I have owned many springers and this is by far the best, I have had it for 20 years and it shoots great looks good and I can out shoot my mates with their more modern rifles, I love it, would not sell it,swap it or exchange it for anything. .20 is my preferred choice I also have guns in .177 and .22 (read more)

I have one of the above mentioned air rifles. Have had it over 20 years and yes it's a 20 cal. Not the run of the mill .177 or .22 What I would like to know is, are they rare? Are they valuable? It shoots perfectly, powerful and low recoil accuracy. 4x32 scope mounted. (read more)

I've owned a Diana 45 for more than 25 years now, due to my nomadic life as a Foreign Service member I've carried it around the world and thanks to keeping it clean and greased in a case, it still looks and works as new. I just happened to shoot a few days ago with a much recent rifle of a friend of mine and I fell in love with the optic sights. Now my questions: is there a chance I can replace the obsolete ones of my Diana 45, with these new optic sights? Any suggestion is appreciated. Luciano (read more)

i had my first 45 in the 80s aprox 82, in 22 cal.i was in my teens and it was heavy for me and to be fair i wanted a vulcan webley.how glad was i when years on my dad had bought me the 45 instead.the quality is superb as standard.great sights powerfull, the recoil doesnt effect the shot too much and mine didnt twang or sound untuned as standard.its nearly 30 years old and still is shooting sweet.i would honestly recomend this rifle to anyone, the 70s 80s guns were in a field of their... I was browsing the internet for an air rifle and had my mind-set on a HW99S or an BSA supersports or lightning. Went into the nearest air rifle store to physically view and purchase. However store owner steered me towards this second-hand 1980 original mod 45. Atfirst I thought i was being suckered, however he bantered on about it's quality and it's similarity in performance to the legendary hw80 and i went with it and i must say it sure is a fantastic rifle for an 1980. powerful and pure... A TRUE GREAT OF ITS DAY WHICH WOULD STILL OUTSHOOT MANY OF TODAYS
GUNS VERY GOOD TRIGGER ASSEMBLY AND BUILD QUALITY, HAD MINE FOR 30 YEARS
AND ACCOUNTED FOR MANY A PESKY VERMIN
OWN A 52 FIREBIRD IN 177 WHICH
DROPS CRITTERS AT 60 YARDS HONESTLY, UPRATED THE SPRING ONCE WAS PUSHING

After asking a lot of questions about modern air rifles (my last was a Daisy 1965) I chose the RWS 45. I'm very happy with the rifle! Good sights, good power, good trigger and good accuracy. When I mount my scope those pesky squirrels had better stay inside. (read more)

I've owned a mod. 45 for over 15 years, from its inception it was powerful in it's time, its a very, very accurate springer and powerful in its time, but nowadays I wont use it for hunting, givin the more powerful guns available. But for target shooting it is hard to find a more accurate springer. (springer refers to the moving spring in this kinda gun)

My Diana MOD.45 is a 1988 version with the synthetic seals
when i got the gun it was very dry so a strip and lube was in order
quite an easy rifle to do as the trigger mechanism comes out as a whole unit
reassembled with the original main spring (no ox here as it would probably wreck the spring guide etc)
rws pellets work very well try the hollow points for
vermin and the hobby's for target with the h-points at 10 meters it goes through 3 beer cans full of water placed a few inches apart so...

The Diana MOD.45 is one of the all time springer greats. Only the hw 80 is comparable to this icon of german air rifle production. Mines still going strong and at 30 years old she's as smooth as any springer out there (no ox fitted as i didn't want to mess it up). Just gave her an overhaul the other day and the spring is ok the piston trigger is all perfect'''''''''''''yep 30 years old and just run in'' lol Good points are build quality build quality

A beautiful and extremely accurate gun I have mounted a 4x scope and having sighted it in I am consistently getting 5 shot groups in a 2 inch radius at 40 yards (with Diabolo Match grade pellets) it is way better than the two old BSA airsporters I have. (read more)

I have purchased this Diana MOD.45 gun 10 hours ago after a detailed research. Within 30 minutes I've killed three crows, one by one from at a distance of 25 yards. All the shots were deadly, that crow didn't asked for anything after the hit, came straight down to the ground.
It's better than the Shadow 1000 that I already have. I wish I could have a fiber optic viewer in it. Other wise it is a great gun to purchase.

Without doubts Diana 45 is one of the best designs of makes German, very powerful and needs. The smaller hunting becomes very amused with this weapon, much quality and guarantee.

i swapped a 1970's honda moped for a Diana mod-45 air rifle, and the only problems i have encountered were that the fore-sight keeps falling off the barrel, the rear sight has a pointless windage adjuster and the rear sight has no spring , so the rear sight comes loose after each shot.
by far the biggest problem is the accuracy of the rifle, when i look down the barrel, about 3/4's of the way down, the inner barrel is bent upwards! is there any way i can get the barrel re-bored and have a .22 caliber tube inserted to replace the inner barrel?

any comments are welcome.

Just picked up my Model 45 which I bought brand new in 1991. It has been in a hard case to keep it protected because it also has a scope. I put one .177 pellet throught it to see if it was still sighted in due to long storage to find out the barrel was bent upwards by nearly 1/2 inch. I darn near shot out my window. It seems like this may be a problem.

Try T.W.Chambers i had this problem its not your trigger its your shears that are worn
the part numbers are SRO63 & SRO62 You will have to work out which one is worn. Best of luck Paul
