    Good Points: The poor lady who was trying to run the bar and wait at table was very nice and polite.


    Bad Points: No food and no staff


    General comments: Booked a table at The Star Inn on a Saturday night to find that they had only one member of staff and 3 of their 5 a la carte dishes were sold out. This wasn't 10pm at night but 7.30! This is the 2nd time we've been here and there have been problems; the last time the chef was off and the food took forever to come.

    The Star Inn is now under new management very pleasant and the food is to die for good honest grub

    Food has only started to be served recently but a lot of thought has gone into creating a simple menu with an array of daily specials the new manager is fab.
    You'll have to drive there but it's well worth the visit.

    At Tuesday lunchtime, The Star Inn Restaurant at Llansoy in Monmouthshire was totally empty and remained so except for us and one other couple. While we were waiting ages for a menu, we could hear shouted obscenities coming from the kitchen. Not a promising start!

    We thought we'd try the restaurant as finding vegetarian lunches is difficult and The Star Inn is recommended in various vegetarian guides. Our Butter bean with Cider Casserole came with a small portion of vegetables (we ordered new ...
