Spent £600 on a laptop,printer,software plus £45 on having it all set up,was told it would be ready by 3.30 the following day I went to pick it up 5.15 only to be told it would not be ready and would have to come back the following day was offered £10 compensation by a very rude manager,in he's opinion I could take it not set and that would resolve the problem… Read Full Review

“Nice to see the product”

Much better than buying online as to a greater extent you know what you're buying. Not entirely though as no-one in the shop knows much about their products and they're not going to tell you what's wrong with them anyway. (I chose an Epson XP-635 printer over a Canon MG5750 because the latter's input tray stuck out 6" only to find when I'd bought the Epson that it's output tray stuck out likewise!). “DO NOT SHOP at PC WORLD”

Googled basic laptops. Bought basic Lenovo from PC World plus Microsoft office. Less than 3 weeks old developed 'screenbleed' whilst I was using. Manager refuses to repair, replace or refund my money. Manager accused me of dropping it! Sales Assistant pointed out no damage to unit! Manager then claimed I must have damaged it some other way! “Issues with laptop purchase--ead and make up your own mind”

Complaint concerning my purchase of an ACER F 15 Laptop computer In Nov 2015 I researched the best laptop for my grandchildren. I particularly wanted one that had an antivirus program already installed. The Acer F 15 had a 1 month “trial” McAfee antivirus and so 2 laptops were purchased. “Refused for exchange a better deal for them ”

“pc repairs - stay well clear they trash your equipment”

Never again will I set foot inside PC World. I took my Dell Computer in a few weeks ago to my local shop for repair. They ask you to sign a form stating that you might lose some data and that you agree to it, some data maybe but not the entire software on the machine which included Norton Security. Nearly 2 weeks later they phone to say that the machine was now working, great I thought. Their idea of a repair is to wipe the computer whereby you have nothing but a shell. I can only confirm all the negative reviews that you can read on here, If I could i'd give them a 0 rate. I don't recommend to anyone their repair services. I toke my laptop last week to the Brentcross store for a repair. The guy who was at the repair service told me that the main issue was that my windows was crashed and that a data recovery was needed. “Happens All The Time...... Why?”

Why is it that NEARLY every time I purchase a product and I get the package with a security sticker, when I get home and unpack something is always missing. This happened to me with a computer a year afo, as well as a printer. My latest PAIN IN THE Neck was I purchased a Panasonic Microwave a month ago. It was supposed to be a birthday present. I bought a Lenovo all in one PC for my business, we run a Beauty salon and the computer and salon software is critical to our business. When the existing computer started playing up I needed one urgently and went off to PC World (as they are supposed to be the experts). I can (almost) forgive the lack of decent stock and just having all the leftovers in store for the convienence of a local outlet but when a really bad attitude by the sales staff is added-in this causes me to never want to step foot in a store again. I agree with above, then when my new computer failed after a month and went back to the shop for repair I was given a reference and a phone number where I could chase up the repair. After a week I called the number, got through to the call centre and was told that it would take another week as they had to wait for the part. Not great as I use this for work. A week later I called again and was told that they were still waiting for the part. An hour later I was put through to someone - apparently a manager, who agreed that it might be faster just to replace the computer, but that the old one would have to be sent back to the store first. That would take until the following Wednesday. The following Wednesday I phoned again, to be told that no one had emailed the repair team so the computer had not yet left them. The girl I spoke to said she would put me through to the manager. After being on hold for about 10 mins the phone was picked up by a lad who knew nothing about my case. At that point I threw a bit of a tantrum and demanded to speak to someone who could help. He said he didn't know who the manager was, he was unable to put me through to anyone more senior, that he couldn't explain my story to anyone that he did put me through to and called me sir. He eventually said he couldn't help me so I gave up.

So I still have no computer PC world effectively have my money for nothing and there is nothing I can do about it. o and I have a Complaint reference, but that doesn't seem to do anything either. Not quite sure where to go now, but never again from these guys - the last computer I bought several years ago almost exactly the same thing happened!!

“Good Local Shop”

I have recently bought two items from PC World in Eastbourne. The first was a JBL Bluetooth Flip 3 speaker and the second was a Pure Rise Siesta Dab Radio Alarm. I had fully researched both before purchase. Both were considerably cheaper than Amazon (or anywhere else for that matter)and both were available for free collection within two days. An hour wasted. I reserved on line from their Chatham store, got my reservation number, drove there, and was offered a totally unsuitable replacement. If you REALLY have to buy from them, (I won't any more), then get the staff member you talk to to get it in their hand, because their IT online system sucks... Was it anything special I wanted? This is my experience of Currys PC World.... I ordered a laptop online. Delivery date set. Took day off work. Laptop never arrived so I phoned to see what was going on. “Hidden care plan cost”

On receiving credit card statement found deduction of £4 per month for cover that was not requested or apparently, explained by salesperson! Complained and had same stopped. “Predatory Sales Practice, Uninformed Staff”

Please don't shop here. PC world now makes it's profits by selling useless and unnecessary add-ons to grandparents and other uninformed people who don't know better. I would not feel comfortable with any non tech-savvy person I know shopping here.
