At least once a year I have to do something with my domains / hosting / DNS or some other technical piece that I have no interest in learning enough to become competent at. Domain Monster consistently bail me out when I break stuff. They have always been prompt, polite and more than willing to just fix the problem rather than point me at some FAQ where I would have to try and figure it out myself (and probably break it more). “Criminals”

They store your credit card and do not let you remove it. They make charges without notification via email. You are unable to redirect your domain name (which you own) to a nameserver... they charge this as a "product" which you must buy... what use is a domain name if you can't direct it to a host?! I have been in comms with them for over 5 months trying to get my domain back off them after they let the renewal lapse and put me through months of not replying to my emails... delayaing it long… Read Full Review

April from Domainmonster.com Support here. I'm sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience with us. I just wanted to answer a couple of your points.

Although it is a condition of having an account with us that you must have valid payment details on file, we always get in touch on multiple occasions before we process any payments. If a product is set to auto renew we email you three times letting you know (unless you have manually disabled certain reminders - however we will always email you at least once). All these emails are copied into your control panel too, and we place the "Auto Renew Status" in bright yellow at the top of the page if you're managing the product. The process is also outlined fully in our Ts and Cs - but we go beyond that to try and make sure you are aware!

Pointing your domain name to another host, either by changing Nameservers or individual DNS records, is completely free and is not a chargeable service. If you're having trouble doing this, please just get in touch and we can help.

Regarding the non response to your enquiries: This is definitely a concern, as this is not at all usual. Unless there are extremely extenuating circumstances, wait times for a response are no longer than a few hours. Again, I would encourage you to get in touch with us so we can discuss this further and find out what happened.
