Southwest.com has all the info for Southwest flights and gives the exact price of their tickets. Like all airline sites, it is slightly difficult to navigate. Also, you obviously can't compare the prices with those of other airlines. But for Southwest it's the best way to find tickets. (read more)

I am writing this from the Oakland airport. I had a ticket mixup and was looking at a $120 fee to fix it. The southwest supervisor listened to my story and gave a once in a life time get of jail card. I will be flying southwest whenever possible from now on! (read more)

I have traveled all over the mainland United States, as well as parts of Canada, Chile, and Argentina. Anywhere I go I can't get prices better than what I get through Southwest Airlines. Last year we were even able to get tickets from Utah to Oregon for only $73! Another one of the great deals through Southwest is the priority the give to families. They always take great care of us because our children fly with us wherever we go. Whether you are on a business trip or a vacation Southwest is... (read more)

Southwest is the only carrier offering direct service to Las Vegas from Birmingham. We purchased on their website. It was quick and painless and when compared to other carriers was the best value. All that and no lay overs or changing of planes. Another perk is they do not charge for bags as many other carriers now will do. Our flights were on time and efficient. Will definitely be using them and booking online for my future travels. (read more)

This is a WARNING. (I've had good experiences in the past with Southwest so I filled in stars above to reflect that, but please read ahead...) If you book your flight through Southwest Airlines' website, do NOT use their "Southwest Airlines Vacations" feature. I made the mistake of booking a flight and a rental car through that feature, thinking it would just be faster. In reality what it does is it lets a tour operator "The Mark Travel Corporation" handle your reservations and they mark... (read more)

I'm not one to really write reviews, but WOW! I had to for Southwest. This was hands-down the very BEST flight I've ever flown. Loved the open seating. The service on the plane was OUTSTANDING! The flight attendants were genuinely nice, not fake nice. I was traveling with my 3 children and they were very kind and considerate to my kids and me. I had my 1 year old on my lap and the leg room is incredible. There was plenty of space and we didn't feel squished at all. The only thing I would've... (read more)

I thought Southwest Airlines was much better compared to other airlines that fly in United States especially American, Air Tran, Spirit, US Airways etc. Staffs were friendly and flights were on time. They served beverages/peanuts/pretzels/Chips ahoy etc whenever needed. Moreover my 2 checked bags flew to my destination flew. When so many airlines are charging passengers and the stewardess being rude...here is one airline which provides a breath of fresh air. Will surely fly Southwest again. Wow! Americans sure do know how to run a low-cost airline!! If only we in Europe could achieve this! I was worried that paying so little to fly nearly 2,000 miles with a stop in between might prove a scary venture, but what a wonderful surprise to discover that Southwest is the most efficient, professional airline I have ever flown! The plane was clean and modern with plenty of leg room. Customer service was exceptional, the queing up in A B C format with numbers was efficient and there was... (read more)

When we booked the Southwest Airline tickets there was some mistake with the booking and we got billed twice on our credit card. As my husband and I were traveling a lot we did not notice this on our credit card bill and made the credit card payment. However we found out that we had paid for a ticket twice in July and sent out a mail to Southwest. They made the necessary checks and refunded the money without any hassle! They also called us to let us know that we would be credited on the... (read more)

Southwest Airlines is Customer friendly, they go out of their way to make sure the customer comes first. I travel with Southwest once or twice a year to visit family in Seattle. Flights are almost always on time, agents are helpful, and the best thing is you can change your ticket up until the day of the flight for no additional fees. I have missed flights, and they have always been able to get me on another flight the same day at no additional costs. What can I say, I love Southwest... (read more)

Although Southwest Airlines market themselves as most customer friendly airlines, I have never come across customer service which I would describe as the opposite. I got stranded at the Phoenix (PHX) airport for the whole night and they declined to provide me any accommodations or compensate for their faults. Yes, it was all their faults because of a delay in my original flight which made me miss the connecting one. Usually, most of the airlines make appropriate arrangements to accommodate... (read more)

If you're traveling with children under 4, Southwest Airlines new seating arrangement can be NIGHTMARE. I held up the line while trying to maneuver an infant, toddler, stroller and car seat by myself. In the old method, we used to get assistance and plenty of time when we PRE-BOARDED and we didn't have to hold any other passengers up while getting situation (Believe it or not, parents traveling with small children and equipment actually need more time to set up). We used to get to sit... (read more)

Even business travelers with priority seating complain because instead of avoiding noisy children, they children board after they are seated and can not be avoided once the plane is full. In considering all it's options, perhaps Southwest might considering reserving it's first 10 rows for travelers without children, and reserving the last 10 rows for families with children, so that we the travelers can have a more comfortable flight.

Southwest has always been the leader in my book but this new boarding procedure is awful. You are not only issued a letter but a number in line as well. It wouldn't be so bad if everyone in your party was in sequence but I had B11 and they had B39. It was a vacation package so it wasn't like they were two separate tickets. We were at the counter at the very same time. I felt like I was lining up in grade school. They were very short with you too and acted like if you can't get in line right... (read more)

Flight from BWI-FLL was nice, smooth. When we did encounter turbulence, the captain informed us beforehand and instructed us accordingly. Flight was on time, as usual, I've flown SWA numerous times and only had a couple delays, which we were informed of the reasons and every effort was made to get us to our destination on time. FLL-PHL was with a friend of mine, who was flying SWA for the first time and she is now hooked as well. Flight attendants used humor to make the pre-flight safety... (read more)

Southwest is a very efficient airline, with excellent customer service, and everyone I know is happy with their service and prices. I have yet to have a bad experience with Southwest Airlines in over 18 years of flying with them.
The only negatives are that they do not have the best mileage program. Also, I prefer assigned seating over their open seating and "group" method, but other airlines have a hard time beating their low fares.

I found your review unhelpful in 2 key areas. 1. Really this is about rating the overall experience of flying with the Soutwest airline, not just a single flight, or especially just being angry about their rewards program. 2. You don't give any satisfactory explanation why you gave a poor rating in any area INCLUDING their frequent flyer program. What did they change about their program that upset you? Also, did you try to contact their customer service and what was the response? That would help other people determine what kind of airline they are instead of just the generic negative comment you put in your review. I certainly understand that you are angry, but I would like to know exactly what made you angry. Thanks again for taking the time to give your review here.

I just flew on a Southwest Airlines plane this month and it was the best plane I ever flew on. I flew from Chicago Midway International to Tucson International Airport. It was a long flight but every 30 minutes a kind staff member would come and see if you needed anything. The price to get on the plane was cheap and I still got a good seat. I was on a 737 plane built on year ago. I loved the flight and it was worth it. (read more)

Southwest Airlines:
TIP: If you have Internet access and a printer you can print your boarding pass one minute passed midnight of the day you're traveling. Seating is first come first serve. You line up according to your boarding pass---line A, B, or C. Another TIP: Don't wait till they call to line up for your flight....get in line first and you can choose from ALL of the seats.
Don't expect food...you gets snacks & drinks...but for the most part that's adequate. If you need a meal...you're...
