Good Points: Overall Design. Simplicity to use.
Bad Points: lens assembly.
General comments: Several people have received error 31, and some have received errors 33. These relate to problems with the motors to control the movement of the lens and the lens assembly itself.
These are problems that are not easily fixed (Possibly a money maker for HP repairs?) and can occur at any time - and several people complain of this problem being outside the cameras 1 year warranty period.
The bad assembly of this camera has caused me several problems, relating to not being able to take the picture as the lens didn't reflect the image properly resulting in a totally black picture, normally resolved with a sharp tap to the assembly. However, this has proved ineffective after so many times.
I would recommend a Sony Camera in preference to this one - you get a lot better quality for the price, probably at the loss of features or mega pixel rating.

I bought the HP PhotoSmart M627 camera almost a year ago and overall I am very pleased with it. Picture quality is great and it is sturdy and very easy to use (even my 3 year old uses it sometimes). Can't go wrong for the price.
