I played this Ibanez AF86 VLS for 1 and half hours at a local guitar shop and I just couldnt put it down! I played out of a tube amp, a marshal stack....and I loved the tone of this guitar, the feel of it was JUST right and the over all playability of it was insane! I am Going to go out and buy guitar soon...for 600 dollars why the heck not? HOWEVER! The only downside is the bridge isnt attatched to the guitar and it may slide around JUST a bit, and when putting the strings in...the tail piece gets to be a pain in the but. Over all its a great guitar, once you get past the bridge and tail piece its even better. This is great for intermidiate playes Its great with heavy distortion, works good for blues, metal, rock and roll, jazz and its worth the money for sure.

The Ibanez AF86 VLS is a starter guitar for me. I have found that it is easy to handle...feels very good in your hands. I have many friends who play regularly and led me to this guitar. I have not been disappointed.
You can't beat the looks, construction and sound for the price. I am jamming with a bunch of blues rockers and it is a great fit for the style. The sound is sharp.

I would say this guitar, the Ibanez AF86 VLS is well built, sounds great with country, blues, rockibilly and what it is made for lastly jazz. It should most definitely come with a hard protective case standard. It is worthy of it. The book matched maple top is a work of art. The pick ups are fine and the ebony based fine tune bridge make for an excellent value. I highly recommend this instrument to anyone .

I have had th Ibanez AF86 VLS for 6 months, I was looking for a good quality hollow body jazz guitar - in the final I had to choose between Hagstrom and Ibanez. I'm quite satisfied. The weakest point is the weak bass performance in the sound, also the overall sound is somewhat nasal.

I have had the Ibanez AF86 for almost a year and I would buy it again in a heartbeat, super guitar for the money, good looks and with real playability.

I was out off by 'Made in China' but trusted the Ibanez name enough to play it - I was impressed. This guitar looks and plays like instruments two and three times the price. It is a true hollow body with nice fat tone! The electronics are fine, even though I was warned about them on (apparently other) cheap guitars. Great for jazz and even rock, but it will feedback quickly at high volume especially with high gain. (That is why they invented the solidbody, right!) Overall I am very impres ...
