Good Points: Biggest collection of armoured fighting vehicles in the world, demonstrations on certain days, activities to keep the kids interested.
Bad Points: Currently undergoing big redevelopment that detracts a little from the enjoyment, will close off season this year while work is completed so check website prior to making journey. Can be very busy during peak season/rainy weather.
General comments: If you are really into tanks, armoured cars and all things military this really is a must, the complete story of the tank from Cambrai to the Gulf with examples from every era. As is becoming the norm if you purchase a full price ticket and gift aid it, it is valid for a years entry which is very good value (the current redevelopment is scheduled to be finished by the start of next season). Really worth going on a demonstration day as you really can't beat seeing Chieftans and Shermans thundering around the display area but during wet weather please dress for the mud!.
Should you have a spouse and or offspring not overly interested in military heavy metal "Monkey world" is fairly close by. Looking forward to a return visit next year when the very considerable redevelopment is complete.

As you walk in the exhibit find yourself in WW1 in the trenches, as you leave the German Quarters see the tank heading for the trench. Wander through the main exhibit from WW1, WW2 and The Tamiya Hall which has a wide selection of modern day tanks including Challenger 2 the tank used today by the British Army.
