“superb lttle scooter”

I was looking for a cheap 2nd hand 50cc scooter preferably 2 stroke for ease of maintenance and tuning potential so I scoured ebay , gumtree etc and found a non runner 2001 that had been 90% restored (no expense spared) being sold on ebay , I decided I`d go to £300 on it and won the bidding at £280 , best money I have spent for years , well made , stylish , reliable , (non starting was just a blocked jet in carburettor) , I derestricted it at 1st and it would zoom up to around 45mph so fine for town riding not stuck in the gutter as with 30mph restricted scoots then decided to go for a 70cc cylinder kit and 17.5mm carb and wow ! it now shoots along at 55mph no problem and is away from the lights like a rocket. The Malaguti Firefox in my opinion is one of the best liquid cooled 50cc scooters ever made along with the Gilera Runner , very easy to work on , parts are readily available and the sweet little Minarelli engine is a peach , very reliable (my friend`s one has done 55000 kms !!) and easy to tune if you want a bit more oomph . Front and rear disc brakes make stopping very safe , electric start is good as is auto choke and Malaguti had the foresight to weld a loop on to the frame on right side so a security chain can be used , under seat storage is pretty good too . All in all it`s a joy to own and I doubt I will ever part from it , highly recommended .

“i love this bike!”

★★★★★

written by mikeycook94 on 16/09/2011

Well where do i start... I got the bike back in may, it needed a bit of work doing to it to get it through a mot, i put a new back trye on and break pads on back and a new battery. I took it for a mot and it failed on fork seals! I was absolutely guted. So i picked up some forks for £82 and a new stand for £40. flew straigh through mot! The bike cost me £200 and i most of spent £200+ getting it road worthy. Was so worth it though. Now the bike has a leo vince tt exhuast derestricted, polini belt, racing variator with 2.7gram racing rollers and a racing clutch springs! bike does 57 on a flat.. very fast for a 50cc! I absolutely love the bike.. i let my mates go on it and they say to me... "dude what the hell have you done to this? Its rapid!" Aha easy bike to control and very relaible :) any 16 year would love one!

Never had a bike below 750, apart from a Suzuki 200 I borrowed to take my test back in 71. I sold my 750 bonny to my mate and he gave me this F15 to make room in his garage, I've had so much fun on this scoot, its been so reliable despite being thrown down the road several times by its first spotty owner, and done 11,500 miles now. I went out and bought a Phantom max 125, much less fussy being a four stroke but the build quality is every bit as good will do 85 no problem, but I do miss that light fussy go anywhere F15. Ho hum

I owned a lot of scooters (Peugeot Speedfight 2, Piaggio nrg, Piaggio nrg mc3, Aprillia Amico, Yamaha Aerox) but these all don't reach the comfort and handling of the Malaguti Firefox 50 F15!! It's comfortable, not too heavy, cheap, easy to handle and looks great!

Ive had my Malaguti Firefox 50 F15 for 4 months and it's the best 4 months of my life! It is very fast and nippy! Restricted it goes about 40mph but I de-restricted mine and it goes about 60mph and that's fast for a 50cc. It is a great scooter and all 16 year olds should buy one.
