We bought a Bauknecht washing machine who get broken after 2 years and 1 month . The bearing on the main axes is broken so the machine can't be used anymore . We contacted the spare parts department and the answer was that for the part we want to buy we have to pay 600CHF same price that a new machine. Then we went to the customer service and they come back with a bill of 390 CHF . In fairness looks like Bauknecht products at this time are one use and dose not last more then the warranty period . I am really disappointed and will never buy again and not recommend at all .

“No quality+no service = Bauknecht”

My washing machine broke down less than a year from purchase. Used with care and decalcifier, cleaned regularly. I called the Bauknecht service and got an appointment in 6 days. I was told the technician would come between 10am and 4pm (read: one has to take a day off to wait for him). He did not come. At 5pm on the appointment day Bauknecht called to cancel and reschedule for the following week. Same timing. Since the choice seemed to be - either keep your job or have a working washer - I asked for the technicial to call 30 min before arrival so that I can run home from work (I am lucky, on some days I can actually do that). He never called but left me a note saying that he came at 12:30pm and noone was at home. People in Bauknecht service have no comment on this but might be able to fit another appointment in a week or so. I would have to take another day off. It might be easier and chaper to get a new washer. It won't be Bauknecht.

Bauknecht WAE8987 - Water stop indicator coming on to regular when there is no fault, brushes on motor, one half worn, the other ok ???? Replaced, the motor itself arc-ing, the machine is 18 months old, it does not have to contend with heavy laundry loads every week as there are only the two of us at home now. Local engineer does not seem to keen to work on it..........was bought from Comet.

Don't touch one of these Bauchnecht WAE8987 washing machines if you want a prompt repair. We purchased a Bauchnecht from Comet 18 months ago. Our motor failed in January and Comet took over a week to come and assess the machine, quoted 10 days for delivery of the motor which then arrived a day late. We were then quoted a further week for an engineer to roll up and repair it - 25 days. Comet's disinterested reply was "we just sell the machines" when we pointed out that we had specifically asked about spares delivery when purchasing. "We can't be held responsible for what people in the stores tell the customers"!!!

DONT BUY IT!

Totally agre with this customer. Had just the same response from Comet. Zero help from Baucknecht. Buy a Speedqueen !

I guess this is more of a Comet Issue. I had a major trouble with Coventry Comet Store. Even the Store Manager of the store was not willing to help.

<br/>I have no issues with washing machine BUT major issues with Comet stores overall especially after the worst experience in my life so far.

Machine has a 'water stop' feature designed to prevent flooding, supposed to cut in if too much detergent put in or if a leak develops. This was cutting in with frequent regularity causing the machine to stop with a load inside and the display to flash A--A and F--F simultaneously. The solution - to unplug the machine, wait three minutes and remove the laundry, no further use would be possible for at least 24 hours when the machine would rest itself and a fresh cycle could be attempted. Instruction book advises you to disconnect machine, pull it out and tip forward to drain it and reset!! Is this a joke?
No help from 'Whirlpool' cusomer care when I phoned after 2 visits from 'Comet's' engineer (+ new parts) failed to find fault, very difficult to contact Whirlpool, hung on the phone for 30 minutes before I got a disinterested reply 'we ARE VERY busy! yes Whirlpool in my opinion your machines are terrible, no wonder you are VERY busy!
Back to 'Comet'. Two more visits from their engineers and laundry farmed out all over my neighbourhood. No success, offered a refund or credit note from Comet. No grouse with comet, they were very good. Buying an AEG L76669 I will keep you posted (would have bought a Miele, but door opens wrong side as does Zanussi).
