General comments: I was given this rifle by my Grandfather and I must say it is a real keeper. It cocks easy but has enough resistance to give you some idea of what it can do. The .22 fires (according to the manual) at around 500ft/s (10ft/lb) but I think it's a little more than that. With a proper scope zeroed in this thing is very accurate, made a clean kill of an oversized rat from 45ft away. Use a good pellet on it. I use the .22 Prometheus pellets. They pack a serious punch and really bring the true spirit of this rifle out.
It comes in either a carbine or rifle barrel. I own the latter, and have written this review with that in mind. I don't have any first hand experience of the carbine and so, cannot comment on that.
The stock and wood construction is very solid, and has taken a serious beating, the finish is beautiful although scratches easily, so use a gun sock on it. Only needs cleaning every 6000 shots, compared to some of my others which need cleaning every 300-1000 shots. The recoil is very low and it makes hardly any noise. Silencers are no longer in production for this one but I'm having a custom one made.
I seriously recommend this to anyone interested in buying one, for the money it's a practical, affordable, sturdy as hell rifle which won't let you down. it's pretty good and being banged around and overall feels solid, it's a nice weight and is a favourite worldwide.
