Awesome pistol for a springer, very comfortable grip if you have large hands. The inside plunger broke within a few days of owning it, but can be repaired with ease using epoxy resin. Strips like the real thing, easy to mod. Very accurate and has decent power. Tokyo Marui HK MK23 is totaly worth the cash !!! (read more)

Hi! my first time to write in a review. And it's about my favorite pistol the Tokyo Marui HK MK23. I actually got the kit that comes with a suppressor and a lam unit. The lam unit is not that bright cause the bulb behind it is just a white light LED and a small red LED as a mock laser pointer. I tried putting in a laser inside replacing the red LED but it crashed and burned. I'm gonna try to replace the white LED with a 3watt LED so it will have at least 60 lumens of visible light to power... (read more)

OK then, this is my first Airsoft review so take heed.
My Tokyo Marui HK MK23 Airsoft gun was bought for a princely sum of £32. Out of the box it comes with 100 .25 Marui bbs, magazine, and gun. Having only ever owned rubbish £5 guns before it was quite a shock. The first thing that hits you is the size. This gun is LARGE. It almost looks over-sized. I'm 6ft and it's almost too large to comfortably hold.
The magazine is easy to load and insert. The slide pulls back in three stages. The...

Hi, thanks for a good review, would have been nice to know what range your shooting experiences were at!. I also have this model, and agree with your comments, also having AEG and Gas models, your right, springers cant really compete if your into serious Airsoft, but for backyard plinking its ideal! I shoot at 15 yards and consistently hit a metal tin lid about 8 inches diameter with it.
To fill in a few more details, this is the Tokyo Marui (a respected brand for airsoft), hop up, spring powered pistol, expect to pay between 25 to 40 pounds for one. It is based on the US Heckler and Koch HK MK23 (SOCCOM) pistol that the special forces use. Magazine capacity is around 18 rounds, use 0.2 gram or 0.25 gram BBs, good quality if you can afford it, and dont forget to be sensible when shooting and wear eye protection!
thanks

Also forgot to mention that this pistol has a take down feature, whereby by removing the pin in the centre of the gun, you can strip it down for cleaning, relubing etc, i did mine and now it shoots even better and the cocking action is MUCH smoother.

Sorry this isnt related to this particular pistol But do any of you know of a 1 joule power pistol? I want it to be spring though as I dont want to faff about with gas.

A good quality pistol is wanted, Price isnt really an object aslong as it doesn't cost more than £150 in which case I may aswell get one of those sniper rifles instead.

Hi Deadeye, can't think of any 1 joule pistols, think they pretty much max out at 0.5 joules or less- for lots more reviews and power levels visit 'just pistols' on the internet: http://www.justpistols.co.uk/
If this guy doesn't know, don't know who would! Bear in mind, the power levels of many pistols is exaggerated in adverts, if you really want the extra power, a cheap airpistol may fit the bill better as it will be more accurate and between 3 and 8 joules (up to 6 ft/lbs), obviously you can't use that at a n airsoft game though. Hope that helped, Neil.

I purchased my Tokyo Marui HK MK23 gun 4 months ago and I just haven't put it down. It's great! It's the most accurate gun I have ever used (with 0.25g bbs)
I would recommend it to someone who is looking for a good quality reliable gun

I got a Tokyo Marui HK MK23 about two years ago for £38 and it still works like brand new! I have had many airsoft guns before and I have to say this is the best. It is single shot spring powered so you do have to cock it between shots but that's not the end of the world. The packaging is very nice and the gun itself looks and feels like a dream. The hop up system works well and it has an impressive range. Fires heavyweight .25g BBs at about 235fps which is pretty damn good for airsoft. It... (read more)

This is a very good airsoft gun and is easy to get when i ordered it it took about 4 - 5 days till i recieved it it was in a brown parcel type bag i ripped it open and found myself looking at a black(mostly)thin card board lid covered in a picture of the gun and a lot of japanese i lifted open the lid and i saw first the manuals not to any use of mine considering they were in japanese i moved them out the way and saw the gun(HK MK23 Pistol) i took it out along with the magazine and put some... This gun sounds good, but when you shoot do you have to keep on clocking back or can you repeatedly shoot

The Tokyo Marui Mk.23 is a spring pistol so you have to cock it every time you shoot it.

For the not-well-heeled:

Anyone not too picky about the finish and fine detail of their pistol could consider the CO2-powered Crosman 338 available for £19,95 from J S Ramsbottom.

This is the cheapest CO2 pistol I know of and having owned and frequently used one for nearly 2 years, I find it reliable and reasonably accurate.
