Good Points: After a painful period of closure following the retirement of the previous owners Buffs is open for business again - similar style as before better choice and brilliant quality food.
Bad Points: Too close to my office - far too tempting particularly as there's almost 30 wines by the glass. Decor is a little tired but when the service, welcome and food is this good who cares?
General comments: Buffs is a brilliant hide-away bar/restaurant with stripped wooden tables and floors seating currently around 50 comfortably. The staff are great, enthusiastic and welcoming and the food cooked to order by the owner - beautifully! The salad garnish is fresh and sprightly and everything tastes and looks freshly made - which it is.
Having been closed for some time and slightly off the tourist beaten track it's a perfect haunt for discreet lunches - particularly as there are two courses available at only £4.95.
The daily menu is a lot pricier so go for the specials which are gloriously good value.
