I have been using Textlocal for almost 2 years now and i started using their standard platform for sending text to my customers. Since our integration to on our new Telecoms Platform we have added their API so when a invoice is generated it would send a text to the customer explaining that their invoice has been created and the due date. Been using text local for over 2 years, the best thing we as a community group have done for communicating with our clients. With one button we are in touch with over 250 people. Easy to buy credits and it tells you where and when you're sending text. If I had any feedback it would be to add more than 160 letters. (read more)

Hi,
The limit of a single SMS is 160, and is defined by the networks/mobile phones. You can though send more than one message in one go, which gets bundled together so the end user only sees one long message. These messages are multiples of 153 characters (the 7 extras as used to join the message together).

It's really easy to set up inboxes, uploading names and numbers, tailor all SMS to my different participants; I don't know what I'd do without it! Also, the team are really helpful whenever I have a query, and have helped me out when I made a couple of mistakes with my keywords. I have found text local very simple and easy to use. it is one of those products that does what it says it does unlike other companys. It gives us the ability to keep them in the loop constantly with what is happening on a specific job and how we are going about getting them up and running again. Very very simple to use, super easy to import contacts from an excel spreadsheet. Makes it super easy to send messages out to the groups you can set up, even personalising each message with fields from the contact lists. So easy to send a message, reports are great for catching the people on your list with incorrect old numbers. Great! really easy way for our technician to txt customers when doing call backs and they do not answer the phone. just pop in a simple template asking the customer to call back if they still need help with the reference number and hey presto a record of customer contact. Also add the web site to the end of the text to increase a bit of traffic. Cheaper than the O2 service we had with more functions. We are able to inform them when their item is ready for pick up without having to engage in lengthy time consuming conversations (we do that anyway when they come in).
