    Good Points: Easy to contact, had a personal direct number to speak to my claims handler. Very helpful friendly, good price.


    General comments: I took out Barclays contents and buildings insurance, it was the cheapest at the time and i received £125 cashback via cashback site. I have never made a claim until now, when my garage doors were destroyed during high winds. I made the call to Barclays and they said they would send a subcontracted assessor from Asprea around. When it turned out that it was going to take asprea 10 days to arrange to send someone out, I contacted Barclays and explained that this was unacceptable, they were very helpful. I was able to fax a quote and a report through from a local supplier and they agreed to release the funds.

    Barclays have been improving their products with their price match. They were about 200 pounds more than my Tesco car insurance renewal quote of £371, so they not only met it, but they gave me back another £50 for price match. 2 months later I phoned in to add my wife, who is a newbie with a Pass Plus, and I got another £124.00 back!! Unfortunately, they wouldn't let me add no claims protection after I started my policy, which in a way could be fair.

    For the second year running, I have returned to Barclays Insurance as the Broker, and Norwich Union Direct as the car insurer, which, for some reason, is cheaper than dealing with Norwich Union Direct directly!!

    Excellent value for money. I guess the only way I'll know if they are that good is if I need to claim. Fingers crossed I'll never need to!
