“Wrong PC”

Written on: 02/09/2015 by lucas93 (1 review written)

Recently ordered an Acer U5630 priced at £999.99, received an Acer U5620 priced at £899.99. Either genuine mistake or trying to send out cheaper products to make more money but i wouldve thought more care wouldve been put in for such a price. would not recommend… Read Full Review

Written on: 31/08/2015 by 82Lucas (1 review written)

Long story short...went to shop to buy Pc. Wasn't in the stock so I payed for it, its been ordered by one of the staff and I supposed to pick it up from store after phone call from them. Was waiting 7 days!!! Went to shop and it still wasn't there...where they guarantee 24 hour delivery if you will buy on-line. How come for store delivery you have to wait 10 days!!! Customer service was a joke too!!! Never again!… Read Full Review

“Rude staff, bad customer service.”

Written on: 17/08/2015 by GaboInternational (2 reviews written)

I ordered a keyboard from PC World website, which clearly says it was available to reserve and collect in store in an hour. I went ahead and paid for it and all, just to receive an email saying that the item would be available to collect in store in 7 days! I was confused so I rang up customer service. Tracey, or whoever this lady was, sounded like a robot on the phone, repeating the same message over and over again. She told me that the store did not update their website to reflect on their… Read Full Review

“Poor after sales service.”

Written on: 10/08/2015 by Sweetcheeks11 (1 review written)

This company has a very poor level of commitment to it's customers. I would pre warn anyone to approach with caution when buying from Currys PC World. When you purchase an item, the first thing you will notice is that if anything goes wrong, the company pass you on to the manufacturers. Also, the staff when selling items are committed to trying to help, but well after the item has been purchased, and you have issues and you are on your own!! Steer clear of the tablets as the portals to… Read Full Review

“Shocking company, their know how team know nothing”

Written on: 10/08/2015

Shocking business, staff are incompetent and don't know anything about computers, their know how team know nothing and are a joke. I bought a laptop computer from PC world and the next day a crack appeared on the screen so I took it back to be replaced, the store (Warrington Mega Store) manager said that PC world have a policy that means that any type of screen damage is not covered unless you buy their warranty at the point of sale so I would have to pay them to repair it (this is one day… Read Full Review

“DO NOT USE PC WORLD”

Written on: 24/07/2015 by Mikaelae283 (1 review written)

Bought a laptop five months ago. I had financial records for my wife, my elderly mother, my father-in-law and myself stored on the hard drive. The laptop suffered a sudden loss of power. Had to remove the hard drive to back up the data and also to remove the financial details of all concerned. PC world now refuse to make repairs because i have been inside laptop. An hours journey each way to drop the laptop off and slightly longer to collect it and the most abysmal after sales I have… Read Full Review

Of course they can't do anything with it - you've opened up the laptop and voided the guarentee. How do they know that what you've done hasn't damaged the laptop?

“Smart TV NOT. SAMSUNG TREAT CUSTOMERS WITH CONTEMPT.”

Written on: 16/06/2015 by monty007 (14 reviews written)

Purchased the 4K TV, tried using iPlayer and BBC sport apps, all say coming soon. A call to support revealed that they don't have the certificate yet, when asked when was told we don't know. Then tried using Netflix it kept failing to load along with other apps. TV diagnostics and auto update didn't function. Another call to support revealed they are aware of this and waiting for firmware update but didn't know when it would arrive. All this in the first 3 days of purchasing the TV. “Great service & advice today!”

Written on: 15/06/2015 by Jer1967 (1 review written)

PC World have never been the cheapest place to go, that's fair to say. But it's not just the cost of things that determines whether or not I go somewhere for goods or services. To save writing a fresh review, I'll simply copy-and-paste the email I just sent to Head Office: Hi there I just wanted to express my gratitude for the excellent service I was given today, by one of your young members of staff,  My PC had developed problems that I feared would end up being very expensive, had I gone… Read Full Review

“SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE”

Written on: 03/06/2015 by butleracm (1 review written)

On the 2nd May 2015 I took my laptop to PC world in Guildford as it need a repair on the closing bracket which I did break myself. When I spoke to the women who served me she was very helpful as I had mentioned to her I was off to America in a month and would need it back before then, she reassured me that it would take no more than 10-14 days to repair and be returned so I was happy to send it off. 3 weeks later I had received phone calls saying that a part had not yet been received at… Read Full Review

Dante2015's Response to butleracm's Review

Written on: 07/06/2015

I work for PCWORLD and I personally apologise for your experience and I understand how frustrating it can be when you aren't informed on the status of a repair, particularly when you have a deadline to get it back. the colleague who quoted you 14 days should not have done so unless you had taken out the knowhow careplan on your computer, in which case you would have been issued a replacement if it took longer than 14 days. unfortunately, for any repair - whether through user error or manufacturer, it is stated that any repair can take up to 28 days before any other action is taken. while I personally think this is far too long - depending on what the problem is, that is the same everywhere.
regarding the length of time it took for knowhow to acquire the needed parts, I cant do much other than apologise, you shouldn't have been given an unreasonable timeframe and I am sorry for that. I appreciate the fact that youre not satisfied with the service but lt me assure you, not all of our stores or services are like that and I hope youll consider giving us another chance.

deepest apologies and kind regards.

“pathetic”

Written on: 31/05/2015

2 experiences in last year. In one, they mis-sold me a laptop saying I would get cashback from Lenovo - not true and they denied it. Bunch of liars.
In the next, a Toshiba chromebook under guarantee power supply port stopped working and they refused to send it to the manufacturer saying I had caused the defect and removed screws. Utter rubbish, do not buy from this company, they deserve to go bankrupt. From now on it is Amazon all the way. … Read Full Review

“Extremely poor customer service”

Written on: 08/05/2015 by Tunny58 (1 review written)

In October 2014 I spent £800 of a Hewlett Packard laptop for my son and in April it stopped working. I took it back to PC World at Elk Mill in Oldham and a member of staff tested it and diagnosed a hard drive problem and scanned the bar code inside the battery compartment to ensure it was still within warranty. They sent it away for repair but the engineers returned it saying there was physical damage to the casing that wasn't covered by the warranty so they wouldn't repair it. The staff… Read Full Review

“Bad customer service”

Written on: 05/05/2015 by Daytonz438 (1 review written)

The customer service team at Curry’s need taking out and shooting, I don’t think they have one brain cell between them. 28.12.2012, I brought a Belling cooker from Curry’s GT Yarmouth. No problems buying the cooker and the warranty, that was straight forward. It is all the problems I have had since. In April 2013 had my first call out due to one of the rings not lighting, then a few months late another call out because of a carbon poisoning problem. The manufacturers – Glendimplex. sent… Read Full Review

“Mis sold product and unsafe installation”

Written on: 27/03/2015 by Whathappened (1 review written)

Bought tv and paid for an installation service to hide the cables/wires in trunking. When the engineer delivered the tv they just put it on the wall and never hid the cables. The engineer told pc world no longer provide such a service, despite the salesman saying otherwise! I went back to the store and spoke to a manager and it transpired the salesman sold me the wrong installation service. What I paid for was a standard wall mount, even though I'd specifically requested help with hiding the… Read Full Review

When My daughter went to citizens advice and was advised to put her concerns in writing, be aware they only have a PO box address, when she phoned them up to ask wether they had received the letter, she was told they had no one avilable to pick letters up from PO box, would be laughable if not so CRAP!!! “NEVER HAVE I EVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING QUITE SO...”

Written on: 09/03/2015 by HeatherGarner (1 review written)

First of all maybe I thought I was the only one. However after reading all of the other recent bad reviews today I just had to add my disgusting experiences from yesterday in my local Boston, Lincs Store, and I have never reviewed anything in my life. Yesterday at around 3.15pm my other half and I went to PC world with the aim to treating ourselves to a new computer. After a little looking around we deciding on going all out with a HP all -in- one desktop, with touch screen and the whole… Read Full Review

“Just awful”

Written on: 05/03/2015 by Danielag246 (1 review written)

I went to the Aberdeen store, at bridge of dee, and picked up a charger. I then attempted to also buy an iPad. I was advised that it was out of stock and was advised that the item would be available in another store. I went to that store, 25 minutes away in traffic. They told me it was out of stock. Clearly the chap in the first pc world should have checked stock and/or reserved one! Next they told me they could order one to the store but couldn't tell me how long it would take. I had a voucher… Read Full Review
