There was a mouse in the dining room over a 4 night period, when we went to the rep she said she would sort it out and she never. There was a rat in the pool bar which i find disgusting, the gardener brought out an rat in a cage from a bush that was behind the hildrens play area then proceded to show to passing people and children. The food was repeated day after day. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Also the room was imaculate. (read more)

Nice hotel staff were nice and rooms were clean. The food wasnt the best but if you looked you could find at least one thing that you could eat. The sea was really good with tropical fish and snakes in it! Camel rides on the beach were good too. Went with our 2 year old and he loved it. Would go again (read more)

The Radisson Sas Taba is absolutely amazing. I got back weds 27th, but didn't want to go home. All the staff are really nice, although you should watch out for sales techniques. The Italian restaurant was amazing, we ate their every night as the other food place was always packed. It has a great atmosphere in the Italian, the manager was absolutely lovely and a great help. A great relaxing holiday!!
The weather was heaven, there was a constant breeze from the sea and constant sunshine........On the last two days of our holiday the sea breeze stopped and the temp rocketed to over 40 degree the breeze that did blow felt like a fan on hot setting, so when we do venture back to this part of the world we shall make sure we don't go any later that mid June.

There was plenty of shade by the pool for my son and friend (fair and ginger variety LOL) and the swim up... (read more)

“RADISSON SAS TABA ”

RADISSON SAS TABA
MAY 19TH - 26TH 2006
THOMSON ALL INCLUSIVE

Having just returned from Taba, I thought I best set the record straight!

Before we went I'd done all the usual - read all the reviews, thought phew when I'd read a good one and lay awake worrying when ever I came across a bad one. I can safely say now there is no need to worry!

The hotel is a total paradise; it's literally an oasis in the desert!

The rooms are large, well equipped with TV, safe, fridge, bath and power shower... (read more)

This was the best holiday we have ever had, and one week was not enough. The staff at the Radisson SAS Resort hotel in Taba, Egypt are wonderful, friendly, fun and helpful. The resort was well laid out, and we enjoyed playing tennis and jogging around the jog path. The sea was out of this world for snorkeling. We did a two day trip to Cairo to see the Cairo museum and the pyramids, although this was tiring, we were very well looked after. We will definitely be going back. (read more)

We had a fabulous time at the Radisson SAS Resort hotel in Egypt. Initially we were quite put off by some of the reviews, but they are rubbish. None of us were ill. Rooms are cleaned daily, and our suite was lovely. The animation team try their hardest, but it's too hot to get people really motivated. My kids loved them, and joined in pool games etc. The kids made a lot of friends. (Thanks to Abraham etal). Radisson SAS is an experience, multi national and quite beautiful all times of... Written on: 20/04/2006

A very good review thank you. I am pleased that you emphasised the prices issue as Africa/Asia/Egypt has many visitors from emerging countries such as Russia whose visitors often expect (and can only afford) third world prices. For example, most Egyptians are effectively prisoners within their own country and know nothing of the West, or our pricing structures, and consequently assume that prices can be hiked up ad infinitum! You are correct about us having to communicate and perhaps set good examples. I personally had to explain to my hotel that its price for poor white wine (before its final account was duly uplifted) was twice the cost of U.K. champagne! I also found myself explaining that although only workers in their country ate vegetarian/vegan food many of their visitors welcomed it. I was however a little sad to read your comment about 'rubbish' other reviews. I believe that most people try to write honestly, and also standards are occasionally improved in the face of bad reviews. So reviews can quickly become outdated: A year ago reviews may have advised that Sharm was one of the most dangerous places on earth. Now its security is possibly second to none.

The Radisson SAS Resort hotel in Taba is very big, and it has its own jogging track, which will let you know roughly how big it is. The beach is lovely and very close to the hotel complex. The restaurant food is the usual all inclusive food, which is buffet style food kept warm in bain-maries (wasn't too bad, sometimes cold). Although this hotel has a wide variety of live cooking stations which will cook you pasta/spaghetti to your liking, you can also get freshly cooked food, including... (read more)

The Radisson SAS is what you would expect. Little things which make a difference - such as your baggage being taken to and from your room. If you are a wine drinker, take some with you as this is only served with your meals. To buy wine there is very expensive as I said in the bad points, £15 is the cheapest bottle they have. Also if you would like a cup of tea or coffee in your room, take a travel kettle and all the necessaries as these are not provided in the package. Towels are provided... (read more)

Should you want a holiday which consists of sun, sand and sea, Taba, Radisson SAS Resort is the place for you. However, my advice is, not to go if you have teenagers accompanying you as there is absolutely nothing for them to do in the evenings. Taba, Radisson SAS Resort - We had a nice week at the Radisson SAS Resort. The setting is fantastic, the hotel is nice, although not 4/5* as we were led to believe. I think the star ratings in Egypt are different to ours in England as they go up to 8*. My teenage son and I have just returned from the Radisson in Taba. The food was very good for an 'all inclusive 'resort - outstripping many in mainland Europe. The holiday was far more relaxing and 'chilled out' than spending time in the company of Brits in Spain or the Greek Islands - or the States! Even the disagreeable Israelis could not ruin this holiday. Mount Sinai at dawn is simply wonderful. I agree that the customer relations manager was a pompous fool - but she was French!! We would both recommend a holiday here. The snorkelling and diving are great, my tan is delicious, and neither of us, seasoned travellers, suffered the slightest twinge in the tummy.

We also stayed as a family of 5 between the 2nd and the 16th of August. We did not have the same experience. We had a fabulous room over-looking the sea, and witnessed fantastic sunsets over the mountains and sunrises over the sea. We also went scuba-diving and snorkelling just off the jetty from the hotel. We swam with barracudas, turtles and manta rays. There was not much of a kids club, and the night life was slightly disappointing. Very hot, with an evening 'breeze' (more like a wind) which felt like the heat from a hairdryer on low. The food was not amazing, but satisfying enough. There was only 1 barbecue while we were there. The swimming pool bar was great, and the best way to drink the local spirits is as cocktails! The trips were really exciting, but expensive. You can go camel riding, into Jerusalem, the pyramids, into Jordan and on a safari. Overall, it was enjoyable-not 5 star in every aspect, but it’s a new hotel.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Radisson for 2 weeks in July 2003. The complex itself is excellent. I am quite stunned to read some of the views on this site (particularly the 1st review) as our experience at the resort was superb. There were many positives from this holiday. Our room was clean & spacious with an incredibly comfy bed + the air-con was excellent (although a bit loud!) The hotel staffs were helpful and friendly throughout, particularly when I was ill for 24 hours. The... (read more)

Taba, Radisson SAS Resort - We would not stay at the Radisson SAS Taba again even if they said it was free. The food was unsatisfactory, bread was stale, and meals were based on chicken cooked in a different way each day/night. We paid on the second evening for a la carte, this was no better, the head chef said it was a bad night! We did not go back. For the rest of our holiday we had 1 meal a day at the poolside restaurant, a club sandwich with chips, which we had to pay for, we tried... (read more)

We stayed at the Radisson SAS Resort on our second visit to Taba, having previously stayed at the Marriott. It is a wonderful resort if you wish to chill out, enjoy the sun, watersports and make friends. If you need more than this leave the resort to us. No lager louts despite free drinks, in fact no drunks at all apart from a visiting conference of Polish, but they caused no trouble at all. Live and let live and enjoy Egypt for what it is. Taba is fantastic value for money and one of... (read more)

I had the pleasure of staying at Radisson SAS Resort for 1 week in April of 2004. After reading the reviews on this site I was filled with apprehension and concerns over quality and safety in the resort- on arriving there, all of my fears had been put to rest. The resort was clean, well presented and catered for all of mine, and my partners, needs. The staff were friendly and the resort, as a package, exceeded all of my expectations.

Whilst staying at the resort I went on 2 excursions, the... (read more)

I have booked my son and I into the Radisson during August this year, and am beginning to regret my decision from the reviews I have read on this site.

Nn1's Response to chambeap's Review

Thank you for writing in with this review. We are due to fly out to Taba and the Hotel Radisson SAS in 5 days time and we were getting very worried.
But in reality we heard terrible reports about the island we stayed at in the Maldives a couple of years ago ........ and that was spectacular.

Maybe it's just about peoples' expectations and basic state of mind; whether they exaggerate when voicing their complaint and whether they were listened to when they initially said they were unhappy.
Hopefully this will have been at the hotel giving the staff a chance to put things right instead of waiting until they get home to whinge.

Taba Radisson SAS Resort - I had the "mis-fortune" on first day of arrival to be stung on thumb by a very dangerous scorpion of the -andronicus?- family !!
about 5-6 inches long , yellowish colour. Scorpion was inside a poolside umbrella. Violently ill followed by 2 days of excruciating pain, arm numb for further 3 days. These creatures will kill children or elderly people. No warnings anywhere of such dangers. Please take care if going there with children. Radisson not really interested... (read more)

This hotel has a 4*. I was told by the local managemente that I was not to expect a Radisson 4* in Egpyt to be the same as a Radisson 4* anywhere else in the world. The Egyptian Radisson 4* really means 2* in the rest of the world. Not very helpful for disabled guests as not one member of staff every offered to get food or drinks. One bar did not open until 10.00pm and finished serving "all inclusive" drinks at 11.00pm often the bar staff stood arms folded refusing to serve drinks until... (read more)

Taba Radisson SAS Hotel was very clean and modern in a new location
at taba on the beach. A new complex is being built.
Food was poor with very little choice from a 4* plus hotel. Drinking glass' were dirty/damaged and
bar arrangements need re arranging as there is only a pool bar or "pub" type of bar with pool table in. (read more)
