Just received my Toulouse settee. So relieved. After reading many of the previous reviews I had seriously considered cancelling the order. My experience has been very positive from ordering at a Next shop, the three text messages I received from despatch and the telephone call I got this morning to tell me they would be with me in ten minutes. We ordered a sofa, chair and footstool. The quality was so poor. Next arranged for an independent furniture inspector to check our sofa. It had a crack in the frame and the seating was too low. Also the foam was too soft. We are getting a refund. Wont shop there again. (read more)

We bought the newell sofa and two arm chairs in mink to go in our new home. To begin with they didnt stick to their 5days to 5 week promise. We waited months for the chairs.... I ordered sofa 6 weeks ago - was in no rush for it, however, polite lady rang after 5 weeks to arrange delivery which was a convenient Sunday morning the week after. Just arrived, delivery men very friendly, efficient and fast! Made sure I was happy with it and took all the packaging away. Sofa nice. Recently had bed delivered - again, no problems. Next delivered my extra large sofa today. Because my front door and hallway are too narrow the delivery team had to carry it from the lorry over 100m round the back of the terrace. The path they used is muddy, grassy and uneven. There were no complaints, growls or even moments when I thought they'd give up or leave it in the front garden (after having read a lot of comments, this had been a recurring nightmare). Worried now after reading these reviews,ordered the Sherlock chair on the 19th November 2012 on a 9 week delivery. 13 weeks later I have no chair . Never been a Next customer before and opened a next account, three weeks ago my statement shows to make payment for chair in February 2013, phoned customer services they said "oh you should have the chair by then" . I ordered a tub chair and 1 metre of fabric in Sumatra Light Red. After 2 weeks I received the fabric but it was totally different colour from the material I had ordered. Next were great and apologised and ordered it again for me. I had apparently been sent Sumatra Dark red (which they don't even sell anymore). Ordered a large sofa and matching snuggle which is a round swivle chair. After many delays both eventually arrived. Sofa is ok but omg the snuggle is 3 months old and looks terrible. We looked at these reviews a bit late as we had already ordered in store an armchair (delivery in 2 -4 weeks) and a sofa (delivery in 1 week). We were a bit apprehensive after reading about the bad customer service and delayed delivery times, especially as we have just bought a new house and really needed these items. First off, one thing I truly hate about Next is that, when you make a purchase on their website, you seem to automatically be given a credit account with a limit on it...which then shows up on your credit report as an agreement. I ordered a Next Colorado corner sofa in Capri mink fabric and matching armchair, big mistake! No problem with delivery, received it 8 weeks after ordering. Quality was appalling! Having spent weeks researching sofas, we ordered a Sonoma corner unit in store from Next. Pre-Christmas delivery was crucial, which is why we placed the order in time for their "5 week delivery" to arrive prior to Christmas. We also emphasised how important this was when ordering. I did plenty of research on the sofas we ordered and asked instore and online about fabric lead-times. My husband and I ordered two Next Toulouse sofas in early September. We chose Next as we had moved without furniture and so needed our sofa/sofabed quickly. We were given a five week estimate by Next which was perfectly acceptable. It is now two months since the order was placed and Next still cannot give us a delivery date. You are in the same position as we were, due in the main to the manufacturer of the sofa not hitting the alleged NEXT target dates of 5 weeks.
Customer care, after speaking to a call centre in a far flung country, was very matter of fact. In truth they probably read off a script and couldn't care less. NEXT don't contact you with any updates and you have to chase them.
An easy solution for NEXT would be to advertise perhaps 8 - 10 weeks delivery and then if it comes early then the customer is delighted. I think they advertise 5 weeks to undercut the opposition who all seem to quote 6 weeks.
Our sofa actually arrived yesterday after 8.5 weeks and the good news is that it is excellent. Shame about everything else.

If you haven't already then CANCEL your order immediately. We ordered 2 Jemima sofas in July and within 3 weeks of delivery the arms started 'popping' when pressed.
NEXT sent a medic to report on this who advised that there is a huge batch error on this particular sofa and that he advised repair rather than replacement as they had a warehouse full of these and would just keep sending them out until the stock had gone. I enquired about repair and compensation (as these were brand new) and the compensation was an insult - I'd spent more on phone calls. Unfortuntately, the sofas had to be returned for refund as we couldn't get a sensible response from NEXT.
Their customer service is a complete JOKE - every person I spoke to had a different story and would contradict things that I'd been told. One even tried to tell me that nobody on their staff would have advised of a batch error and that i was making it up.
The whole thing was an absolute shambles and I won't be buying anything from them again!!

Purchased this sofa roughly 3 weeks ago, was happy to start with due to the quick delivery from Next. But since using have found the Ludo Sofa very uncomfortable when sitting on it. You can actually feel the wooden frame when sitting on the cushions of the sofa. The bottom cushions on the sofa are non removeable. We have already had a replacement sofa after the first one had incorrect back cushions (too small) one of the seat cushions was a different colour to the rest of the sofa and there were marks on the leather. In all fairness Next were quick and replaced in a week. The issues we have experienced since are very similar to yours, ours is the Garda Extra Large Sofa and when we sit on it (in the middle especially) you can feel the wooden frame at the back, the support just does not seem adequate. Next have already sent a company out to check and found the Cushion (form) is not right thus being replaced however I'm not convinced and have since informed Next of this. they are stating to wait until this is replaced and they will have the sofa checked again! I still believe the support (i.e. the springs) is what the problem is??? Having been sat on it for a while I'm also finding I get back ache and the back cushions seem to be loosing their support!! Let me know how you get on with yours?

We had another guy come out to supposedly check the sofa but all he did for approx 30-40mins is tell me that this is how they are made thus nothing wrong with the sofa! Ref the support issue in the middle of the sofa he said because it only has two cushions its meant really for two people!! I said but its an ex large sofa and we bought it expecting to sit four people he said we would have been better off buying the small two seater then we would not have this problem!!???? Ref the back cushions loosing support he said again this is how they are made and we have to take out the filling at least once a month and pull apart to gain the support back i said not acceptable. ref feeling the wooden strut across the back again just said how they are made! Thus now waiting on next coming back to us don't hold much hope out on them resolving our issues! I have to say the guy who came out this time was as much use as a chocolate fire guard!! Not sure at all on them offering to give money back when the company they are sending out just states simply 'this is how they are made now a days!' thus Next I would presume would only take back if the sofa is stated as faulty. I am awaiting a call from them but not sure at all when this will be and I will discuss with them my options. I am deffinately not happy as after sitting on the sofa for approx 30 mins I get quite bad back ache thus i certainly will be asking for them to take the sofa back and either we pick a different sofa or they refund, will let you know.

Next seem quite happy to take your money, smile sweetly and promise the world yet the reality is that they are useless. God only knows how they are still operating. Recently bought a Garda large sofa, two chairs & footstool in a Salerno Mink fabric from Next. Lucky for me it was on a 4 day delivery but as I have work commitments I decided on a Sunday delivery. Having read the reviews on here about the Next sofas we were really worried about when we would receive our sofas and if they would be as expected. Thankfully we had nothing to worry about. We ordered one large Sonoma sofa and one medium sofa and were told delivery would be approx 5 weeks. Apparently in Next T&C they can change the delivery date by 2 weeks and not have to advise you in writing... Our chair is still outstanding and we've been told to expect a further 3 week delay! 11 weeks waiting now.
My chair was delivered today with no cushions and still no footstool, which was to be delivered at the same time.
Was told i would be contacted by next by the delivery driver, no phone calls.
I have been repeatedly lied to by them and to be honest i am tired of chasing them now.
I would suggest you forward your complaints to BBC watchdog, as i have in the hope that they will investigate this.
I will be writing a formal complaint to their head office and i suppose i have more weeks of calls to look forward too.

I have had EXACTLY the same problem! I was given a lead time of 5 weeks for a sofa. After 5 weeks when I did not hear anything then I called Next and they advised that the sofa will be in the warehouse on the Tue. When I called after Tue then they said that the sofas are going under quality control and that I am due to be called to arrange a delivery date. I never got the call. I then phoned every day to find out whats happening and was told that they have come in the warehouse and are under going quality control. I even went into the store and the manager called up for me and they told her the same story. After another week (now 2 months) I go to the next store and ask them whats happening. They make the call on my behalf again and the lady on the phone tells me that my order was never placed! There was some problem with the system so they have NOW placed my order 2 days ago and it will now take another 5 WEEKS until the sofas come in the warehouse! They keep changing their story and keep lieing to me! I thought the sofas were in the warehouse and awaiting delivery?? They offered me £30 goodwill gesture on £2000 worth of sales and a 2 month delay! How ridiculous! I told them to keep it as it cost me more phone them everyday to get an update. No one phoned me during this time and they keep lieing to me!

My experience is very similar to many of the reviews here and if I had seen this site before I ordered the two chairs I would have probably avoided using Next Home. I paid for the furniture in full when I placed the order and was given an estimated 5 week waiting time which I decided was Ok as I would use garden furniture in the meantime. I was contacted last Sunday to be told that our chair that we had ordered on june 18th(along with 2x sofas) will have to be re-ordered and will take another 5 weeks. To date no explanation as to why this is, especially as we received a letter dated 10th August that our chair will not be ready til early September! Really my experience with this company is almost the makings of a best seller. Bought sofa from my Next store (14/3/12), it arrived 5 days later (21/3/12). Delivery team excellent, sofa sagging, lumpy. Report it, inspector comes out and agrees. We ordered two sofas through our local Next store. The ordering process was good. They gave us a delivery date and delivery time between 10:00 and 12:30. I received a text the day after purchase to confirm the delivery and another text the day before delivery with a further confirmation. The delivery driver called 30 minutes prior to arrival. I ordered two next fabric armchairs from their online sale which were effectively half price. All seemed to go smoothly. the order was confirmed and a delivery date was arranged and accepted by me to be delivered between 7.30am and 1.00pm. At 12.50pm, with a pending appointment to meet, I rang to find out what the delay was. I was told by the customer services operator that the chairs were not coming at all as they were out of stock!! About three months ago, we had reason to contact the Customer Service Management team at Next over what we considered to be a fault with the fabric on our Next sofas. We received excellent service from this team from day one. The sofas were assessed and it was agreed without fuss that they would be replaced. We waited just five weeks for the new sofas. Ordered a Next Sofa from our local Next store in April. We were told at the time it would be 7 weeks delivery, which we accepted. 5 weeks later they rang to arrange delivery, so we were pretty happy that it had been made early. They gave us lots of choice to choose a date suitable for us (I think they deliver 7 days a week for no extra cost). Everything went very smoothly with our order from ordering at the shop through to delivery. Continual reminders via text to ensure that we did not forget. 10 days after ordering our sofa bed arrived and was delivered timeously and courteously. Very pleased. (read more)

They are not really the best in the world, but economy and not a bad quality.
I suugest it for couples that they don't want to spend too much at their first years of live.

Next customer service has to be good beacuse they are dealing with so many complaints about delivery service and damaged goods on arrival. they are just buying you off because they are papering over the cracks everywhere else. We have tried them out three times, first item delviered a tv unit was completely smashed inside the box, secong items sofa and chairs, dleivered all dirty and now having been replaced the fabric is very and i mean very, sensitive to soaking up any ink whatsoever from... Yeh been there done that. Ordered two Garda sofas on 18th October 2012. Confirmation email said delivery within 5 weeks. Second email said delivery within 6 weeks. A week before the due date we contacted Next to query the delivery and was told it was en route from factory to the Next warehouse. Due date arrived but the sofas didn't. Contacted Next who told us that the material hadn't even arrived in the country let alone the sofas at the warehouse. Pointed out our 6 week delivery to which the woman at Next said, "Yes, I can see why they told you that" however that was the end of her explanation. Contacted them repeatedly through their complaints department and told today, (17th December) that it is now in their warehouse but can't tell us when wife will get delivery......so watch this space. One question, why doesn't someone high up in Next have the guts to come on this site and explain why they can't give genuine delivery dates ?
