“Don't do it”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Mike048 on 05/01/2023

Without prejudice I'm not satisfied with botb, all those years I've played I've seen the same player win a car twice for him and her. 3 wins in a row from Africa; 2 dream car 1 mid week:dream car 602,603 mid week 77. Even a wood logger from brazil who gets trees from the amazon rain forest. An judge changed because he disagreed where the ball is. I've seen the ball put in unscrupulous places even behind the head and many times winners are business men/women with famous names. There is always an annual Scottish win 2 times in 1 week; I don't like playing for game credit but that's all you get taken off your play and no end of loosing, better off saving for your dream car or get it on credit! Many cheap cars are won I don't call dream cars, nor TV gaming stuff/exspensive watches Mostly Harley road king are won of the motor bikes, won seldomly, check with their winners midweek competitions.Botb were too quick to knock my silver to bronze membership then nothing. I don't trust them at all, i know my cards have been marked and they've played me too. I do research what I wrote botb your the one with misinformation I've played long enough to know and if there is anyone rich wanting to see look this review via trustpilot and I will dig up all what I wrote to confirm it!

It's like the blind leading the blind as soon as you realise and stop doing it the better for your mind, stop gambling or dreaming of winning such things in competitions or lotteries that are not worth the paper they're printed on. Stop fooling yourself and live your life.

“Not a game of skill or even luck.”

Lining up the eyes of the players is useless. You are guessing where the judges would think the ball is, not where the ball is according to the players eyes. Plus the judges are not professionals if they were they would all pick in the same area instead of all over the place.BOTB is a company listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange they keep saying. Please google AIM and you will find lists of companies listed on the AIM market caught for fraud that have been operating for longer than BOTB. People are catching on. BOTB share prices down 70% in the last 6 months.

This is not a true spot the ball compition. It's a compition of guess the adveridge of were the so call expert judges place the ball. I have been playing every week for some 8 years and spent thousands nd never even had a runners up. To be very honest with you I am not convinced this is not fixed every week. Before you play just look at some of the judges placements you will find them shocking.

“Judges Judges Judges ”

★★★☆☆

written by williamwindsor555 on 08/03/2016

The Judges who determine as to where the centre of the ball is really can be way off some weeks that's my opinion after playing for many years and getting very close just the once. I always look at the results and this week ! week 9 the eyes of the player were most definitely looking up and further to the right so i'm guessing someone maybe had a few too many vinos over the weekend. Might win one day but I will not hold my breath looking at this weeks results but good luck to the young man at British Airospace .

“Best of the Best - Brilliant Competition & 100% Legit!”

★★★★★

written by SteveMcL on 22/06/2015

I started playing this competition in 2011, not very often, but increased my frequency during last year when they introduced games every two weeks and then every week. In January 2015 I won a Jaguar F-Type + £10,000 cash. I was able to order a brand new car to my spec. and I collected the car in March. After I won, most of my family & friends were amazed at my luck because they'd never heard of anyone winning a competition like this. I referred some of them to BotB and they then started playing. I referred my wife also and amazingly she also won a car (Aston Martin + £10,000 cash) 6 months after my win. Inevitably there were many people shouting 'fix' and accusing us of being friends of BotB or of being affiliated in some way. Well we're not. Obviously we've met Will (the founder of BotB) and his team and they are all a great bunch of people. I wish other companies would have the same level of friendliness and customer service as BotB. My advice? Quit griping, you're not guaranteed a win, the same as in any other competition, but you have the same chance as everyone else who enters. Any questions? Contact BotB and they'll be happy to help. Any more questions? Reply to this post and I'll be happy to expand on my experiences with BotB.

Hi I would be interested to know more, I have been playing recently and the last two weeks have got very close. I'm interested to know what do they do with the car in terms of they show up with one, but is that your one, or do you order a brand new? Then is it with a basic spec for that model? I see on the website you and your other half won - bet the rest of the street are impressed!!

Hi...when they surprise you they bring a demo car from the dealer and you get to order a brand new one. The car values on the BotB website are the base dealer prices so you would have to pay for any optional extras over and above that which is why it's always a good idea to tick the £10,000 box. When I won they couldn't get a coupe at short notice so they brought the convertible instead. Good luck with the competition.

Why did you bother writing this review if you won what does it matter what botb.com appear to other people. Your another one I find suspicious in writing this for botb.com benefit obviously that was the idea. I don't believe you are not connected in some way and I don't believe a word you said I have been doing it for years and all I won is a sat nav. I don't recommend them they're clever in taking your money and judging who they want to win. I played a load of tickets to win the sat nav and was living in North of England. I lost more than I won so I got played. Read my other reviews about botb.com and my comments, you can't go wrong!

Hi...as you are 16 you are eligible to enter as the minimum age is 16.
So I don't think there would be a problem if you wanted to give the car to your dad. You could always take the cash alternative instead of the car.
Good luck.

“Too good to be true!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by dannymullered on 19/05/2015

The following statement comes from their FAQ section "We are proud to say that to date we have given away over £17 million worth of prizes to over 400 winners of luxurious prizes from around the world. Want to see all the Dream Car winners? Head to our winners wall!" 400 winners of luxury prizes averages approximately 25/26 winners a year. Sounds good so far. However, £17m divided by 400 equals just £42,500. That is the 'average' prize for each of their 400 winners. So much for luxury. You are definitely better off playing a scratchcard. It is a rip off!

Botb's Response to dannymullered's Review

Written on: 16/12/2015

Hi Danny,

Your maths is correct but the important thing to note is that the 400 winners haven't all been cars. We used to run handbag competitions in the airports, as well as gadgets and other prizes.

For cars only (which is why we say "prizes") it's coming on 300 winners as of the writing of this comment, and more every week since we moved to a guaranteed winner every week in November 2014. The average value of car won (inclusive of any cash that has come with it) in 2015 has been £72,945.

The competition exists to give normal people access to their dream car, without having to spend large amounts of money. £72,945 is (by accounts of our active community and regular players) a very luxurious car.

Look, I have been playing on and off for about a year...Its an exciting game, and with all games, there can't be more than one winner. The game is so much fun, and exciting. I love seeing other people win...I get so excited along with them, and I even tear up too! The game is worth every entry. I will continue to play, and enjoy myself. Don't listen to all the negative vibe, just play and see for yourself just how much fun it is. Its wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Publishers Clearing House, and your chances of winning are greater...

“Don't waste you money”

★★☆☆☆

written by eyadom on 04/03/2015

I have been playing with BOTB for the last 4 years, bought over a thousand tickets. during this time I never won. I have been very close to the correct position on few occasions, but there have been always somebody a 1 or 2 pixels closer than me. I don't think it is a fake, but there is no guarantee that the closer winning number is not added later on to the database of tickets bought, after the judging. I eventually decided to get a finance and buy myself an affordable supercar. My advice: fake or not, don't waste you money. want a car, go and buy a car.

Botb's Response to eyadom's Review

Written on: 16/12/2015

Hi Eyadom, thanks for your review.

The competition exists to be able to give access to people that can't otherwise afford these cars. If you can afford it (via finance or otherwise) then go for it, after all, that's your dream car. Make sure you stop by and show it off though!

We have the following guarantees in place for the transparency of the competition and judging: all of the competition data is passed to independent auditors before the judging begins. Which means that when the winning coordinates are chosen by the judges, in witness of another independent lawyer, the data and winning coordinates are already out of BOTB's hands. The coordinates are passed to the auditor via the lawyer's confirmed coordinates and the auditors advise as to who the winner is, providing a letter confirming these details.

We have had winners who have played once and won and winners who have played for years. Playing for a long period doesn't guarantee you win, but you do get better at spot the ball. Also, we hope you have some fun in the process!

Happy to answer any more questions

“Get over it, bitter losers!”

★★★★★

written by 103Watkins on 02/03/2015

No I'm not a friend, employee or associate of BOTB. I'm a regular guy who likes to play a games of loaded chance, to win a dream car for less than the price of a McDonald's!! These guys are established, transparent and offer great fun. A car IS won every week, it's not always going to be a supercar as the majority of tickets are bought for a lower entry cost. Do you really think in your wildest dreams that such a proposition, if corrupt, could operate so long and in such public view without any investigation or exposure. BAA are involved heavily with BOTB, you really think any authority concerned with airports and security would risk getting involved with a corrupt private business? Chances are, these people who are claims wrongdoing, are just bitter losers who probably also believe that the National Lottery is also fixed. I play every week, have been very close several times and will probably never win (almost certainly), but the enjoyment it brings me and thousands of others, is well worth a punt. Not related to BOTB, paid by them, ever met them, live in a different country to them and any other crazy links anyone cares to claim. There will still be some!!! Get over it.

Botb's Comment

Hi Wakins,

Thanks for your review, we really appreciate it as we work hard to operate as transparently as possible (and always take any suggestions on how to improve the way we do things) but still find some people are quite skeptical. This, we can also understand. Winning your dream car for only a few pounds? Sounds too good to be true!

We implore anyone that has any doubts, to research the company, chat to our active community on Facebook or even come in and visit! Happy to have any spontaneous visitors to chat to the team here, we're a friendly bunch.

Best of luck in the competition Watkins!

Go nowhere near these people. Any competition that has such extreme odds, but still manages to pick the same winner twice is highly suspect as far as I'm concerned. They must be running out of stooges, so have to recycle them now.

I'm glad I started this competition. I won an F-Type in January and just two weeks ago my wife won an Aston Martin. There is nothing suspicious about this, it was just pure luck. We are not affiliated to BotB in any way shape or form, just lucky winners. Our wins were featured in our local press. Have a look at the winners map on the BotB website to see how many different people have won since they started. I give them 5 stars!

“Where's the ball?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by DavisSloan on 26/08/2014

Like a few earlier reviews on this site regarding The Best of the Best, I have recently tried the spot the ball competition. I sat in my office for ages with colleagues looking at the players faces, and using the spyglass magnifier tool tried to match where the eyes were looking rather than just where the players head was looking. When the competition winner was announced, the ball was nowhere near where we had all agreed it should be. It was 2 inches lower in the photo?? I think we all accept that the chances of winning this competition are slim, but when the ball position simply doesn't add up, then it makes the entire process seem a complete waste of time. Why not just blindly put a mouse click on the page rather than try to work out the ball position with straight rulers and accuracy?? You would have more chance of being near where the judges say the ball should be. Its really stupid

Mike048's Comment

Written on: 30/08/2014

Yes I agree with that entirely because the judges are always putting the ball somewhere it shouldn't be more like in favor or their chosen winner to promote the competition overseas or in their circles, look at the winners!! And to win a runners up prize £200 playing credit you got to be 1-2 pixels away.So think and think again before playing this gamble because its more like corrupted.

Hi Mike,

We're sorry to hear you've got that impression, we try our hardest to promote the transparency of the competition. If you want to chat to our commercial director please call us (albeit over Christmas there are fewer people in the office than normal).

We have no interest in choosing winners or promoting certain types of winners, from a business perspective. If we operate in a shady fashion, we will reduce the trust in the competition and people will stop playing, so keep this in mind when you think about the judging process. Our ideal position is where the majority of people believe it is, but of course we can't influence this as it's down to the judges.

As we've commented above, opinions to differ and if you asked the winner of that competition or anyone near it, they would passionately argue their position was correct. So who's right? That's where the judges come in. Their professional experience in football coupled with the fact that there are three of them to prevent any one opinion taking too much control ensures that we get a fair judging result.

Hope you come back to play once again and have a little fun, if you have any more questions please do get in touch.

Hi Davis,

We have three judges on the panel of judges for the reason that you've highlighted here: opinions differ. I could find the winner of that competition you played in and the people that were near them and they would passionately argue that you were wrong and where they played their coordinates was right.

We have three judges to mitigate this: with three professional opinions, we come to a fair decision that won't be swayed by any one judge.

Thanks for playing and we hope you return in the future! If you've got any more questions please don't hesitate to email, call or even drop in!

“Be realistic, have fun and play within your means”

★★★★★

written by soporsche on 07/10/2013

Im astonished by the comments of people on here outraged because they didnt win and that the odds are low, its very unlikely you will win and of course the odds are low.. However, there is a chance and they do genuinely now have a winner every two weeks. I like this frequency and like the participation element more than the lottery. I like choosing (dreaming) of the car Id like to win and the anticipation of the reults. Yes, im sometimes dissapointed when i see the chosen location of the ball but realise legally it has to be a skill vs professional and they cannot use the 'actual' location of the real ball. I dont play at the airport any longer as dont have the time but enjoy the online experience which is clear and easy to operate. Aggressively sold, yes. Agressively marketed, yes! A profitable business, yes! So are just about any succesfull product you buy, in this case you are just buying a small chance of winning a bigger product (the chosen car). So, if you choose to play once or multiple times do so with an informed, realistic, pragmatic view of what you are entering and do it for fun not because you 'need' a new car and importantly play within your means.

“BOTB.com Supercar and Luxury Watch Competition- A*”

★★★★★

written by brettjhamilton on 09/08/2013

I have played best of the best for a few months now and the idea behind the competition is fantastic and really quite simple. You buy a ticket/s and this ticket is basically one 'play' where you get to pick a co-ordinate/pixel where you think the centre of a football would be on the picture! The price of your ticket depends on which car you want to win IF you are the winner. - So for example if you wish to play for a mini cooper or fiat 500 you only pay £2.50 for your ticket- IF you want a Bentley you will have to pay around £20 or so. Every two weeks the competition closes and is judged by a panel of independent FA referees etc. and they determine where they realistically think the ball would be- The winner is then contacted and whatever car ticket they paid for is what they win! This judging process is filmed and available to see on the website after each competition so there isn't any cheating or anything untoward; you can even see the pixel co-ordinate on the screen which they decide on! If there are joint winners (which is fairly uncommon)then they replay on a new picture in order to determine the winner - the runner up receiving a cash prize as a runner up! So to summarize the process: 1. Pick a ticket price to suit what you can afford and what car you want (from £2.50 for a fiat 500 through to £25 for a Lamborghini). 2. Play your ticket by guessing where the centre of the ball would be on a football picture; (this is a skill game not a raffle; whoever is closest wins). 3. After closing the competition is judged by independent FA referees and judges who try to determine where they think the ball would go -this is filmed and shown on the website. If you have any questions then the customer service team are excellent at replying fully and honestly; even the director and founder is excellent at providing transparent correspondence direct to the customer (first hand contact with my own queries). And remember; this competition has been going and growing for over 10 years which stands testimony to it's legitimacy and legacy!

They wait until you pay then they start talking yadayada "we are not a raffle/non profit" I played it, but from the moment they began to talk, i didn't buy it. It just doesn't add up and i refuse to believe it!

The reason he wanted a comitment before explaining the rules is because they have alot of travelers that are bored and are looking for some one to talk too, even though the company are very customer friendly the Salesman is there to earn a living not to entertain weary travellers.

“They Wouldn't Even explain anything till I paid! ”

So I'm going through an airport recently and I caught my dad chatting to one of these 'sales guys' about to pull his credit card out. I start chatting to them (I assume it's a raffle style) and ask how many tickets they have sold. They replay with it's not a raffle, if you pay then I'll take the time to explain how it works (alarm bells). So I start asking what the published odds for winning the various prize odds, again I'm told it's not a raffle or a lottery and it works differently, however if i'm interested and buy some tickets they will start to explain how the process works. Finally I ask them how many 'tickets' they sold this month / last month, more deflection, I start to walk away and they start to offer 'cheaper' tickets. We still walk away.

Also, just noticed that they have removed their feefo profile after everyone went nuts about the same guy winning twice. Nothing to hide ? Yeah right.

I'm still playing so I'm in with another chance of winning another car. Obviously you're not playing so have no chance of winning.
Seriously, why would Will want to award prizes to his mates? We're not actually mates, I'm just another satisfied customer, although we did get invited to the BotB winner's party last year.

“Don't bother, Best of the Worst.”

It's not at all like the car competitions in Dubai. There - pay 100 pounds - you are one of only a fixed number of tickets - they draw it out of a hat. The car in the competition is the one they have on the floor. Easy - fair. These clowns seem to have the same set up. BUT you agree to play then you find out that they play a 'spot the ball' competition - BUT you aren't allowed to choose - they do it for you! Also they say - don't worry about the spot the ball - it is irrelevant to the competition! What? Anyway I entered - got an e-mail saying the winner had been chosen - wasn't the car they showed me (an Aston Martin) but a common-or-garden BMW?!? Also they made a big thing about the judges of the spot the ball nonsense - even though I was told this was irrelevant! Non-transparent nonsense - if you want to do this - do the original in Dubai. Much fairer and open.

If you live in the UK and win the Dubai competition you'll have to pay all the import taxes due on a new vehicle. If you win the BotB competition (like my wife and I both have) you'll get the choice of a brand new car to your own specification, all UK taxes paid, or a cash alternative. The reason the cars are different is that there are approx. 180 cars that you can play for. You decide. You're better of playing online. I only found out about BotB at an airport and played there once. Apart from that I do it online, no pressure from sales staff, in my own time. The car on the BotB stand is just a demo model but if you want one like that you can order the same one from a dealer if you win. 5 stars from me.

His friends did win didn't they

Latest winner of porsche 31/6/15 was a friend, i bet they even talked the same way,who gives a stranger a hug!WH had a winner made fulham foot ball club where he goes to watch. WH made a winner in the same district meet at the time of presenting prize land rover to a man in maida vale, supposedly buying a tv.WH made a manager of hotel in canary wharf, made winner where he stayed. These winners are picked to win ,not coincidence, are connected to WH and passing acquaintances, if you think £5 per pixel gives you a chance you are 99.9 certain to loose, don't do it.Theres even a couple who won twice husband 1st and 2nd wife just recently showing Aston martin + £10k but bet they know WH,its not that easy!

Its only since I have returned from my holiday and had time to look into this company and competition that I realise just how stupid I was to play!!... Just looking on their website and across the net the chances of winning although they make you feel like they are good are terrible! 500,000 - 600,000 made on each comp for a supercar they probs buy for about 80,000.. so bad odds already... but most people get discounted tickets and thousands get free goes from getting close in previous rounds... In addition there is so much fakery on the internet because they have so much bad press they have resorted to creating their own review websites and paying thousands to Google to rank their fake review websites highly another expense for your ticket value!!
