)

This was our first trip with Saga, never again. We went, on a last minute, holiday to Italy. Hotel was acceptable. Our shower had the loo in it - yes in the shower. The excursions were far too expensive. Although the brochure claimed it was suitable for walking the rep warned us off doing so. "People had frightened themselves", the rep had no decent maps and was unable to tell us where the starts were. We did not get our orientation walk and had to find bus stops etc ourselves. The final straw w ...- Read Hobbits's review (139 words)

I have just returned from Vietnam and Cambodia. The holiday was very well planned and the Saga Tour Guides were very helpful and made the tour enjoyable. This is a very tiring journey so you need a lot of stamina but you do see alot.
Stayed at very good hotels the food was good and the tour guide was very helpful. In Cambodia the temples were wonderful to see and the hotel was good even if the evening meal was limited.
The boat trip in Cambodia was not very pleasant and perhaps you saw to ...- Read Guest's review (138 words)

As a long time Saga holidaymaker I ask where the real Saga has gone > We have just spent the worst holiday ever on a Saga river cruise-MV Princess -where the hotel management was chaotic. If this is the present day Saga then never again- Read Guest's review (44 words)

2 weeks april 09 at bel jou in st lucia with Saga Holidays, hotel highly rated. staff could not be more helpful, food and service were excellent.this seems to be a result of having a fist class acting manager recently in place.he was very hands on at all times, interested in welfare of his guests- Read duncan morrison's review (113 words)

I had undertaken many overseas touring holidays but never with Saga. Last October Saga won the day with their 'Highlights of Malaysia' offering which, from their brochure, seemed to offer a good mix of accommodation and tour content. How wrong this was. The accommodation was excellent but the tour element, which is the main purpose of this type of holiday, failed to live up to even modest expectations. By way of explanation, I doubt whether many people would regard a visit to a tiny smallholding ...- Read susiepops's review (281 words)

We have just returned from a fabulous four week holiday in Sri Lanka at the Palm Bay Resort. This was our first time in using Saga Holidays to arrange our holiday and it will definitely not be the last, despite some other postings.
I have to say that I found all of the tele-sales teams were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Travel documents with full itinerary arrived promptly three weeks (despite Christmas post) prior to our departure. Every bit of our holiday was excellently ...- Read Dave Felton's review (228 words)

I had a really good holiday with them about 3 years ago. I would not risk doing any business with them now. Departure was cancelled. Fair enough, but they neglected to tell me, still reminding me to pay the balance and then taking the balance. Getting my own money back was time-consuming-3 letters and 2 phone calls. It seemed that chaos reigned across several departments. At one point, a Customer Services adviser put the phone down on me. It took a letter to the Chief Executive's office to sor ...- Read Guest's review (124 words)

If Saga Tours really want to be No1 in Sri Lanka. I suggest they contact our guide and let him be responsible for the itinerary instead of relying on a few office workers in the UK.This guide would be a must to promote tours in his own country.- Read pp001d1625's review (244 words)

What has happened to SAGA ??????
Up to this year I would have recommended them to everyone over 50 that I know. But there now seems to be this air of uninterest with their customer service staff.
Their web site is useless and generally lets you go through (sorry about the pun) the SAGA of getting to the point where they tell you there is flights and accommodation on various dates and then you put in more information and then it tells you there is nothing available.
I rang yesterday trying to ge ...- Read jeaneypeaney1's review (256 words)

As a traveller with Saga of many years I find the service has deteriorated since Roger de Haan sold off the family jewels. The older generation does not want cramped budget flights leaving at stupid o'clock! Admin has deteriorated too and all this is really about cost cutting and profit margins. Customer satisfaction, once a high priority has gone out of the window. How the mighty are fallen !!- Read Guest's review (90 words)

I have been on 5 Saga Holidays twice to Denia, to Calpe, Albir and a tour of Malaysia.
I have found them all to be excellent value. The trips were good and optional excursions were very good value compared to the price of other operators. The reps at the hotel were also very friendly and helpful. All the Spanish holidays were all inclusive and we just used the normal bars with a separate Saga lounge simply for taking a coffee and relaxing. I have not experienced any of the problems mentioned in ...- Read jlridley's review (98 words)

I felt as though we were treated as a bunch of school children, at the hotel the saga free bar was positioned under a stair well, we were expected to sit with-in the group each night under the stairs, no thank you, this was not for us.
We have only ever taken 1 saga holiday, never again, I have to agree with other peoples reviews there is little flexibility in being able to do your own thing and yes I think the company has definitely changed for the worse.- Read Guest's review (102 words)
