Good Points: 4 years ago it used to be a good site where you can meet genuine people for friendship (if not love).
Bad Points: In March I subscribed for 3 months and get 1 free, then suddently saw on my credit card statement a charge for one month and I never been informed about this auto renewal. Since then tried to cancel it as per their instructions on the site and still haven't received from them any cancellation confirmation as they said on their site that they have sent it to my email. I am extremly disappointed of this site, from a good one turned out to be the worse one. Is this is how they earn their financial profit? Also, I met a guy now and not via dating site and I don't want my profile to keep hanging on the site as an active, it cause an inconvenience.
General comments: Strongly not recommended any longer, if they keep charging members who no longer want to be a member.

Dating Direct used to be pretty much the only dating website that didn't auto renew your subscription, which was the main reason I liked it. However it has now followed the other dating sites, and automatically renews subscriptions in my experience.
They claim this is to make it easier for you, so you don't have to go through the hassle of renewing. For me this there is more hassle now in trying to contact as I found no difficulty in typing in my card details once a month to renew...

You get to see photos of members on siteSurfing tedious and members on line on searches are not necessarily on line if you search by area? Members do not reply to e mails! Lots have just a name and no user id?
Cannot determine if members are genuine - men publish their photos but many women don't- how are they receiving replies? Therefore I do not recommend www.datingdirect.com.

In comparison to other sites, its not great. I think it gets lots of visitors because it does high profile marketing.

Any company that does not give easy direction for people to contact them in cases like this should not be permitted to run anything, after all, they are, in a round about way working for us, who pay them, but to take money from people like they took it from me is WITHOUT DOUBT a criminal offence, and one I shall fight.
Just let them watch me.

This used to be a good site but since its "recent revamp" to bring it to a par with other (and less expensive) dating sites it has deteriorated. The lack of ability to contact the site owners or support and to cancel auto-renewal feels quite sinister.

I was registered on this site over a year ago, but have had my profile deactivated for at least the last 12 months. Today I have discovered that they have (without my permission or any warning to me) re-published my profile on their site - visible to all other members.
There is no 'contact us' option on the website, I have received a bounceback from a response I just wrote to one of their emails, and the 'delete account' link on their site refuses to accept my account ID and password.

Tried to log in to DatingDirect.com on 21/6/07. The only page the site displays is an announcement that the site is to be revamped. No other details - and no log in link.

Dating Direct should not really be listed here as a free dating site, as it is not free! The signup procedure is difficult, and their "free trial" is pretty useless, and you end up having to pay to speak to anyone.
