I do like my nokia phone, especially since it came free with my contract. The GPS System was amazing at times when I got lost and with the internet functionality I could get Google Maps not to only pinpoint my position but also to show me the way to the pub where I was meeting my friends.
There are a few anooyances, as there always are, so for example it is too easy to send a text message by accident before it is finished or go into a different menu whilst you are typing.

In general I quite like the Nokia N95 phone, it has a good camera (even though it can be a bit slow at times), a good (from what I can tell) reception and I even found use for the in-built GPS (together with Google Maps), which has helped me prevent from getting lost on gooad a many occasion.

Have had the Nokia N95 for 18 months now. Its a great phone to have.
The phone as such works brilliantly, the standby time is good and requires less charging. But this phone is not just about the talking part of it, its the other things that make this phone great.
GPS: Have used this quite often. Especially when lost in the town centres. Works great with Nokia maps (comes free with the handset). Sometimes does take a few minutes to hook up to the satellites though.
Camera: 5 mega pixel....

I've had this Nokia N95 phone now for 2 years. I've been looking for to change, but to this date, I cannot find anything close to its quality. I believe the handset was first released in the UK in March and I bought it in July. I've NEVER had a technical problem. Have been dissapointed by this Nokia N95 phone since I got it.
Navigation is hampered by softkeys that seem ultrasensitive, sending you to bizarre places every time you slightly mishit 'cancel' when trying to delete in a text message.
The clunky design, while somethign I originally liked (i'm bored of sleek wanna be futuristic designs), has a lot of edges, gaps and corners which quickly fill with dust - unpleasant.
My biggest bug bear, however, is the battery cover. Flimsy and poorly designed,...

I got the Nokia N95 8gb one as an upgrade from my service provider and overall I've been pretty pleased with it - aside from the odd positioning of the on/off key the phone itself is quite good. I would definitely recommend it it is a very good phone. A raft of features including GPS, a customizable menu feature (I prefer the list style) the office tools and so forth. The Nokia N95 has good battery life and good sound quality. I've had 3 from vodafone all same probs freezing, switching off, I felt that vodafone were poor at sorting what appears to be a common problem with the handset eg they would not supply a different make. Also said the last warranty was water damaged, I do not believe it was. I've had nokias for years probably give it another go with another model no way an n95! Have had this Nokia N95 phone for over 18 months now and absolutely love it. Contract is up but wouldn't even entertain switching to another phone. OK, some phones may be more stylish and have more advanced features but if you're looking for something which gives you the best all round package then look no further. Loved the Nokia N95 when I got it shame about all the problems as it is a decent phone. I have now had 5 N95's they all had to be sent back. Problems with freezing, turning its self off, i would never recomend anyone to get this phone. (read more)

I've had the Nokia N95 for 12 months now and apart from the battery life it's a great phone.
The camera is ace,
The video is great,
The sound quailty of the tracks and Radio is excellent,
The secondary slide is a useful feature too, it takes you straight to your music,
The maps function is excellent,
It has RealPlayer, FlashPlayer, Adobe, Zip, Office, Internet access is good too,
It can be used as a wireless router too.
The phone is just a great little piece of kit, the best phone I've had.

I have now had my Nokia N95 for 15 months. All things considered I would definitely reccomend this mobile phone to other people. I find the best thing about this phone is its ease of use.
The menu is not complicated and things are under the menu option you expect (I have had some phones where it was near impossible to fine the bluetooth settings).
The camera is excellent and takes clear and well balanced photographs with little or no blurring on moving objects. Also, I have been impressed...

Not happy with the battery life, size of the phone is too big for me, it feels like a brick in your pocket in my opinion! The Nokia N95 doesn't survive a spin in the washing machine! Therefore I do not recommend this Nokia Mobile Phone. Dont go for it if you like slimline light weight phones, not recommended.

I'd heard a lot of negativities about the Nokia N95 phone, but after wanting this phone for some months (picked Viewty instead, nuff said!) am really glad I didn't listen to those critics. It's a rock solid Nokia phone thats been reliable for me, anyway.
It's got everything I need-calendar, converter, video, mp3 player-you name it, its got it. I love the curser when online-makes browsing the net so much easier.

Nokia recognises that there is a problem with the GPS satnav system and have come up with the "assisted GPS" idea
The problem was that I found the assisted GPS was fine if you were in the city, but once you got into the countryside, rural areas then it became a problem once again.
Assisted GPS is their work-around to poor GPS satnav equipment.

Terrible battery life, kept crashing - could only restart by taking battery out and re-inserting it, battery cover kept falling off, took it back to t-mobile shop for software upgrade when it came back Nokia said they had not repaired it as it was water damaged! It certainly was not. Had to buy a PAYG handset to see me through to the end of contract. Finally by the time sat-nav had started up and planned a route, you could have walked to your destination. Last year I got the Nokia n95 as an upgrade and was initially pleased (well the first 24 hrs) and then the battery went flat. No, I didn't play any games.....when I took it back to the shop they suggested I didn't 1st charge the phone for 24 hrs and gave me a new battery. But hey same problem again and eventually after another visit within 5 days send the phone away for "repairs".

I have had the Nokia N95 now for close to a year now and everything is still as impressive as the day that I bought it. The screen is amazingly resilient and all the buttons are still functioning with full integrity. This is by far the best handheld I have had. Can't wait to check out the N96. (read more)

As a victim of the mass advertising on Nokia N95 we rushed in and got 3 of them on our account. Within 5 weeks one phone's microphone died so nobody can hear the user talking. The other two kept rebooting themselves sporadically, whether it be whilst talking, surfing the net etc. They would also freeze and only taking the battery out would correct the issue. The n95 could of been better more memory the applications run so slow you could for asleep waiting, the GPS never walks the wifi can disconnect after 10mins.
The slide mechanism is cheap and flimsy, it is not far from a house brick the N95, I would never recommend the N95 to anyone so am hoping when readers read this they change their mind.

Good phone, alot of software to get the techie to buy in! WiFi is handy and great for the first week you own the phone, but pretty useless outside your own home where a pc is a little easier.
Sat nav is pretty cool, should be some better software available soon. 3G video callings good!

Excellent, I have personally had no problems & I am extremely glad that i replaced my (far inferior) sony ericsson k850i, which I had received as a free upgrade a couple of weeks ago. The N65 has none of the cheap feel, software bugs, annoying 'touch screen' (all 1mm of it) or any more of the faults of the k850i.
Overall a great product!

I bought a Nokia N95 when they first became available because the advertising sounded like it was the best invention of the year. I think that perhaps 3 or 4 software releases down the line from where we are today it might get better but after nearly a year of using it I wish I had bought another phone. The battery life is the real killer for me, and the instability of the phone and it rebooting itself is an aggravation. (read more)

After selling my old 02 Mini XDA, I missed some of the features, and the Samsung G600 wasn't enough.
So, one free upgrade later, I plugged in a new Nokia N95 for first charge!
This one has been upgraded to the latest software, so lacks the glitches you'll see early owners suffering, and it runs perfectly!
The 5MP camera with Zeiss lens offers comparable images to a decent camera, and takes pictures far faster than the Samsung 5MP, which is sloooow.

<br/>Incidentally, have you insured your phone has the latest software upgrade? It's free, and easy to do. I have no problem transferring files by the way, and you might find using a card reader is another possibility (Remove the card from the phone, and use the card slot if your PC has one...)

Just to help understand, I did have an O2 Orbit, touch screen and installed Co-Pilot live on it. Everything was perfect but I was due an upgrade and went for the Nokia N95 as it had similar features albeit without touch screen. The camera was better and the screen similar. I have had Nokia twice before and was pleased with the O2 and when I went back to the N95 finding my way around is so awkward - just setting an alarm the other day took ages, unlike the orbit where I have much more ability... Being an Nokia user I purchased the Nokia N95 new unbranded and unlocked 6 months ago - what a disappointment. The phone works great as a standard phone, sms, MP3, etc but to use the majority of features can be frustrating and slow. In fact, I took the phone to the local Nokia store just in case it had a error, unfortunately this was not the case! As you can guess from my above points, im not too happy with my Nokia N95.
This phone (first impressions) was in fact very positive (to begin with). To put it short, it does everything!
* MP3 + MP4 player
*5 mega pixel camera
* Sat nav
* camcorder quality video recording
* Big display
* Live internet browsing
* Easy to work with (compared to other Mobiles of the same ability)

I disagree with this review because it sounds like you got a faulty phone. I have had my N95 since it came out over a year ago and never ever had a problem with it. Yes it was a bit slow and froze sometimes but that was until the upgrade!!!!!!!

I would agree with your review however after almost 3 months of ownership my N95 has started to turn itself of for no reason. I also have difficulty in transferring files both to and from my phone. In particular I have a Video which I had taken on my old Samsung D600 which when I transferred both by bluetooth and via my PC the quality is awful and it will not play without the picture or sound freezing every 10 seconds or so. Apart from these points it is as you say a fantastic phone and I will be looking at the N96 when my 12 month contract is up.
