I bought my 2007 Majesty new in Feb 08 as a work commuter. I lived 10 miles from work and the 20 mile roundtrip was a gallon a day in my old Jeep. The Majesty not only saved a considerable amount of gas but is a great and fun ride. The last three years I worked I only used a quarter tank of gas in the Jeep from April to October, that showing how much I used the scooter. Now that I've retired my ride is a fun ride only and I find myself inventing excuses to run errands with the Majesty. ... (read more)

I have owned four of these machines, found them spelndid for commuting. Daily 50 miles home (Essex) to Central London. have ridden long distance from London to Newcastle, and Liverpool, and Manchester, and Leeds all journeys from London, average mileage 11,000 per anum. Very reliable, service intervals are good 6,000 between servicing, (oil change at 3,000 but no filter change so easy to do yourself). What does require getting used to is the handling, giving up my touring days on my Pan... (read more)

I owned one from 2008 to 2011. The acceleration was very poor. It improved a bit on fitting a J Costa variator, but the still sluggish performance made it dangerous joining fast traffic on motorways. A buzz developed on the exhaust heat shield as it loosened, but despite tightening the screws as hard as possible, the screws came out, the shield dropped off and got destroyed by traffic behind me. A replacement cost £160 including fitting. By the time I sold it, the buzzing was back as it... (read more)

I have had my majesty 2005 bought new in 2007 . I live in nw Montana so I ride mostly in the spring thru fall season. i use to ride the big boys but age made drop down to the majesty. I ride it to glacier national park and it performs great. Only bad thing is local dealer service is to expensive for the time it takes to service the scooter. (read more)

What a fantastic bike. Fits me like a glove, most comfortable bike I've ever owned. Engine shakes a little at idle, then smooths out with no vibration at cruising speed. Good power, easy to balance, low center of gravity, good wind protection, no engine heat, superb seat, huge underseat storage, great looks, reasonable service schedule, and it's a Yamaha!. Cons: mirrors not positioned well. No airbags. :) (read more)

I bought my Majesty 400 (2004 model)6 weeks ago. At first it was al right, but mile after mile i discovered its weak points. It is not my first scooter so I have something to compare it with. My old Aprilia Atlantic 200cc. The main reason i changed it is the lack of power of that 200cc engine. Sprint to 60mph wasn't bad but it stoped soon after around 70mph (which was annoying). The Majesty can easily do 100mph, but cornering over 70 it feels like a yacht on rough sea even in large motorway... (read more)

I'm not one for cliches but the Yahama Majesty 400 is truly King of the Road. I've had it for one year and have just used it in the city and was satisfied going at 50 mpg, weaving in and out of traffic with ease and using it to go to work and back. I am now a quarter of a way through a trip from Scotland - Germany - Poland - Ukraine - Romania - Serbia - Hungary - Germany - Scotland and have not been disappointed. The windy Scottish roads were taken with ease and the german autobahns were... (read more)

Bought one new in 2005. 18k on it now and love the bike.
Put another grand into now for new tires, breaks and belt.
Could skip the belt as the old one looked like new, but the manual said change it.
I would have given it a 5 but I think retail on the bike should be about

Love my 2009 Yamaha Majesty. I've put 700 miles on it in less than 2 months. I wanted to ride but didn't want to deal with a clutch while learning. I ride with a someone on a "regular" motorcycle and find I keep up just great. It is a little light for freeway, although it can handle the speed, and if there is some strong wind I feel a little uneasy. On the other hand, it can handle 45 - 55 comfortably, and does great in the city. I forget it is a scooter when riding. (read more)

I have had a 2004, a 2006 and a 2008 about to get a 2010. Use it for commuting 50 miles per day into Central London. It's a great communter. Being a Judge's clerk also use it for circuit. Goes to Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle and Nottingham on a regular basis. Only problem is I do 16,000 a year! Put a top box on and heated grips, loads of space, enough clothes for a week away.
never a problem, never failed me even with high mileage. So it is a good all rounder. Just a... (read more)

Itraded up from a 2007 Piaggio BV250. Nice bike but several small and annoying problems. Parts availability was also sketchy. Wanted more performance ans stability at highway speeds. Got it plus Japanese reliability and dealer network. Still breaking it in but the ride is fine. Dialed the rear socks to #2 position, a little soft for some but very comfortable especially in rutty city streets. This 450 lb bike is very nimble and it took like 15 minutes to adjust to the extra 100 pounds. I'm... (read more)

I have owned a 2006 Yamaha Majesty since 2007 and I bought it new with 0.0 miles on it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for reliability is that I have had to have recall work done on it. Really not a reason to give it 4 stars I know, but hey, had they got it right the first time, they could have gotten 5 stars out of me because it was a pain in the rear to get the work done. It's powerful, smooth and hasn't given me a lick of trouble except for the fuel pump seal recall. It always starts... (read more)

My first bike! My friends thought I was nuts. I bought this bike on the internet. I went off the details and size. The Yahama dealer had ordered it for me.
I LOVE this bike!! The cargo space is great and the bike has alot of power.
I would be a sales rep if I had to get another job. I am not a sports bike person. Handles well. This is the way to go for a first bike!! (read more)

yamaha majesty 400cc. I do not own this bike as yes, I am 45 years young, I currently ride a suzuki hyabusa and prior to that a honda blackbird, but thats serious biking, and to be honest a little too much fuss and a sure licence looser these days, I am considering the majesty 400 becuse I want less fuss, more economical, with enough power to handle the odd motorway stint, and unlike the Busa; I wont mind leaving the majisty out in the rain, I wont feel the need to constantly clean it!!and I... Bought a 5,000 mile 2005 Yamaha Majesty 400 about two months ago with the intention of visiting relatives in Sweden. I live in the UK.
The round trip was just about 2,5000 miles including a bit of sightseeing in Stockholm. The bike was faultless. Never missed a beat, even when thrashed down German Autobahns at 80+mph for hours on end. All my clothes, luggage etc fitted under the seat and in the gloveboxes. And the oil, when checked on my return, was still full and totally clear. If I... (read more)

Have a 09' Majesty 400 and LOVE IT. Went on a ride today 10/12/09 from Fullerton, - Laguna Hills, Irvine, Orange back to Fullerton, end in Chino Hills a good 90+ mile ride. Was the only scooter amongst Harley's, Victorys, etc. Everyone was surprised at the speed of my Majesty. Some other people could not believe all the room I got, especially when they saw my SHAD 46 top case. For my 1st ride will never forget this day. As well how my Majesty performed! The Majesty could use a 650. Whenever... (read more)

The Majesty is definitely a step through motorcycle more than a "scooter". Strong engine yields good acceleration at a moderate RPM. Disc brakes are more than sufficient for a bike this size. Underseat storage may be roomy but it is oddly shaped and my modular type helmet doesn't fit anywhere under there. Have put on 2K in about three months with no problems at all. Left side air filter is fairly dirty/oily after 2k and needs replacing already. Recommend cutting out the OEM filter from... (read more)

After 2300 Km cant say anything bad about the Yamaha Majesty. I would highly recommend to anyone at any age. This is a well thought out motor cycle. Although called a scooter as others suggest it is much more than that. It handles extremely well in city and on highway. Its acceleration is excellent, its top end I still have not hit with lots of power left at 120 kmph. It is fuel efficient anywhere from 60 average city and highway to over 70 highway at moderate speeds of 80-100 kmph.Centre... (read more)

I purchased a 2007 Yamaha Majesty for my wife last summer. My dealer told me I would be back to buy one of my own. I laughed stating I would not ride a "scooter" especially having a cruiser in the garage. The Yamaha Magesty is flawless in every area and FAST! I quickly found myself riding it more often than my cruiser. Well, my dealer was right. I now have my silver Majesty parked next to my wife's red one. I now need a bigger garage. (read more)

We have a small motorcycle shop and have had a few Majesties come in and out. I have been riding everything on two wheels for over 35 years. With the gas prices escalating, we started looking at scooters as an alternative to commuter motorcycles and automobiles. I am very familiar with the Yamaha product, and was not disappointed with the quality of the Majesty. I've put a few hundred miles on the scooters (a shame to call it a scooter, it is much more), and have had a blast riding them... (read more)

I have a fair amount of riding experience, though this Yamaha Majesty 400 is my first maxi-scooter. I did a lot of research and had high expectations of this machine. Originally, I was interested in a Burgman 400. However I had an opportunity to buy a 2006 Yamaha Majesty with 600 miles (950 km) for a good price.
Overall, it met my expectations. It is well laid out, easy to use, comfortable and very capable (I have had no vibration issues with this machine).
Power - I rode it home the first... (read more)

Overall, I love this scooter. I have replaced the windshield with a much larger one from Italy online by Givi. It was only about $150.00 delivered. Ss compared to the Yamaha touring shield at $330.00 at the dealer! I am a 55 year old, lifelong biker and I found this scooter to be as much fun and as capable as any bike I have owned at half the price as most of them. (read more)

This is my first motorbike or scooter of any type, apart from the minibike I rode as a kid. I undertook a great deal of research before purchasing the Majesty 400. The nearest alternative I considered was the Piaggio X9 500, however the patchy quality revealed on this and other websites steered me away from that bike. The Yamaha TMax 500 has received some great reviews and sounds excellent in terms of additional performance, however the A$3,000 extra for the TMax can't really be justified in... (read more)

I purchased the Yamaha Majesty 400 from new. I wanted it as a commuter and general run-about, rather than using my bigger bikes. I normally travel 70 miles return journey twice a week.
After the first week, I noticed that there was an awful lot of vibration being emitted through the handlebars, seat and runnerboards. I reported it to the dealership and followed their recommendations. After the first service, I was expecting the vibration to ease. It didn't. By this time, I was suffering... (read more)

I had a Yamaha Zuma 50 cc, a first bike, before I got my Yamaha Majesty 400. Great Scott, that thing was fun!! Within a short time I was all over town, and beyond, day and night, the fun just would not stop!!! Soon, I was running into limitations....43mph top end meant a lot of highways were out of the question...still, with careful route planning, a few country trips were done. In town, traffic could be dealt with easily, but on faster moving suburban streets, I was in the right hand lane... (read more)
