Good Points: High fall rating. Superlight. Wide gate opening. Hot forged metal. Neat finish with good shape. Made in Wales
Bad Points: Screwgate sticks like a bitch!
General comments: Overall a fantastic karabiner. These rrp at £8 but i managed to pick mine up for half price at the outdoors show in Birmingham. The basic technical specs are:
Weight: 58g
Gate opening: 22mm
Hot forged
Major axis: 28kn
Minor axis (cross loaded): 8kn
Open gate: 10kn
Oh yeh, made in Wales :D
So far mine has been hassle free but I find when trying to undo with sweaty hands from a scary belay imposible, the screw on the gate really does stick. However this problem is easily solved by oiling the screw lightly with silicone gun oil.
These are ideal for all climbing needs as they are simple, effective, lightewight and cheap. A perfect beginners piece but suitable for all including high mountain climbing.
