Good Points: The appearance if very good compared to other cornets.

Bad Points: It's very light weight therefore its tone quality is not very good, and it's over all quality is not the best either.

General comments: Cornets are great to have if you're playing in a wind ensemble, but of course there are some better then others. This particular cornet is not one that you would want to go buy for higher level playing such as high school or above. Because of the way it's made this cornet is lighter than most others. Now for carrying around it's great, but as far as playing goes lighter cornets lack the tone quality other heavier cornets have and also don't respond to what your doing as well either.

I was looking for a quality cornet to play the traditional cornet music in a community (wind) band, and I found this quality in the Jupiter 520MS Bb cornet. I do not play professionally, but I take my music hobby very seriously, so I wanted a cornet of better-than-acceptable quality at a budget price. Note that a professional would probably want to spend the required $1300 more for a pro Schilke or Kanstul cornet.

The Jupiter cornet matches the intonation of a pro cornet, but it's light weigh ...
