    Good Points:

General comments: The Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0looks good in red (people think is a sportcar!) but the clutch is rubbish, slow , drinks petrol like no tomorrow, a hard ride.
Wish i never got my coupe, selling it now (getting a boxter s )

If I can get electrics sorted, it'll be best car all round that I've ever had. But little disapointed with the car. Problems with exterior and interior lights.

After 9 years, the VAG club is angry, in the road the most cars challenge it. No mechanical an electrical problems in 9 years. Design is modern now. With 17" wheels and xenon is the best.

I bought this because it looked good (bad reason to buy a car.) The build quality is poor - the passenger side cup holder opened and wouldn't close again, the LCD display on the mileometer went wrong and when it was replaced it set it back to 0 miles (I was not warned of this before they did it). The clutch gave up after just 27,000 miles. Despite there being lots of references on the internet about clutch problems, the dealership refused to accept this under warranty. I am so fed up with this ...

The Hyundai Coupe is a city runabout with 10yrs anti rust, excellent build quality and good dealer network.
The 2l is probably the best version. Avoid the 2.7V6, there's no point as it's only got 20Hp more than the 2L, and the 1.6 is a slug.

Unfortunately looks good but fails to deliver its shark name.

The Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0 is OK for 2 up city driving, but nothing to back up its sharp styling in the whizz department.
Better cars are available for less money.

Performance wise the 2L is the best of the bunch. 1.6 is an awful slug. 3.7V6 has only 20Hp more than the 2L with all the extra road tax, insurance cost etc.

Cramped for space inside, and serious blind spots out the side and at the back.

Very dark materials in the cabin combined with a steep sloped roof make the inside a ...

This is the second Hyundai Coupe I have bought, I traded the last one in and got a very good deal from the Hyundai Dealership on my Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0. The last one I had was black and the kids called it the Batmobile! The latest one I have had since February 2006, is metallic blue. I preferred this color to any of the others. I have never had any problems with Hyundai Coupe. I have a family and the kids sit happily and safely in the back on booster seats enabling them to look out through ...

Yaaawn! It's hard to find anything to like about this Korean bucket of bolts. Sports car it ain't! Shark it sure ain't! Quickest thing about the Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0 is the depreciation. I agree with most of the other reviews. Buy something else!

The Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0 does most things ok and nothing badly or well. Average & boring thing. This model is due to be discontinued 97-98 and re-launched, mostly due to poor performance and adverse press comment. Hyundai has shown a pre-production version of the new one in Korea along with a proper 3L supercharged engine which should sort the performance issues.

I would recommend the Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0 to anyone who wants a sports car but not willing to give an arm and a leg to buy it. It's fun to drive and everything you want in a coupe. It made me get one, which I thought I would never get it because it's a Hyundai! I got it and here to give my verdict on it.

The Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0 was a bad impulse buy. I'm getting to really dislike the car. Workmates call it the tubby one, shark is an awful misnomer unless as a compliment to the dealers who flog them. If you want a cheapish coupe then a Renault Megane does all the tubby tricks and gives more space and more fizz.
Hyundai are the world's largest builder of ships and have diversified into barges with this creation, should come with a free mooring rather than a parking space.
    The fact it's a ...

Overall a great bargain for what you get. The Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0 is a good looking car, great interior. Plenty of imagination and small little add-ons give you a pleasant joy to drive. It will disappoint you on the acceleration at standstill but with a little patience, it wakes up and gives you a thrill, especially the 2.7 litre. Chicks who don't know any better think it's the bees knees but even when they know it is a Hyundai, they are still quick to jump in it with you!

This is one of the last Gen 1 cars
    2.0 16V SE
The Insurance with 9 years no clams is aproximatly £500 for an inner city address.
The fuel economy if driven gently in the city cycle will average aproximatly 25-30MPG and the same for motorway driving

Sound design and well made but no performance whatsoever. Why buy it? Auto's are either a load lugger built to work (think diesel donkers) or have a skateboard factor. This Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0 fails on both. You can't load it up, see very well out of it or burn rubber as compensation for the lack of 5 doors and a load. Looks good parked but won't impress when driven. Apparently built from other models in the current Hyundai range, mostly Accent under the body panels?

The Hyundai Tiburon is an average car with high reliability which won't bust the bank or set the world on fire.
Styling is either like it or hate it.
Loads of them about so no servicing / spares problem.
Image problem: viewed in some quarters as the modern version of the Ford Capri.
The chav's will have a field day with 'styling' these in a few years when s/h prices come down.

Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0, a good for posing but don't try to mix it with any warm to hot hatch..or standard medium performance car.

Sheep in Wolf clothing. Any decent hot hatch driver will die laughing. Performance cars will eat the Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0. It's not cheap either. I assume if you buy a 2 door Coupe then you want to drive it quickly? In this case better cars exist that actually perform far better than this lump for less money. Driving position suffers from big B pillars that restrict view and parking isn't easy due to the restricted view out the back due to the steeply raked roof.

This Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon 2.0 is built to impress! Everyone looks, not quite sure what it is! Looks far more expensive than it is. Honestly, I would rather drive this than a Celica! The interior is as impressive as the exterior with leather seats and impressive dash, and the driver seat is fully adjustable making driving a real pleasure. A car to pose in, it even has a holder in the roof for your shades! Driving is believing. Well done Hyundai.

Have owned the 2006 Hyundai Coupe / Tiburon for 2 months. It is a fun car to drive. People are impressed with the car's appearance and styling. They are always amazed to find out it made by Hyundai. The Shiftronic automatic makes the car very responsive when entering and driving in freeway driving. The gas mileage has been above 22 mpg in town driving. My driving consist of about 40% highway driving at speeds above 50 mph. I bought the GT Limited edition and it is well equiped. Test dri ...

The review is based on Hyundai Coupe / Tiburon 2.7ltr V6.
But 2.0ltr was just as good.
    165 bhp from V6
    145 from 2.0
