My main problem with the Crosman 1088 CO2 pistol is lack of punch. I filled up some old pepsi bottles with water and used them as targets... I thought I was missing because of no water flow from the targets, but in reality a point blank muzzle against the bottle shot was required to penetrate the plastic bottle. The 8 shot magazine is both the strength and weakness of this pistol. I think it must lead to sealing issues in the system. The revolver magazine is not sealed to the CO2 source, and the magazine is not sealed to the barrel resulting in low muzzle velocitys and I speculate that will get worse over time as the parts wear.

This gun is my first c02 air gun. When i got it i was surprised that it can shoot 8 times. It had no recoil, but not that accurate. Not even at 10 yards. I got it for $55 at walmart. All together its not a good hunting gun or target shooting gun. All in all, not a good buy.

It exemplifies the reason for the "This is Not a Toy" notification on the side of the gun, it looks and feels like a toy, a lot of plastic and very light. I took it outside with my Daisy 617. If you shoot many of these CO2 pistols, you know that if you shoot two or three you can lay one aside and let the CO2 cartridge warm up, as you shoot the others. I found the Crosman to be the more accurate of the two, it surprised me. I like the 6 ...
