“Don't Do It - Go To A Real Company !!”

If you would like to pay £110 per month and think you are covered, however when you really need them they stall, delay and eventually don't cover you - then this is the policy for you. I'm convinced they are happy to take your money, then when you claim they are happy to deny you the cover and hope you leave. This means they are quids in for nothing. “AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!”

I work as an insurance coordinator for a dental office. I dread when new patients come into our office with this insurance because we know how hard we will have to fight to get their claims paid! I'd say 90% of the time they will deny claims or at least delay the processing of claims as long as they can. We rarely receive payment on a claim without having to call and follow up and argue with representatives! I contacted HOL and said I was booking an appt with the locally "approved" hospital. They said fine go ahead - I had GP letter referral. I booked my appt as recommended by hospital and was then told this DR was not approved by which time I had seen him. HOL would send me an "approved" list. “Miss sold-don' trust this company-stay away”

I took this polity in Feb 2013, paying £108.90 every month. Called first time in September as my GP asked me to do blood test. When I get this policy, sales person told me that unlimited diagnostics is included in the policy. When I called then to register to get blood test done, a lady said they don't cover these regular tests. The only cover I have is for teatments which is not available with NHS. I found it as big lie. No question you unwittingly signed up for this. It is always wise to examine the paperwork when it arrives as this company has a number of options to consider quietly in your armchair before taking the plunge. I am about to test them out myself!

A GP blood test should be free on the NHS unless you are not a UK resident so why put in a fatuous claim. Little wonder it was ignored.

What was the outcome of you complaint btw?

“They let me down.”

I was originally with AXA PPP. I had a low grade brain tumour at this time. They covered me after two years. After surgery which AXA PPP paid for with no problem I was to ill to answer letters about renewal. My insurance stopped. I went in search of a health insurance for my whole family and found Health online. As soon as they mentioned being under written by AXA PPP I felt safe. “They dont pay ”

Took out a top policy which i paid £107 a month have been with them now for 14 months. I have found a lummp in my right breast and my nipple has changed i made a claim and they have refused it as back in 2007 i had a indentation on my left breast even though when they sold me the policy they said as long as your are symptom free for 3 years they will cover the condition. “The don't pay out Health Insurance Company”

I have been paying just under £80 per month for what I thought was top notch health insurance. When I had a problem and was referred by a consulatant for an MRI scan I realised that I did not have top quality health insurance. Instead when I made the claim I was given a long list of of why I should not claim, then I was told it would take 3 weeks to process my past medical history. “Initial experience - disgusting ”

I visited my GP yesterday as I have been unwell for three weeks he immediately made a consultant referral as I ts him I had health insurance. What a surprise to find that Spire hospital in Cardiff is not listed (around 85%) of consultants here work fr there. “Great Company and Helpful”

I've been insured by HOL for 5 months so far on a family plan and recently made a claim because i was suffering from awful chest pains. quite scary! I called the claims line who were very helpful, they authorised my claim straight away as they had my medical history on file. Lckily the lady who set my plan in place gave me a heads up to get my 5 years medical history sent over sooner rather than later. hi, i've been with health online for nearly a year now (never claimed so far!) but i got my doctor to fax over my 5 yr records shortly after i joined so it was out the way, done and dusted. i feel sorry for you if your doctor took a few weeks but thats not the companies fault. thats your dr's being lazy. i'm sure the company are wanting to check you are claiming for something new. i suppose they have to do their jobs correctly?
as long as you know where you stand when u take out a policy then all is ok.

I have the same issue. They have sent me round in circles for more than 2 months now. I have been with my current GP for 2 years and with the previous one for 6. They claim that they never received the info from the old GP (I only went there to register so there is no real info!) and thus refused to even consider my case (seeing a knee specialist). I don't even know hoe I ended up with them as I was sure I was buying AXA. I know see that they are underwritten by AXA and that's it.

In a nutshell - money down the drain and will switch to BUPA in the new year!

Very helpful and attentive when taking the policy. When claiming will use any excuse not to cover you. If you had an ingrowing toe nail they would use it as an excuse not to cover a brain tumour and thats no joke. I feel really bad because two friends took policies with them because of me, I just hope they don't have to claim. Use a proper company! “Cheap unreliable company”

“Best Insurer I've ever had!”

I signed up with Health Online about 18 months ago and I couldn't have found a better insurer. They halved my premium, which was a great start. I unfortunately am going through cancer treatment, but the staff have been wonderful. I managed to see the specialist within days and have the growth removed.
