Good Points: This is safe, well made, easy to fit in the car (just feed the seat belt thought two large holes). There are no fiddly clips, and it is comfortable. I paid £111.99 from boots.com. It was on offer, and considering it will keep my child safe for over 11 years, it is very good value for money. It also looks good, and it offers good visibility for child.

Bad Points: Can't recline the seat once fitted. That said, the restraints and head support hold the child so well that he/she can sleep in an upright position without their head falling forward, which I was concerned about. It can be put in recline without removing the seat belt from the car seat -- just unclick the seat belt, lift the seat, flip the hinged wedge and click the seat belt.

General comments: We chose the Britax Evolva 123 Ultra VAL DISERE (which is red, black and grey) car seat for our 9 month old. We did have concerns that he would be too small, but as it goes, I had to adjust the head/shoulder restraints in order to accommodate him. The seat looks great, and it can be fitted in my Peugeot 306 hatchback 5 door in under a minute, and removed in less time once you get the hang of it (recommend watching the DVD included, as it shows the best technique for fitting). Great if you have two cars. The seat has two elastic straps on either side, which hold the harness straps back so you don't have to pull them from behind your child once seated in the car. Also, the five point harness has an indicator which tells you when the harness is tight enough to hold your pride and joy safely. As your child grows, the head support is raised easily, which in turn raises the shoulder straps. Once your child is big enough, the five point harness is removed and your cars three point harness is used to restrain your child.

I would definitely recommend it, as it got our sons approval on his first trip, as he was sleeping within five minutes.

We wanted a car seat that offered excellent side-impact protection, comfortable for our son and also a seat that looks good!

He is a small 3-year old, so he too still uses the 5-point harness. This seat will easily grow with him - the adjustable head support & high wings offering excellent protection. As he grows, the 5-point harness will be stored away (underneath the seat) and the regular seat belt will be used - threaded through the bright red guides in the seat.

Bought this Britax Evolva 123 Ultra Car Seat for our 3 year old daughter. She is on the light side so she still needs the harness. The seat fits securely in our Focus Estate, but it was a struggle to work out how the seat belt snakes around the seat at first.

It is not possible to use the recline position without undoing the seat belt, so whilst she is using the harness it is too much of a fiddle to attempt to recline the seat (this would also be a faff if you wanted to move it between vehicl ...
