We have are being royally ripped by Sygma bank over a mistake of theirs. Our card is paid in full EVERY month without fail. The card was misplaced so it was cancelled and they sent a new one out. Next thing we know the next payment didn't go through and we are getting charged £20, plus now a further £8 for going in arrears. We contacted nat west who informed us the direct debit was stopped on instructions from sigma then reinstated. We have spoken to sigma who after 45 minutes agreed it... (read more)

I only had the asda money card one week and had a cash withral. Then on the same day I had another cash withral it retaind my card the next morning I called they can not give me a replacement card because they had something from the criedit agency up against me (read more)

I have a perfect credit rating and over the past year I applied three times to asda credit card only to be declined with no reason, I have seen all my credit reports and they are clean so don't even bother to apply.They are simply a waste of time. (read more)

Don't bother with ASDA CREDIT CARD. But if you have made that error ..Please make sure you check your statements. I have had a 1000.00 transfer added to my account that had not been completed. transfer dated April 15th showed up on junes statement. I was attracted to the 1% cashback at asda as it is our local supermarket. I set up my direct debit to take the whole amount owed every month. I received a statement with a total amount due but as myself and my wife use the account, she transfers her share to me and I knock it off the statement balance, thinking the statement balance, less my payment would be taken on the 21st of the month. A few months ago I was switched from my Asda Santander card to the Asda Creation card and issued a new card and pin. Unfortunately, and I accept full responsibility for this, I locked my card by using the wrong pin. When I rang up customer services I was told I would received the pin within 4 weeks at the latest. This option was available between 18.03.2013 and 15.04.2013 0% interest for 6 months on purchases over £300.00 This would be ok if you don't use the card again for 6 months.. If you make other purchases afterwards and only pay off part of the outstanding balance on the statement ie leaving £300.00 outstanding you will have an interest charge on the whole outstanding balance on the statement even within the six months. Don't ring these expensive numbers always check out the above webpage. It works in 9 out of 10 cases. It cant hurt to try! Ive just got an asda credit card purely to get free deliveries. I pay their bill immediately and so far so good. I will be on the look out now for any interest fees charged! (read more)

Its one of the worst credit card I ever had. It doesn't deliver what it says. Don't get lured by 1 Percent cashback, its a trap and the customer will end up paying more interest. The statement itself so confusing, it doesn't show up separately balance transfer and purchases made with clear information. The old Asda credit card (Santander) with cashback were far better than present one(Creations). (read more)

I have a new Asda Credit Card - I am currently sat on hold waiting for my call to be answered by their call centre. The phone has rung constantly now for over 30 minutes - costing me 10p per minute I hasten to add. I have received no statement from them so no idea how much I owe and cannot get through to the call centre to establish how my payment due. Absolutely terrible service. (read more)

If you use the ASDA Money card for anything but Balance Transfers be wary they charge interest on purchases from day 1 even if you pay off purchases by due date. When asked why interest payable if Balance Transfer amount which gets 12 months 0% is only amount due they say interest chargeable on purchases and any payment made is taken off purchases, so in my book interest should be nil? I must be getting old, needless to say Card has been destroyed! (read more)

Asda charge fees for late payment because they have not set uep their end of a direct debit, but they are trying to charge llatea payment fees 20 to days prior to due payment date, I have bills to prove it. Don't use them unless you have to it will cost you dearly. (read more)

I was forced to change to the new ASDA money card as the old one was being dis-continued. Since taking out the new card I have had nothing but problems trying to set up a direct debit to pay the balance off in full each month. They failed to set it up after a phone call and cancelled my card because the payment was not received. The first I knew of this was when my card was declined at the checkout. I originally opened my Asda card in 2002, it then some years later changed to Santander. The benefits with this card reduced including my credit limit for no reason, but it wasn't too much of a problem to me. My 86year old mother has been turned down for the new Asda card. They cite insufficient information to make a decision on how she would operate a credit facility and suggest that she look at how to improve her credit rating! She has had the old ASDA Reward card since 2006 and paid in full every month, with only ever a maximum of £80 total credit used in a month – hardly a bad credit risk! The ASDA credit card I have is the one provided by Santandar with the 1p off per litre on fuel. I have been using this card sine 2008 and have always paid on time and never paid interest. ASDA have since decided that they don't want to work with Santandar anymore so their new card is provided by Creation and Sygma Bank UK and give cashback instead. I have had an Asda Credit Card for about 18 months, everything was fine, received a leaflet/news letter announcing a new card, that's all. I had a asda credit card for a long time just for buying petrol, it was paid every month, and then I lost it, after phoning India and trying to understand them they cancelled it, thats when the problems started, three cards and three different pin numbers later (non worked)all I want to do is talk to someone in this country and resolve the problem, I now pay for my petrol with a debit card, hence the scissors, my advice is dont bother. When my old card began to approach its expiry date no new card appeared before the date (as is the norm). I contacted the company (India!!)and the answer was that it would arrive in 4 -6weeks.The card failed to arrive and required further contacts to sort it. It did finally arrive but some time after the old card had expired. This led to some regular payments from the card failing, resulting in my being charged non payment fees by the various companies! I had an Asda credit card basically for the 2p off petrol. Last Christmas, at the Asda checkout my card was suddenly refused causing me great embarrassment. My account was paid in full each month by direct debit, but for some unknown reason the Santander computer system 'lost' my bank details. I have had this card for over 5 years and not had 1 problem until I came to pay via the phone in August and the automated sevrice would not give me an authorisation code and transferred me to a call centre not in the UK at a guess. I closed my Asda card and moved to Devon from Kent. Have just been told that because we forgot to cancel a yearly standing order we are faced with a bill for £200, the original bill was for £80 but it has taken them 10 months to find us so the interest has been added on. If a bank account is closed then it is CLOSED. The company who wanted £80 deducted from my card should have been told our account was closed and the company could either find us or close our policy. ASDA should be ashamed of having their name next to this service which effectively is provided by Santander now. I took out this card over three years ago. The deal was that ASDA guareented they would always have a 0% balance transfer offer on the card. I know this because I used it twice and paid off the debt back to zero swiftly. Missed a payment last month (can't find statement - we may of lost it).
5 days after the payment due date they block the card leaving my son stranded in London without any money. Customer services unhelpful and obstructive - paid £600 immediately by Faster Payment so will have hit their collection account while I was on the phone. UTTER GARBAGE...IF YOU HAVE ANY SENSE AVOID.
Asda Card has just lost all my points for the last year and refuse to accept evidence from their own statements of my entitlement.
Asda charged me twice for late payments in one month even though my balance was in credit.
Asda sent my new card to my old address even though I left over 2 years ago.
Asda refuses to reimburse out of pocket expenses.
Asda request you write to them.

Have had the Asda credit card for several years and did not experience any problems. Last Npvember they upgraded their system - have had no card since and massive inconvenience and problems.

Was ok until Santander took over I used it to pay everything and paid off each month and in previous years made about 80 to 100 pounds in loyalty points. Santander run this account. 10p per minute to call Customer Service, long messages and options plus requesting silly information (i.e. my bank details to send me a cheque in case cheque gets lost!) makes this expensive call. Never replied to 2 letters and could have kept credit balance indefinitely if hadn't phoned. Account was closed in error twice. Off-shore customer service with scripts - very annoying and terrible service. (read more)

Asda Credit Card = Absolute biggest joke of all Cards.
1. Got billed for late payment and yet my account was cleared in full 15 days before due date.
2. Even after payment they took minimum payment from my Bank account by direct debit.
3. Asda card send my new card AND PIN to my old address even though I have left the old property for over 13 months. Luckily the old Lady who now occupies my old address forwarded them to me.

The card was fine while I was using it however, when I wanted to cancel the account it was a different story. I am still trying 6 months on and have just received new cards (which I am not going to use). The call centre is in India and if your query is "off their script" you've got no chance. Like other reviewers, my partner and I both got an Asda credit card because of the 2p per litre petrol discount. And like other reviewers, we have noticed an increased decline in customer services since Santander took over management of the card.
My partner has just closed his account due to the bad service he received. He had problems with the account ever since he received his renewal card last year - although activated, the card was declined. It was reactivated, and declined again. ... (read more)

I totally agree with all the other reviewers in that the whole concept of customer service seems to have bypassed Santander and ASDA. Neither company on their High Street outlets want to take ownership of any problems / disputes and fob you off with the highly expensive and useless customer service helpline. Again, 1 star awarded only because I can't give it nothing. The benefits of this card are not worth the hassle of having it. (read more)

Steer well clear of this card. Service has gone downhill since Santander took over.I have had nothing but problems since late last year when Santander used my direct debit to claim paymentdespite the fact that I had already been on line and paid it. Asda credit as operated by Santander is hopeless. They charge late fees in error and take ages to rectify, their high street branches refuse to take payments and Lloyds Bank no longer act on their behalf for making over the counter payments.Customer service is in some far off country and the representatives are infuriating. Woe is me.
I have had this Card for over 4 years. At the time I opened the account GE were running it. The priority for me was the fuel price reduction received when using the Card. Now, I am in the loyalty scheme.
In the 4 years I have had the account I have never had so much as a missed payment and pay my account in full every month.
I use(d) my Asda card for everything, so always made them money from the transaction fees levied.

Have had to contact customer services numerous times to correct address details and been left near to tears with shear frustration! I have been told i have not passed security checks due to them not understanding me dispite having a pretty standard English accent. It took me over 20 minutes to actually speak to someone who was based in the uk. Lets just say initial balance transfer promotion was the only positive aspect of this card. (read more)

Santander are absolutely rubbish at administering Asda Credit Card. Their customer service is diabolical and they do not answer any e mail queries.
I recently swopped my credit card to Asda and was very pleased with the monetary reward I get when shopping at Asda.

I have had an Asda credit card now for 4 years, originally opened so that I could get a discount on petrol. Each month it is paid in full. No problem at all until December 2010 when my card was suddenly refused in my local Asda store in full view of other shoppers. It was again refused a few days later by Amazon.
