    Good Points: Sea and pool views from the balcony of most rooms.
    Rooms have fridge, kettle (& mugs), air-con, hairdryer and a safe (there is a charge for the safe).


    Bad Points: None.


    General comments: Passed a brilliant week away at the end of September, beginning of October this year. We were really lucky with the weather. It was sunny and in the 30's most days! Everyone at the Tsilivi Strofades Beach Hotel in Zakynthos is so friendly and helpful, especially in the pool bar at night. Go to Gerakas, it's lovely, and don't bother with the excursions. Get a boat out from Agios Sostis and sail across to the little islands!
    If you're going to rent a car go to Theo's rentals in town. They are so helpful, and they are really honest and fair. I know by direct experience, as I wrote off one of their mopeds (be careful on the roads, they're incredibly shiny). Even after that, they still rented us a car for three days (€80! bargain).

    The best restaurant on the island is Argnati out past Argassi. The food was great, and the view was fantastic. Further out past Argassi is Banana beach, which is busy in summer apparently, but it was really peaceful at the end of the season. Don't bother going to see the turtles at the end of the season, as they aren't there. Your tour operator will probably try to sell you this trip!
