Good Points: Looks great. Very powerful for a pistol. 400fps is getting towards the same sort of power you would expect from a cheap air rifle! Can empty a full clip of 13 pellets in a matter of seconds. Very accurate using it's own sights in single action mode. Nice balanced weight. The shape of the grip makes it feel very natural to hold.
Bad Points: The screw for the CO2 canister sticks out of the bottom making it look a little odd. Trigger a little stiff in double action mode causing less accuracy. You must use flat nosed pellets, normal dome shaped or pointed pellets will not work.
General comments: As promised, I said I'd rewrite my review once I had actually fired the pistol. airpistol.co.uk were brilliant in handling the broken clip and sent me a new once in good faith without question. I was dissapointed that Daisy would let a defective unit leave their factory, but I guess these things happen...
On to the review then:
Firstly, this is the first 'real' airpistol I've owned, I used to have an old Diana break action pistol years ago, but that doesn't even come close to this Daisy 45. I've also fired plenty of air pistols and rifles through the years but never CO2 powered.
I was a little apprehensive on first use, I've never fired a CO2 pistol and didn't really know what to expect, my fears were very quickly put at rest though once I'd fired the first shot. My initial reaction was one of complete surprise, I really didn't expect it to be this powerful! Powerfull and yet easy to control with a nice little kick, but a controllable kick - I emptied the entire 13 pellet clip from around 5 yards into an area the size of a 50p coin. Not bad for a first go! For accuracy, I was using the gun in single action mode, by doing this, the trigger is much softer and means there is very little gun movment when firing.
I paid £66 for it which whilst that maybe classed as expensive considering some of the other cheaper brands and pistols, it really isn't that bad when you consider that you can fire .177 pellets in semi auto mode rather than just BB's like most of the CO2 pistols tend to do now.
The clip is easy to load and sits on the top of the gun itself and it works very well too, I fired a total of 4 clip worths in semi auto mode i.e. I was firing as fast as my finger could pull the trigger, without a single hickup.
This is what makes this gun for me, it's fun with a serious side to it, nothing beats the satisfaction of blasting something to pieces in literally a couple of seconds.
I did have a problem finding suitable pellets for it, the diablo pellets that I ordered with the gun are round nosed and will not fit, I knew something was wrong when I'd only fitted 9 pellets into the clip and had no room left. This could be a limitation, but smaller pellets mean more in a clip, so it's not a bad thing really, just something to be aware of when buying pellets for it. Also be aware that due to the mechanism involved, don't fit miss shaped pellets that have the skirt dented or pellets that are squashed oval rather than round, it just won't take them.
I bought a tin of completely flat nosed; Crosman 'Match Pell' which are olympic standard pellets and I have to say this gun fires them extremely well and is possibly why the gun was so accurate. Put more in, get more out, as they say!
The manual says that you can expect to get around 60-70 shots from a single CO2 canister, I fired five full clips (65 pellets) and the last shot felt as powerful as the first, so it would appear that there is plenty of CO2 left. Bear in mind that the CO2 is effected by the temperature, it works better in the warm than it does in the cold. Firing quickly can cool the gas and gun making it less affective, I was firing on a fairly mild day, so I would guess I got an average result. I've left the CO2 canister in the gun, and in 2 days since I used it last, there doesn't appear to be any leaks.
I have to say, I'm very happy with this gun, it was a new experience for me having learnt to shoot with rifles, but this gun made it very easy to pick up and within minutes be able to pretty much guarantee a good close grouping at 5 or 10 yards range.
By far the biggest highlight so far was taking out a mid sized rat with it at around 10 yards. I had pretty much finished for the evening and was on my back indoors when I noticed the rat in the far corner of my back yard, I froze and waited for it to get a little closer, I very carefully inserted a couple of pellets into the clip, loaded it, took aim, and POW! - have some of that - Instant vermin death, with one shot! :)
I was still grinning several hours later after that one!
There are only a couple of negatives I can see really:
The screw for the CO2 canister sticks out under the hand grip making the gun look less real. This is hardly here or there though, they had to put it somewhere and it certainly doesn't effect the guns performance in any way, in fact it's probably easier this way than if they say hid it somehow.
In double action mode, the trigger is stiffer which makes the gun less accurate. This is to be expected I guess, not only are you pulling the trigger to release the internal workings, you are also pulling back the cock mechanism; by having to pull harder, it's natural for the front of the gun to lift in the air and then drop once you actually fire it. I'm sure with practice though this could be accounted for.
In closing then, if you are after a CO2 semi auto pistol that fires proper pellets rather than BB's, and you want plenty of power with great accuracy, great looks, efficient use of CO2 (i.e. not wasted on a blow back system), and is easy to use then you won't go far wrong with this model.

I am disappointed that a manufacturer that has the reputation that Daisy do would let something like this slip through. Do they even have a QA?
Having been excited since ordering this pistol waiting patiently for it to arrive, I'm pretty fed up that I can't even use it at all yet. I now have to contact Bullnet (airpistol.co.uk) and see what happens now, I suspect I'll have to foot the carriage back to them.
I knew when I ordered it I should have ordered the pack of 3 extra cartridges...

I have the Daisy Powerline Model 45 and love it. I keep this for security in my house, and yes and air pistol can do plenty of damage to someone so if only point at something you intend to shoot. This gun will get 60 shots out of a CO2 cartridge and almost nothing more on a warm day and 15 second pauses between shots. I had to look around to get this air pistol since I bought it way after Daisy discontinued it. It won't misfire like the more modern cylinder fed pistols. The CO2 screw looks hideo ...

I brought a Daisy power line 45. It is a 13 shots pellet gun and it cost me $235 in New Zealand. It could be the most experience co2 pistol made by Daisy.
ACCURACY# The accuracy of the gun as good as my Umarex pistols. I have CP99, RECK POLICE, BRETTA 92, SMITSH and COLT 911. Only the COLT did a little bit better on accuracy compare with all my other co2 pistols.
