    What ever happens guarentee....
The response from PC World may as well be
    "What ever"
I have been waiting 3 weeks for my pc to be fixed by the "tech guys"
after 1 week of waiting I called on the day an engineer was due to arrive at my home to see if it would be an AM or PM visit.
No such booking made was the reply!!
Re booked and that is another week and then told that they are ordering a disc that may arrive a week later let alone a fix!!!
Windows XP media edition. I can get it for them from Amazon in 24 hours they can't even give me the date they may get it by!!!
I need a new hard drive and then the XP re installed not too hard you may think for PC shop, how wrong can you be.
I stupidly pointed out to the manager over he phone that I was paying for a next day service if I called prior to 10:00 am in the morning not a 3week service.
Deaf ears , no can do attitude, can't phone, won't phone the supplier of parts to see when they are going to arrive attitude.

shop staff absolutely useless, surprised they even know what a computer is

usb cable 1.8m cost £18 in pc world, 5m one £3.50 delivered from amazon!!!

PC World's data recovery service is absolutely rubbish.
They've had my zip drive for 2 weeks - first time I went to collect they had managed to put someone else's data on my new drive and very little of mine.
2nd time I went, they had put ALL my data (approx 10GB) into one folder which even the most powerful pc in the shop couldn't open!

3rd time lucky? Am going back this afternoon to see if they have actually managed to produce ANYTHING of any use to me...but I am not holding my breath! ...

I only go to PC World when I'm disparate. I can always get a better deal on line. For example I recently wanted a new Belkin video cable. £20-30 in PC World, £3.75 +P&P from Amazon. No contest.
Staff, if you can find one, are ill informed.

PC World are completely incompetent. After a purchase that we paid for in store, sent us two bills with varying amounts, and when we queried, they said 'Oh, it's just our computer system, it always makes mistakes like that, just ignore it.' How reassuring for my accountant, and from a computer company. When we made the purchase, they also said we had to put a credit card number for an insurance payment 'just for the paperwork'. We weren't allowed to make the purchase without doing so, so after ...

Used items are sold as "new".

I cannot figure out why I did not check the reviews before I bought my camera from pc world online store. They are tragic, will never purchase again. I was brought a camera which was obviously used, and then returned this to their store in High street Kensington and specifically requested a "new, untouched" box / camera. My new box was supposed to have a safety strip on it. However, right after the money paperwork took place, the smarty man there took the camera I ...

I visited PC World with the intention of buying a PS3, or at least see what deal they could offer me as Argos was offering a good deal and I did not know who to buy it from as the games pack offer was different from each store.

like others have already said on the site already, the customer service was not very good. Staff were not very friendly and did not appear to be customer friendly. We were told that not all games were in stock, in store, for the offer we had reserved online so we asked i ...

I purchased a Compaq laptop and PC Performance cover at PC World towards the end of December 2008. Just over three months after I purchased the laptop a clicking noise started to come from the rear left of the laptop when being opened this caused the case to start cracking along the seam at the rear of the laptop and when closed the two parts of the laptop no longer sat square on each other and the front left corner sat up when closed. Although the laptop still worked this quite clearly was not ...

I bought a laptop from PC world with specific instructions on what I needed it to do, the advisor reccomended one and assured me it would be great. Super, job done... or not as the case was. It didnt perform as assured so was returned to the store for a replacement which they did without quibble. The next one was fine except I got very severe shocks off the power supply area and again had to trapse back for a replacement that just didnt perform. This was 3 months ago and Im now stuck with a m ...

Smaller PC World stores seem slightly better.
Try to get an older assistant as they were taught manners by their parents.

Buying a PC last year At Bolton :-(
You will be ignored if you are a man and stand at the cheap pc section
If you can get an assistant you will be hasselled to buy a top of the range PC if you take your wife (nieve couples beware)
You will be asked if you want a warrenty for about the cost of the item you have just purchased
You will be asked to buy stuff you dont need, ...

I attempted to use PCWorld's collect@store service today where you reserve products online and collect and pay for them in your local store. I wanted to buy a new television and had shopped around first looking for the one i wanted. I then found it on the PCWorld Website as well as some other websites. The product I wanted was about £15 more on the PCWorld website than other places but the fact that they let you reserve it and then pick it up from your local store the same day appealled t ...

I have a PC with a 5 year warranty from PC World. I feel as though this is a total waste of money. Their so-called health check seemed to do nothing that I requested, took 50 hours, and the PC appeared worse when I got it home than when I took it in. I feel their Leicester Fosse Park store is understaffed in terms of quantity and quality. I find their customer service department to be disappointing.

I would never, ever go near any of their outlets again.

I went with my family to visit PC World in Peterborough a few weeks ago.

I asked the nearest sales assistant about a laptop. She failed to get the question for a few minutes and in the end didn't know. She asked another employee. He didn't seem to know. They disappeared for a while. They came back with a printout from the PC World website describing the laptop. The print out itself did not answer the question and was incorrect on a couple of other points so I gave up.

    Meanwhile my step-son ha ...

The chap i had dealings with acted just like the guy off the natwest advert! the one when the customer has a complaint and then the bad bank manger explains how the interest charges, are for the banks Christmas do's! well that's what this chap at pc world did to me, such bad customer service, i broke my tab button on my lap top figured pc world could fix it, yeah they can at a cost of £230.00, and telling me how i needed to buy a whole new key pad, i rang sony they sent me a new button for ...

Over the past few weeks I have bought a few items from PC world. I have purchased:Advent lap top for me an Acer One mini Laptop for my daughter, a 19 LCD panel for my son and a Printer.Fortunately I do a lot of research online before buying. I have spoken to variety of sales people at PC world, and in my experience they did not seem very helpful to me. Price wise if you do research you will find PC world can do some great prices. I would have scored them higher but I think some of the accessori ...

The Lakeside store was very poor with customer relation. A laptop was under warrently and I had their support package but a young lady started talking about charges, so I reminded her that it was under warranty and any repairs were free.

I brought a computer from PC World a little over a year ago. Was in a box for 6 months due to family issues and when set up it was rarely used and when it broke 1 day out of its year guarantee, they refused to fix the computer without charge, as did the manufacturer Phillips. I was transferred from department to department and charged for each number I had to call and ended up paying £150 for the repair myself.

I would write a review on the PC I bought from PC World or the TFT I went to buy the other day from my local PC World but as yet, try as I might, I have been into PC World, with money, to purchase items and left with nothing.

A couple of years ago, against my better judgement I went into PC World in Guildford to purchase a PC. They had special offers on and I identified the machine I was after. I went to a member of staff who was putting price labels on some boxes to ask for his help. He wou ...
