    Good Points: Brilliant clarity and available with or without dvi socket


    Bad Points: Some of the colour settings (eg video, game, text) invoke a very annoying rattly buzz from inside the monitor. I know this is constant as I have two set up on the same pc!

    However it should be noted that graphic mode does not invoke the buzzing!


    General comments: Theres not much to say on this! Its a monitor!

    can be mounted on vesa stand
    optional dvi depending on model so you can have dual inpput, switching between the two with the screen menu.

    No fat adapter, just a basic kettle lead
    If vga/dvi cable gets damaged, simply unscrew it (ie not integrated into the board)

    This item recieved a 6 from me, this was solely because of the buzzing in the monitors as described above, as thi means a general amount of colour modes aare instantly lost.

    Overall though the monitor just does its job! nice small border round the actual screen wso you spend more on monitor and less on plastic!

    The model I have is the AL1916W - the 16:10 ratio wide-screen version with a native resolution of 1440x900. At first, using this monitor was a bit off-putting due to how wide and long it is after having used a standard 4:3 CRT for 20 years but I soon got used to it.

    I got this monitor with my custom system in November and was very impressed. I have never been bothered with DVI as the benefits to me are minimal. The screen is clear and from day one there were no dead pixels.

    Why pay more for a monitor? Acer is a great mid-range brand at a low price. The Acer AL1916 19 inch monitor is simple to use, cheap, good quality, easy to set up and it looks great.
