I visited Caernarfon store to do my Christmas shop. It's a small store with an even smaller car park which is regularly log jammed with cars trying to park. I did my shop in a busy store and then joined the massive lines at the till. It took quite some time to be served but hay it's christmas. I finally left the shop and loaded my car. Then I had to wait while cars blocked the car park looking for parking spaces. I finally left. Today, 31at Jan 2018 i receive a parking fine for £100 for overstating in free parking for 13mins !! £100 !!!!! omg if youd of staffed your store during this peak season with enough people on the tills and ensured people didn't block the car park then I wouldn't of overstayed by 13mins. And you want £100 reduced to £60 if I pay by the 7\2\19. Me overstating is down to your company not having enough staff on the tills so is this your way of making even more money out of your customers ?

Went into the Wrexham store today bought a notebook the cashier scanned it I gave her the money. Then I stood there waiting for my receipt and change she then said to the person behind me do u need a bag. I’m still standing there for my receipt and change I then asked her for it and she started rummaging in her bin for it then said to me what did you buy. The notebook she just scanned a couple of seconds ago. I then told her to forget it and was then shouted at that I was a horrible person by the customer she was serving that rammed her trolley into me at least 3 times by the tills and her. Sorry but this is basic training giving the customer there receipt and change. Will never shop at that store again .

Purchased two ready to eat salad bowls, opened them that evening everything was wet and soggy uneatable. The shop would have been closed at this time so could not take them back and working the rest of the week so emailed customer services, you cant ring them. Got a reply 2 days later asking for a photo, why would anyone keep 2 bowls of soggy uneatable and by this time rotting salad? Informed them I did not have them received an email back saying without a photo they would do nothing, not even refund under £2:00 for the salads. God help anyone who buys anything expensive from them and needs a refund. Avoid this store at all costs there are plenty of other places out there they do not deserve any customers if this is the way they treat them.

I went to my local store to buy food and fire lighters I asked for them to give me a free bag for the fire lighters in order to stop contamination of petrol from them I was refused so I sent there head office a email this was there reply. (Home Bargains Support) 25 Apr, 11:05 Thank you for your query. I can confirm that bags would not usually be charged for by retailers, according to Government law, if the following applies: You’re not required to charge for plastic bags that are for: -uncooked fish and fish products -uncooked meat, poultry and their products -unwrapped food for animal or human consumption - eg chips, or food in containers that aren’t secure enough to prevent leakage during handling -unwrapped loose seeds -flowers -bulbs, corms or rhizomes (roots, stems and shoots, such as ginger). -goods contaminated by soil (like potatoes or plants) I'm afraid firelighters are not included in this list. More information can be found here: guidance/carrier-bag-charges-retailers-responsibilities#bags-youre-not-required-to-to-charge-for I hope this information helps, but if we can be of assistance in any other way please don't hesitate to get back in touch with us. Kind Regards, How about that I will not shop there again.

not very helpful whilst returning faulty goods. my elderly parents bought a window cleaning kit which was faulty. they did not have a reciept and were refused point blank an exchange. working in retail i know that an exchange could have been done. keep hold of your money especially if you are a pensioner.

was minding my own business shopping. I had a baskwt full of toiletries. Ten minutes into my shop I was pulled up and asked if I had put shampoo in my bad. I was so confused. The staff member told me someone reported me putting it in my bag. I give both my bags to the staff to fully check. No shampoo was found. I was curious to who could of said such a false thing. I was so embarrassed and shown up in front of people for them to apologise to me. I wish I was told who it was because I would of reported them for humiliating me for a false accusation. I couldn't even think that I even looked suspicious or as if I was stealing. I was happily shopping with my 5 year old daughter. I do wish someone could be done as I will not be shopping here again! The staff should also not of pulled me up until leaving if suspected of stealing.

On the 21.11.15 I purchased a packet of Premium Cashew Nuts....after eating them I had an upset stomach. I looked at the back of the packet to find they had a Best Before Date of .......30.9.2013....yes over 2 YEARS OUT OF DATE....and out of date nuts are dangerous to eat....their answer was we can't understand how it got there....I had the receipt and the packaging with bar code....I thought that was how you traced a product....obviously not.....or is this why the owner is a billionaire....selling out of date stock more reputable stores would have destroyed. So be careful it isn't a bargain if it's bad!!!

Right then!! I work at the newly opened distribution centre in Amesbury. Well what a complete cesspit of bullying/exploitation & misery. This place runs completely on fear and veiled threats, this must derive from the little manager training camp in Liverpool. The managers are a power crazed egotistical bunch, completely inflated with their own belief Of self importance. No true professional would want to work here. There are prison bars around the toilets, (yes, you are timed and have to clock in & out to use the loo!) To come in to work, you clock in at a barred turnstile, you then have a locked door which you open with your clocking in card, you then go through another set of barred turnstiles which you clock in at again, you then show your face at a window and a human clocks you in on a computer, finally you get to your last clocking in point!! The supervisors then often form a human barrier which you have to walk through and again they tick you off on a list. You will then work, and you will not speak to anyone, you will not laugh, you will simply work alone for 7.30 hours. A lot of the staff are young and are perfect candidates for a bit of in house Home bargains bullying. The only staff incentive scheme is if you report your colleges for theft!! (who would want to steal the cheap imported rubbish, i dont know?) The pay is not to bad and the staff canteen is fine but during an 8 hour shift, by the time you get out & served you have approximately 20 minutes (the bare legal requirement) If you need to see or speak to anyone in payroll/HR/or literally anyone, you do this in your own time. The managers swear & shout at the youngsters. I arrived one day and the staff were all chatting at the changeover, a manager was literally shouting MOVE!! MOVE!! MOVE!! MOVE!! like you would to cattle, god knows what would have happened if he had a cattle prod!! You dont report any bullying from management because this is clearly what Jo Morris wants. I know staff who are to afraid to use the toilet whilst on their shift. One young lad said to me that he worked elsewhere before & it was less money but he was happy & had a bit of a laugh. A lot of the staff have been unemployed for a long time and were literally desperate for a job, others went to Home Bargains because they could not get a job elsewhere for certain reasons, T J Morris certainly exploits this desperation. The one thing that really stands out about this place is the atmosphere, complete misery! I really miss the sound of laughter, you never hear it. When you walk past the staff leaving their shift, they all have a glazed expression, and look like zombies. This place really is a modern day work house and on a serious note, I would not want a child of mine to work here. There are often shift changes where the staff finish at 10.00pm at night and have to be back by 6.00am the next morning, this has been questioned as to its legal aspect, but apparently Joe Morris is above any of that nonsense. The staff turnover is ridiculous & Jo Morris must be spending a fortune on recruitment, what a businessman!! Jo Morris has a helicopter pad at both Liverpool & Amesbury, this seems rather extreme. This man has certainly done very well for himself, its blatantly clear he has a deep distrust of his staff & at what cost has his wealth come???

The managers at Biddulph home bargains are absolutely disgusting. They treat the staff like something you wouldn't step on . I am appalled by how I have witnessed how they speak to people and actually bringing them to tears ( disgusting ) They are barely old enough to be out of nappies, so I have no idea what TJ Morris's training to become a manager is . Probably being able to dress themselves without help is sufficient. They actually think that people respect them but little do they know that they are a laughing stock.

Great review of home bargains above... I witnessed a so called manager in BIDDULPH store telling one of the assistance to take a sweet out of their mouth before the person had even started a shift. If that isnt bullying i dont know what is... If that had have been me i would have spit it in his face.. Whoever chose that to be a manager needs to take a course on choosing people.. DISGUSTED

I love the products although some are rubbish quality. My issue is with some staff. They impatiently wait while you pack your Bags and never offer to help. The card machine was not working and I was made to feel guilty for it. When I came back with cash was told to take my things and get them rescanned at another till. I asked if the transaction had not been saved and was bluntly told no.

I tried to return a length of reed fencing that was broken into several bits. The managers response was lousy saying he wouldn't exchange or refund the good as a previous customer had returned the goods and it was marked as such on the packaging.

Assistant deputy manager insisted we needed a receipt for return of a faulty pet toy that fell apart in 5 minutes. It was dangerous and could have caused dog to choke but all she was concerned about was the fact we could have bought it from Tescos! Tried to explain that we didnt need a receipt ... we had ccard stub plus witness. I had a trolley load of shopping that I left there unpurchased as we were so disgusted by the staff's attitude. Talk about needing training in customer relations! For G's sake the item cost £1.99 - they lost two customers and a sale of £35! Still what do you expect if a company employ youngsters on minimum wage and no common sense!

I have had a dreadful experience with Fire logs purchased from Home Bargains - two placed on top of my dying fire twisted and caused the fire front to fall forward. The logs burned my marble and granite fire and could have caused a serious house fire had I not stayed in the room and tried to push back the fierce flames. I have tried to get someone to deal with this, not one enquiry about the state of me or my fireplace, no-one has asked to see the damage. They have though offered me a free palette of fire logs. I have used fire logs many times before - though not this brand, there is no warning on the pack that they expand SUBSTANTIALLY. I have had an open fire in my home for the 25 years I have lived here so I am not a novice and I am careful. I am shocked by the lack of care and communication and feel that someone in this company needs to take this complaint seriously.

You should sue Home Bargains. Write to their manager/Head Office because you are obviously a good customer and have been treated abysmally.
