Good Points: Unique design, utility, space management (small outside, big inside), quality, reliability, fuel consumption, value for money, safety, driving characteristics, room for tuning (TDI engine).

Bad Points: a few items only available optional, such as ESP.

General comments: Very happy with the car. Before I owned a 1.9 TDI Fabia estate, which preformed flawlessly through everything I drove her trough. I had doubts roomster will provide the same level of joy, reliability, economy and usefulness. Now the doubts have gone. I'm 100% happy and wouldn't trade it for anything.

When confronted with the fact that my Skoda Fabia 1,9 TDI will need a replacement due to a high mileage (200000 KMS in 4 years), I dug myself into catalogues in a search for a similar, yet slightly bigger vehicle. On the trial between C-max, Meriva, Kangoo, Xara picasso and the new Fabia combi, Skoda Roomster 1,9 comfort (3) came out winning. And after 3000 Kms on the dial, I find my decision right in every aspect. Great family-allround-utility vehicle of a very good quality for a decent price.

It's a funny looking car, especially in photos, but better in the metal - and you get used to it! A very civilised machine - does everything well and should be reliable with VW engine and gearbox. No problems in first 15,000 miles. If you want more performance there's plenty of scope for tuning, I'm sure, but I wouldn't want to spoil the excellent economy. I didn't choose low profile tyres but they're fine, giving good handling without a bumpy ride. The best car we've ever had - in 50 years!
