Good Points: I loved the fact that the rides varied in speed and size.
Bad Points: The rides were mainly for older kids.
General comments: I went with my three children aged 10, 11 and 6. Overall a great day out although I advise you to get there around 4-5pm as it can get very hot and busy, it is open until late at night. I think the 11 yr old enjoyed it most as she could go on most things. The 6 yr old could hardly go on anything because of his height. There are different lands there and food relating to what land you are in.
Overall an excellent day out and I recommend this park.

We arrived at Port Adventura with three kids, eight, six and two years old. The park is very well maintained and of a high standard which puts Legoland and Thorpe Park to shame.
Unfortunately most of the rides had queues of around an hour with the best ones queuing for even longer. None of my kids would wait for that long. We spent a lot of money to get in and only went on one ride. There were very few rides for the six and two year olds to go on.
Probably a great place to go with teenager ...

No fountains, no shade, no place to get cool when the temperatures were in the 30s. As a consequence both my daughter and I suffered sunstroke
Isla Magica where the temperatures were in the 40s has fountains and places to get cool and we had a pleasant day there a few years ago. I don't understand why Port Adventura doesn't have these
I am sure though that it is a great place earlier and later on in the year. There seems to be plenty of rides and the furio baco was very much enjoyed (b ...

We flew from Stanstead Airport and the flight time was less than 2 hours - perfect if you have fidgety kids.
We stayed at the El Paso Hotel, a skip from the park. A courtesy coach will take you directly to the hotel.
The weather in April was not too bad. In a week we had 2 bad days of rain but it did not stop the rides or us from having fun on them!
All in all we would recommend Portaventura to our friends. It is a lovely place for a short break whether the weather is in your favour or n ...

I would highly recommend a visit any day of the week but try and visit on a Saturday because at 9pm they ask people to make their way to the lake at the main entrance where you will see a brilliant Firework Display. Get a good spot to sit so you can enjoy it properly before you leave. Honestly, it's not to be missed, it was worth the late night to hear the kids Ooooohs and Aaaaahs.
Remember you are in Spain and that Bikini tops or naked chests are not acceptable in this Theme Park but it's us ...

Everyone in our party had a wonderful time when we visited Universal Mediterranea Resort, Port Aventura in October. There were four adults and three teenagers, and there was more than enough to see and do for all! It's a good time to visit as there were no queues and the weather was still pleasant.
The park closes at 7pm at this time of year, but they put on a special show after midnight on Saturday for Halloween, and you could get in on your ordinary pass, so we didn't have to buy a spec ...

I've been a few popular theme parks like Alton Towers and Thorpe Park in the UK. PortAventura is up there amongst the best IMHO. We stayed at the Hotel PortAventura so access to the park was free throughout our stay. Excellent value for money, though our hotel room was probably closer to Reus airport than hotel reception (read: it was a long way to walk to the hotel room!). Good news though, as we were at the far end of the complex we didn't have any disturbance at all from late night revellers ...

Universal Mediterranea Resort, PortAventura is an American style theme park built near Salou and convenient to most resorts on the Costa Dorada. It would have been good value anyways, but you should look out for special offers that can make it even cheaper, we visited the Nou Camp Stadium in Barcelona a few days before we visited PortAventura and on the back of the Nou Camp admission tickets was a 13 Euro discount on PortAventura admission, while we were also given coupons in a restaurant which ...

Myself and my 2 younger sisters bought our tickets for Universal Mediterranea Resort, Port Aventura at the same time as we booked our holiday and they only cost a little more than the 3 day pass and allow you the freedom to come and go as you please and provide fantastic value.
I'd recommend buying the pass with your holiday because it takes the hassle out of things. When you have your welcome meeting your rep will give you a form which you just hand over to the park which will be exchanged f ...

Universal Mediterranea Resort, Port Aventura - We visited Port Aventura in June and thoroughly enjoyed it. We bought 14 day tickets - these didn't cost significantly more than the 3 day passes and were quite good value. This also meant we could spend a few hours at the park and come and go each day, without feeling we had to dash around and fit everything into a shorter time.
The park is spotlessly maintained and the landscaping and theming are particularly impressive. It was quite crowded ...

Universal Mediterranea Resort, Port Aventura - The best period to visit Port Aventura is in the begining of June, because the weather is nice, and it isn't too crowded.
The main purpose of our visit, was to go to Port Aventura (June 2005). You mustn't miss it. This Park is GREAT, we really do love it. Staying in the Hotel El Paso**** for 2 nights, gave us access to the Universal Express Pass which provided us:
-unlimited access to both parks (Port Aventura and Caribe Aquatic Park) fo ...

I wasn't expecting Universal Mediterranea Resort to be as good as this. I haven't has so much fun and relaxation at the same time. I went just after the schools went back so the park was quiet Monday through to Thursday. I was laughing every time I walked up to a ride and saw the the long queue mazes they had for their busy times. The longest I waited was about 10 minutes, so I got to go on everything (a few times!) and see all the shows too, something I wouldn't ordinarily do. As mentioned else ...

Universal Studios Mediterrania, Port Adventura is a massive Theme park which covers various country theme's such as the Wild West, China, Hawaii etc. We have three teenage kids from 12 to 18 years and they thoroughly enjoyed the 3 day deal with one day in the Water world next door. This gave us a chance during our 7 day holiday to visit the Barcelona football stadium and see the city sights, go to the local market and spend an afternoon go-karting. We stayed in a nearby hotel, just a 10 min w ...

Universal Mediterranea Resort, Port Aventura - What a place!!!! The park is fanastic with rides for all ages including the young ones (I went with my 3 year old and 15 month twins and they loved it!). Woody Woodpecker and friends are great and my 3 year old wouldn't leave them alone but they were very patient! The new ride Hurricane is brill but can take a while to get on so I would recommend that as soon as you arrive in the park, head straight for that one. The shows are great, especially the ...

I loved Universal Mediterranea Resort, Port Aventura. There were rides for all ages, the only thing was that the queues are tiresome, not to mention the walking around the park. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, although I feel that you would need to go on 2 separate occasions to enjoy every inch of the scenery and good atmosphere.

Universal Studios Mediterrania, Port Adventura - Upon arriving, we were told where our room was and how to get there, how to use the Key cards. The key card also gave you unlimited access to Universal Theme Park and the Costa Carib (water park), both of which were superb. While we were there, the firework display at Universal was unreal, a must-see laser show also, the park opened til twelve and all rides were brilliant, especially at night. Salou town has loads of markets (mercats in Spanish), ...

Universal Studios Mediterrania, Port Adventura - We've just got back from Port Aventura. We prebooked a seven day pass and went in on all seven days. Although we were limited by the fact we had our 2 year old with us and the height restrictions are very strict on the rides, we found that there was still enough to entertain us for 3-5 hours a day. We took in almost all of the shows, which were very entertaining even when you couldn't understand anything that was being said! Lots of rides for ...

The Port Adventura theme park is just as good as America, but on a smaller scale. The Dragon Khan especially recommended. The two resort hotels are brilliant with the best service I have received in Spain. Hotel booking also entitles you to entry to the park every day and Express pass allowing you to get to the front of popular rides.
