The Playa Olid Apartments in Costa Adeje are lovely and clean, with plenty of space, and there is a nice balcony area to eat on or just relax and have a cup of tea while you read the paper. The rooms are cleaned 5 days a week, with clean towels when you want them. There was a pool with a snack and drinks bar next to it, and everywhere was clean and tidy. Generally a nice place to stay.

The beach was only a 10 - 15 minute walk down the hill. There was a cafe a few doors down called The Splendide, which did a lovely all day breakfast with the most gorgeous bacon. When you get down to the beach you can hire a couple of sunbeds and a parasol for 12 Euros for the whole day, and you will also get waiter service all day, so you don't even have to get up for a drink. We had great fun hiring a pedalo out for an hour for 12 Euros, and parascending for 30 Euros. We would highly recommend doing the 4.5 hour trip on the Freebird 1 catamaran. For a family of 4 it cost nearly 200 Euros, but it was well worth it to see 2 families of pilot whales swimming around our boat, and then to stop at a secluded cove for a swim in crystal clear waters then back on the boat for the journey home. You could drink all you wanted for free. You also had a meal on the way out to Los Gigantes.

Back on the resort at night time there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. The best one we found was by the marina just before you got to the shops, then we would walk back round to the main area where there was a family bar which had karaoke and later entertainment. There was an outside seating area which overlooked the sea and beach if you wanted to have a cigarette, as it was no smoking in the bar.

Overall we had a lovely holiday where we got to relax and have fun. I would recommend Costa Adeje for a family holiday.

Unfortunately, we did have one thing that blighted our holiday. Stupidly, we did not bother to hire a safe, as we took everything of value with us, except for one day when my son left his wallet containing 150 Euros on the lamp table next to his bed. On our return he found his wallet on the floor empty. On our discovery, we contacted reception who basically did not want to know, so we decided to talk to the manager when he got in the next day. The next day the manager was nowhere to be found, so we spoke to the woman on reception who was very unhelpful and saying it was our own faults. We decided to warn others to hire a safe if you stay here, and leave your keys in the lock when you go to bed.

On one of our days we decided to go to the much publicised aqua park, which was OK. I wouldn't go again though, and I wouldn't recommend it to any one either. It was very over priced for what it was, and when you got in, half of the rides required an inflatable ring, which you then had to hire on top. Then you had to hire sunbeds and lockers. After about 2 hours we had had enough and decided to go home.

We found it very difficult to find anything healthy to eat, so if you don't like junk food or Chinese food don't go there, but as we only went for a week it was OK.

We would go back to Costa Adeje, but we would find somewhere else to stay after the way we were treated by the reception staff after the theft.
