On the first episode, I have found this service difficult. By using the website, you are promised 24 hour replies but they are usually late and sometimes never come. I then had to chase them by phone (15 minutes to get an answer as a general guideline). Of the call centre agents I talked to (1) the first one gabbled at high speed and was difficult to understand (2) the second was not really that knowledgable, which is definitely a shame. Medical insurance as with any insurance, you can only see the value of once you need it. I found myself diagnosed with a life threatening heart condition and went through the NHS to be treated as I went in a&e, so I wasn't sure what I could use my insurance for to be honest. Had to use my Health on line insurance, unfortunately I opted for the 6 week plan, this means that if treatment is available on the NHS within 6 weeks you have to use the NHS. Obviously it's rare for this to be the case. I visited NHS A&E and was given a splint and crutches together with a appointment to see a consultant in 2 weeks. Some members of staff need more training on dealing with customers. I was suffering with depression and the process took 4 weeks to get me an approval for treatment. I had to ring them many times and when I emailed through their online website, nobody replied to me. More phone calls when I was feeling ill. I have since been told by a customer service person that it is best to ring them than use the online service ! Used my policy for first time very recently . Got the 6 week plan so have to use nhs if can have the treatment within 6 weeks. I would have had to wait so was allowed to use my policy . Staff on phone were always very friendly,and eager to explain and help. Had a little hiccup over getting the authorisation to go ahead with chosen hospital,form wasn't sent out to me but was sorted after about 5 days.
