“Disgusted with customer service”

We had a sales man call at our door in early July and after having a long chat, we decided to go ahead with having new gutters fitted to our property under the gold account pay monthly scheme. We arranged to have the gutters fitted at the end of August. The day before they were due to be fitted, we recieved a phone call from them saying that they would be unable to attaend as "the fitter was throwing his toys out of his pram". We have been in a dispute with the Fareham office since May of this year. They also never respond or return calls, when they do turn up they are hours late and bring products that are not fit for purpose. I would advise that no one uses this company as they are absolutely shocking! We were silly and took their advice on the finance and gold star package......well no surprise there that was slightly exaggerated as well so we are also taking action against the finance company who support Anglian.

Please anyone reading this don't put yourselves through what we have suffered and still suffering. Go to your local authority and find a reputable checked trader supported by the authorities.

P.S. Wonder what their logo truly stands for as that is no knight in shinning armour on that horse that is for sure!

“Extremely poor customer service! ”

Ordered aluminium windows on 12 August. Rep was nice. All good apart from the fact that it's 30 Oct and no installation date! So 12 weeks later and no news. I have spoken to about 5 different departments, made a complain, no one ever called back. Very hard to trace what happened there. Finally called the rep again in Oct, he had to pop in with exactly the same set of docs as we signed up for finance. So signed it again. Following my experience, Anglian have gone down hill since!!

If you paid money on credit card contact your provider under section 75.

Also contact the finance company and trading standards for advice.

Send Anglian a 'time is of the essence' letter stating Anglians 6 weeks requirements.

If you get as far as an installation , check the quality and condition before accepting - the items I received were damaged either during manufacture, delivery or installation - yet they still fitted the items, badly . I didn't even receive the warranty.

I wouldn't use Anglian again and would recommend Using a local window company.

I would recommend getting out of the contract, if you are able to, and find a local company to complete the job.

I had 4 different teams from Anglian and not one completed the job to a decent standard - the products came damaged and also had many defects..

If you paid your deposit by credit card, Speak to the provider ASAP. Also speak to trading standards for advice.

I used Anglian to replace some old double glazing. My house is now warmer and quieter, where some of the windows had blown - the room is even much brighter. Anglian only cost a liitle more than some of my local companies - but their product seems better. Not everyone else could show me a sample of what I was going to be buying. “What a mess !”

I have just had all my windows and doors replaced by Anglian. The product itself seems fine although not as good as I hoped, but the fitters left a lot to be desired. I was left with builders rubbish inside and out and they even left fag ends ( 11 ), rubbble, scews and broken glass on my drive and outside garden and paths. They have broken roof tiles and window tiles and they have left all sorts of rubble on my porch roof including rubber window seals ,a window lock, screws, wood and plastic… Read Full Review

Sorry to hear your issues with anglian

Anglian do employ self employed fitters - I had 4 different teams and not one of the teams was able to fit a door or window to a decent standard!!

One team came to fit a window that hadnt been made and another team didn't know how to disassemble a door (I had to advise them)!!

As you state the items are not as good as you hoped , contact trading standards for advice. If you paid on credit card or finance, contact the provider ASAP. Make sure all communication is in writing and send them a 'time is of the essence' letter, stating their 6 weeks contact terms.

I will never use Anglian windows again;. I have been inundated with unsolicited phone calls ever since I had work carried out. I have asked on several occasions for the phone calls to be stopped to no avail and have received ( on average )at least one phone call from an Anglian installer each month. I am in a legal dispute and still your sales team call and call and call!!!!!
I have said numerous times remove my details and still it continues. Even when I told a caller only yesterday leave me alone I am fighting your company in court they don't seem to get the message do they????

“Never received the estimate”

A salesman arrived as requested however after 1 hour 15 mins we had to pretend to have a prior engagement to get rid of him although he did say we would receive an estimate....2 weeks later nothing however a further salesman rang and did actually send another person round who again took measurements and promised an estimate but now over 3 weeks later we've still heard nothing. From my experience, I would recommend speaking to a local window company - the Anglian Customer service and the quality of the Anglian products is the worst I've ever encountered - IF Anglian had resolved the issues (and in a reasonable timeframe), I would have respected them, but from my point of view, I wouldn't use them ever again - the quotes I have received from local companies, have come in cheaper and I would get a 10 year guarantee!!

Over 2 years and spending hard earned cash, I am left in the position of throwing away the Anglian made items (which were only installed this year) and replacing with some superior quality local made units.

“Anglian products and Services”

In the past 2 years we have replaced all our windows and doors with the latest double glazed products, replaced the guttering, facia boards, etc and replaced tho two garage doors with roller doors. Existing windows when we bought the house in 2006 were double-glazed but there were no details of which company had done them. They were adequate but obviously from the lower end of the range and in cold winter seemed to struggle to keep the cold out. “Rude Salesman- 1 star is far too many”

Have had a few different companies come round to quote and none of them have been as rude as this guy from Anglian. Once he had actually managed to get the extortionate quotation out of his mouth (compared with the others we had round) as he could tell we were no longer interested he turned into a 'Time-Share' salesman that you used to get on holiday and took offence to the fact we wouldn't sign up. Following my experience, I would suggest finding a local recommended company - the customer service and products, I received from Anglian was extremely poor.

I wouldn't recommend them and anyone who asks about the mess left on our property, are advised of the company. All Anglian had to do was provide a quality product, fitted properly and with a guarantee - they did none of this.

After a delay due to sickness, the plan was for builders to erect a cavity wall (4th and 5th September) and then for windows and door to be installed (6th September) as well as the patio doors. I found they were a difficult company to deal with - if you paid your deposit by credit card, contact the provider immediately and advise of the situation.

I would also contact trading standards for advice.

Make sure contact to Anglian is via emails and recorded letters, for proof of discussions when taking them to court.

Sorry to hear your issues with Anglian - it looks like you've received the same poor service as I did!!.

You're lucky you have the 10 year guarantee - the products they sold me were so bad they refuse to communicate now and wouldn't put the guarantee on their own products.

If you paid on credit card contact your provider under section 75. Also contact the finance company if you took out finance.

Trading standards at your local council can also provide a valuable service.

Make sure all communication with Anglian is in writing and send them a time is of the essence letter stating their 6 week contract terms, giving them a date to put it right - this will provide the ground work for potential court action.

If you paid your deposit on a credit card, contact your provider ASAP.

“Zero customer service = zero customer satisfaction”

The initial sales visit was very good, having got our deposit the surveyor cancelled twice before completing the task. The fitters were late and made a mess. The job stood unfinished for two weeks after starting. 5 months later and two locks have broken - finding it very difficult to get an engineer to even visit let alone get the repair done. If you paid your deposit or a payment by credit card, you would be protected under section 75.

Speak to trading standards for details on your rights.

For 2 locks to break they must be cheap locks or they are fitted incorrectly - our locks were
Stiff On the many reinstallation's, but once the lock apertures wore to the lock position, it got easier!! I get frustrated having to refit the handles, as they keep falling off.

Anglian have STILL NOT emailed.
I was promised an engineer visit for 8.30 this morning (23rd Oct). No sign yet but now promised a visit for 13.30 hours.
They seem to be trying to get away with taking the money and failing to deliver a reliable product.

Yet again Anglian have let me down. NO VISIT AGAIN TODAY(23rd Oct).
For the second time I have waited in all day for a visit that didn't happen, and no notice of cancellation either. I have called them thr4ee time today and the latest promise is that they will be here on Sunday.

Dear (Customer Care Department who twice on this forum said that he had emailed me ) are you a made-up-name or a liar or did you just forget?

So last night they said that they would come on Sunday (26th Oct). Today an engineer arrived unannounced - if this were a sitcom it would be panned as being unbelievable and far fetched.

Anyway the problems were fixed in under ten minutes.
