We booked a family for a 2 night stay B&B (all-u-can-eat-breakfast)in the splash landings hotel & 2 day pass into the theme park alton towers, ages varied from 15-37.A fantastic experience, free car park, free monorail to the theme park, queues quite lengthy to go on monorail& rides but was expected as it was scarfest(halloween).Hotel was very clean.Rides at the park we enjoyed most was terror of towers,(very scary)oblivion, nemesis, rita&many more!Food outlets such as KFC&Burgerking on theme park reasonable prices.Hotel had a all-u-can-eat restaurant in the evening for 16.95 ea adult well worth it.Pool very pricey(14.00ea)at the hotel.Overall a fab weekend & would definately go again& would highly recommend it to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a good day at Alton Towers when we eventually got in, the car ques to get in where rediculous and then we couldnt believe we had to pay for the car park another £5 what a rip off. If you are paying those extorcinate prices to get in you should at least get the car park free.

wouldnt go back again in a hurry.

Alton Towers is brillint place for a family day out. Its exiting, scary, and funny. Alton Towers has incredible rides e.g ai, oblivion, nemisis there all great rides. If your looking for a fum place to go, i would reccomend alton towers!! The food and drink is abit dear so i would bring your own things and also buy a wristband at the first gate so you dont have to pay for the rides and you can go on them again and again! ut overall alton towers is a brill day out!

I have been to Alton Towers 5 times already this year and i am going again in a few weeks. I love going there and think it's a brilliant day out! I can't comment on the queue times as i am disabled so i get a wristband to skip all the queues. As far as i have seen though, term time is the quietest. I would strongly recommend an Annual Pass if you are planning to go to the park more than twice in a year. It costs £75 per person, which may sound expensive but it costs £35 to get in oth ...

I went to Alton Towers with two of my friends for my Birthday. We took a taxi from the train station so we didn't have to pay for parking. We arrived first thing, and made our way around the park starting with Spinball Whizzer. We then went on Submission, Hex, Charlie, Toadstool, Rita, Nemesis, Air, The Blade, Duel, Runaway Train, Rapids, Flume, Oblivion, and Air AGAIN! It was so cool! There were no wait times at all!

Got 5 tickets with my tesco club card points for alton towers. Long queue to get on the monorail to the main entrance. I would rather have walked but the kids were having none of it! Once in the park, we had no queues all day. Kids went on every ride, they went on Oblivion and pin ball 4 times!!!!!! Nemesis, ripsaw, Rapids, runaway train, Rita and air twice!!!!!! The longest they had to wait for any ride was 10 minutes for the Charlie and the Choc factory.
I would recommend anyone to go during ...

yer Alton Towers is great fun but the entry fee is a bit expensive and be careful cos if you have a 12 year old child they consider them to be adults which means you have to pay extra, if i were you i would use walkers packs to geta discount, we did and it was quick and easy+you get1/2 price

We went to Alton Towers with children age 13 and 11 in July 09 and were really looking forward to it. We picked a day that we thought would be less busy as school holidays hadnt started in Staffordshire. On arriving i was horrified to see a sign asking us not to forget our £5 parking fee, and i said to my husband surely we havent got to pay to park the car when we are about to spend nearly £100 getting into the place, but yes you have to pay to park your car which is disgusting. We t ...

    Alton Towers!

This review is by a family of 3 and friend (makes 4). Mother - father - child/12 - child/11. Written by the friend.

After hearing that the park was vry gd reviews and comments off other ppl, we decided 2 go 2 alton towers and thourally enjoyed our visit. There is something for every 1 (age) in the family.

If you are there for thrills Air, Nemisis, Oblivian, Ripsaw, submission, The blade are great. There for family all the other rides are the best (including grandparents or re ...

try to take the kids - now teenage boys to Alton Towers- every couple of years. This time round we stayed in a nearby travel lodge as couldn't afford the theme park hotel. We live in london, so its a fair way to travel.

We have merlin passes so can't comment on the entrance price - but disappointed to pay £5 car parking and food is expensive - and not particuarly inviting or tasty.

My kids enjoyed the rides and managed to get on most once, due to arriving early and getting on the bigger r ...

I rate Alton Towers suitable for adults simply because neither myself or my girlfriend used any of the children's areas, so unable to comment.

Overall it was a fun day out, and we managed to get on all the rides we wanted, some of them more than once. The rides were all great fun, so for a thrill and excitement you can't really beat it.

It's easier to criticise than praise, so I will. But rest assured, it is still a fun day out if you plan accordingly and do some forward thinking.

im 37 years old with 4 kids been going to alton towers since the mid eighties as a teen and late nineties as a father and one thing that I despise is paying to park oh they control you going in but its wacky races getting out if im honest the park itself has and probably always will have the best rides but getting value for money is a no goer you will be lucky to get on 3 of the top rides before it closes and parting with close to a £100 pound for one day is a joke,my days of going there a ...

My experience of Alton Towers over the years is generally very good.
I have always come away from Alton Towers smiling... but you will need to know the secrets.

    I HATE QUEUES! So read the following tips;
    # Go on a 'school day'. Avoid Summer/Bank Holidays if possible.
    # People will move about the park in a mainly 'clockwise' fashion. Try heading for Oblivion first and go 'anti-clockwise'.

You may get 'some' heavy queing, but you will have taken important steps to making it a great day (as I hav ...

Me and my boyfriend went to Alton Towers staying one night at the hotel with two days in the park for a reasonable price (we had the two for one offer).
The best part of the park is the rides which are amazing if not too short. The queues however are atrocious lasting well over an hour (even for Spinball Whizzer we queued an hour and it isn't even a main ride!). This can be annoying, especially if you have younger children who may become restless, which is why groups of young adults would be bes ...

We had two great days at the Alton Towers resort, theme park and waterpark they even had a water coaster. In the theme park and resort the staff were very kind and helpful but in the water park the ladies in the reception were kind as well but in the changing rooms the ladie was very unkind and rude and we had to make an complante.at the theme and water park we liked. spinball whizzer, runaway mine train, hex, duel, obivion, charlie and the choclatle factory and kongo river rapids. We did't like Fr ...

Alton Towers used to be about fantastic rides and a fun-filled family day out. Unfortunately it now seems to be more about corporate greed. Granted, the rides are still an exceptional and thrilling experience, if they're working and you can get to anything more than three or four of them for the queues and lack of good signage. The very high price at the entry gate only gets you on the big rides if you can get to them, although you can pay up to £8 per person per ride to queue jump and ups ...

The rides themselves are amazing, which is why this review gets three stars not one.

First problem was queing to get into the actual park, we arrived late due to heavy traffic and the fact its a marathon walking from the carpark to the gates and some of the turnstiles didnt work tha tmorning. So feeling defeated we grabbed a map and decided to run to the rides. Arriving at Rita we ending up queing over an hour for a minute long ride, but the ride was fast and good. Ques didnt seem to go down a ...
