I am definitely a fan of the brand. It's my favorite thing in the morning to get a steaming hot cup of coffee for the road. I also like the service - the staff is always smiling and polite regardless of the customers' attitude. I would definitely recommend every branch of Costa as they are all perfect. (read more)

I used to love visiting Costa. Over the last few months I've noticed that the portion size of their cakes is shrinking. I bought a slice of carrot cake to go with my coffeee at Costa in Waterstones in Guildford last week and it was as hard as a biscuit. Took it back and got my money back. (read more)

Costa in their own mission statement say and I quote "our mission is to rid the world of mediocre coffee", this makes me smile as I think my instant coffee at home rank higher than my experience at Costa of late. Now I use to really like Costa but of late the service I have received and the poor product are for me unacceptable from such a well established brand. My last two visits have resulted in having to ask for drinks to be remade and not interested, below standard service. I have... (read more)

First let me say that there is no excusing the price American style coffee shops charge. Why we are happy to pay £3 for a coffee which costs them buttons to produce is completely beyond me - but when you're going up and down the country, the choice is limited and the company is picking up the tab, Costa is the best of the lot. Coffee The coffee at Costa has a rich (not too smoky and not too bitter) flavour. Unlike many other chains who can make a reason Americano, but have latte's that... (read more)

We go to Costa weekly sometimes as a couple sometimes with the kids. In general we are happy with the service and product but like all services it depends on the venue and the person serving. In our experience if you go to a Costa that is in a Tesco or at a motorway services then don't expect much, I don't no why but they nearly never quite make the cut. If you go to a Costa that is on its own the service is mostly good unless you are unlucky enough to get the trainee, but we all need to... (read more)

I go to Costa at least twice a week and spend a good hour in there every time I go. "You must love the place" I hear you call. Errr....No, but what Costa lacks in some areas it make up for with it's steer distribution. Every random pub, petrol station, pet shop and swap shop (in fact everyone everywhere) seems to be selling Costa these days, and luckily for my small town we have been touch by that invasion too. I say luckily, because otherwise we'd have to sit with our kids in a pub that... (read more)

To be fair, Costa does make a reasonable coffee on the odd occasion, but that is not often, and the bad coffees are bad enough that I would go elsewhere if there was a choice. My biggest gripe with Costa, and the reason I have given them only one star, is that I have made numerous complaints, two via their corporate website. On both occasions, I was given points on my card, and promised that the area manager would take it up with the store. Nothing has improved. Flat Whites & Lattes vary... (read more)

I'm a complete coffee addict and can't survive a morning without a strong dark americano of filter coffee to get me kicked off. Costa is on my way from Richmond station to the office so I occasionally pop in. The coffee itself is usually pretty good but the service is sooo slow and no matter what time of day I go there the queue is almost out of the door. I rarely drink in but when I do the decor is rubbish. Cheesy, out of date, like a cross between a Wetherspoons pub and a old persons... (read more)

I love drinking Costa Cappucino coffee and often seek them out in various locations when I'm out and about. Although the Teesside Retail Park outlet is always very busy, as an observation I often find that cleanliness is below par, with empty tables often left cluttered or not cleaned or wiped over properly usually with crumbs and bits left on the table tops. Today while standing at the counter, I pointed out to the young chap serving that supposedly clean cuttlery (two knives especially)... (read more)

The Costa coffee shop is the market leaders but I found these shops very disappointing.
The Nottingham Wheeler Gate outlet has surly service by unprofessional staff; I have been twice and have had to wait in a long queue while four other customers wait ahead of me while four staff seem to be poorly trained, poorly managed and lacking customer service skills.
The coffee is of mediocre standard and is weak. Prices are high and the drinks are not worth the price paid.
Service is surly, a male...

Hi Gary,

I am not Coeliac but am gluten and wheat intollerant. I purchased this brownie yesterday and halfed it with my husband. Half way through eating it I discovered it had wheat starch. To answer your question, they "wash" the gluten out from the wheat and put the starch which is left into the brownie. It is therefore safe for Coeliacs to eat but not people with a wheat allergy/intollerance. I have eaten Lifestyle gluten free bread before and was ill within an hour of eating it, and when I read the ingredients it had wheat starch, but still gluten free. I hope this helps. I am going to write to Whitbread and complain about this. I'll stick to Starbucks, at least their products are clearly labelled.

The Costa coffee shop is the market leaders but I found these shops very disappointing. The one in Bexleyheth Mall has been there for more than five years though I was quite happy with Bewleys, The Irish coffee shop chain. Ideally I would like a creche there as there used to be and frequent catwalks to sell the various shops clothes which are great as I have bought many items there which I wouldn't have otherwise.
The coffee is of mediocre standard and their toasties is worse. I think it...

Fantastic cappuccino from Costa! I regularly have a coffee and a raspberry and almond cake. At least a couple of times a week. It's so decadent and relaxing there in The Fort, Manchester. The atmosphere early in the morning is quiet and warming. I can read the morning papers whilst tucking into the most moist, mouth-watering cake EVER. Gotta get the recipe! Sublime! Worth the £4 for coffee and cake. The staff are really friendly and always remember mine and other customer's usual orders!... (read more)

You have not experienced a really great cappuccino until you have been to Costa Coffee Shop. You can choose this or any of their other coffees in three sizes. The large is an absolute "must have" for me every time I go in town. We are talking huge! The cup is so big it has a handle on either side! The coffee itself is sooooo delicious when you eventually get through the chocolate topped creamy froth on top! Leave the coffee to the Italians,
these Costas are just over expensive and bad quality food and cakes.
I did work there as well it's bad stay away
Go to those family private coffee shop they are way better, don't make Costa,Nero and Starbucks any richer.
