have just returned from a night at 'the settle'. at first we were unsure about going as there was no website and from the outside it looked like a closed down cafe. however, we went inside and asked to look at the restaurant. upstairs there is a very stylish and spacious dining area. the waitress was very friendly but not intrusive. the food was superb.. absolutely delicious. afterwards we spent time in the lounge area, which was a great opportunity to speak to other diners and have the most... Frankly I think that The Settle, Frome is incredible value along with unbeliveable food. It has it all - service, wonderful imaginative food and fair prices. Difficult to fault. (read more)

The Settle is a lovely place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle and forget about the credit crunch and that sort of thing. Its lovely sitting in there eating cake and drinking tea, its very welcoming and a happy environment, also its lovely seeing all of the little old ladies in there drinking tea an gossiping. This was all noted on our last visit to The Settle on Saturday 12/1/'08 just after midday -
1. No salt on the table.
2. No serviettes.
3. No menus.(waited 5 mins. & fetched some from nearby table)
4. No butter for roll with soup.
5. No spoon for soup.
6. No dessert offered
