The important thing with this gun is after 2 to 5000 shells, depending on how it's cared for, is change the o rings!!!! Mine was acting up bad, after years of being not cared for as well as it should have. My brother in law said he knew the problem. He put in a few $8 o rings in less than an hour, and now it'll shoot all 5 or 6 inch shells FAST. If u turn the gun to where the shells eject upwards, you can fire all the shells before the first one hits the ground. It's a great shooting gun now, I… Read Full Review

I'm using target loads, got this used from a friend that have put a couple of hundreds on it hunting, and me and my friends we have put like 1000 shells on it so far and there are no problems, i'm not cleaning the guns every other day, just use and put them back in the safe, I've scored a couple of 25's with it, using federal gun club (cheap ammo) the main use for this gun is to allow my friends to shoot with something cheap that i'm not afraid to have broken. I've Berettas AL391 and 682 and… Read Full Review

my grandpa sent me a charles daly field tactical. it is a real piece!! i have had the fireing pin replaced 3 times in this gun and both of the springs replaced and i dont even have 100 rounds shot through the gun!! i am a big duck hunter in colorado and this gun has a hard time ejecting the shell in the cold colorado weather. i just got another problem i need a new forearm for it becausue the berrel slips on recoil. this gun is terrible save your money for a browning or a benelli, i promise… Read Full Review

Bought a CD (Charles Daly) field for defense.....
First CD I have ever purchased. I bought it at a gun show new in box....What a mistake.
It was the CD or a mossberg 500 for 50 bucks more, since I already had a Moss 500 I figured I would try the CD.
I have had numerous load/feed issues with the gun. A few times the gun jammed with a live shell in the chamber and would not pump/ eject the shell due to a second shell "Pre-loading" and slipping out of the magazine tube which then jammed up the… Read Full Review

This Gun is very light for a 12 ga and fun to shoot...as for the rest of these reviews go you can tell who the real gun owners are and those who really know about guns...lol and semi auto needs the spring and ammo used most to be paired together for best performance and yes you have to clean the vacuum ports and the barrel...not just the barrel..if youre only going to shoot cheap ammo you should think about getting a low recoil spring duh...and yes a choke helps too FYI. This gun is definately… Read Full Review

To the one shooter who said he had to hold the fore end FORWARD I can only assume you are talking about the Charles Daly PUMP shotgun because pushing forward on a semi auto would have no effect whatsoever on the function. This review is for the SEMI AUTO and not the pump.
Just like any item there are going to be bad ones. With some products there may be more bad ones than good ones. I purchased a Charles Daly Semi auto 12 gauge from Walmart last year because I didn't want to spend a tremendous… Read Full Review

This is the best gun for pure knock around hunting in my arsenal. Never has failed me, and it has withstood everything from being dropped, to being shut in the truck gate (darn kid!!!)). I have hunted turkey, goose, upland, duck AND dove with it. Sad to see others are nothaving the same luck I am, however I would still recomend this gun to anyone. Will it win you some skeet/trap shoots? Probably not. Will it put game on the tabe? You bet… Read Full Review

DO NOT BUY THIS GUN!!! It is a cheap P.O.S... I owned mine for 5 days, took it up to the range, loaded it up, pulled the trigger... nothing! After breaking it down and checking it, I did find any problems. I put it back together, loaded her up...."click." Come to find out, it would only shoot if you pushed the forend forward WHILE pulling the trigger (not how things are suppose to work).
Then after about 11 rounds, I went to load and rack the 12th round... and I racked the entire barrel right… Read Full Review

I purchased the tactical auto loader. The gun is not reliable. Very fussy on what it will eject. The biggest issue is when I got the gun it was chock full of metal shavings and cutting oil. I have never seen anything like it. I call the Daly customer service for help on the gun and told them the manual does not cover this model. He could care less with his attitude, sounded like he owned the place. Since I was only going to stick it under the mattress for HD. I decided the best thing for me… Read Full Review

Easy to clean easy to shoot and has never failed to work. Period. allI can say is they are well worth the price of this gun. Just because its a daly dosnt make it Junk and thos that do are missing a fine shotgun. Over all for the price this is the gun to choose it beats taking a 2000.00 dollar gunout that your afraid to use! This gun has it it all rugged goodlooks and it never fails to shoot. I clean my guns immediately after I shoot any of them which I have found will make a difference in inexpensive weapons. This gun has never had any problems and I can shoot 38 out of 50 at the trap range, which is good for me. For the price it is an excellent value. I have shot 3" steel at geese and it ejected and loaded every time. A friend of mine has one and has had problems with 3" shells not ejecting. That is the only issues he has had… Read Full Review

I bought one of the Charles Daly 12ga Field semi autos to replace my over and under 12ga that I used for skeet, sporting clays and turkey. While a Charles Daly is no where near a high end gun, it is great for the budget minded shooter that doesnt want to spend an arm and a leg to go out and have a good time at the gun club. So far I have shot 1 oz skeet loads and some normal Remington game loads with the gun with absolutely zero jams or malfunctions. I have broken the gun in properly and have… Read Full Review

First I had the buffer plug shatter. I called Charles Daly and after 6 weeks they sent me another one with out any instruction of how to put it in. I put it in. Then the handle broke on the action, after about a half box of shells. I sent it back to Charles Daly and after a long period of time they sent it back. The next season I used it, and it broke again. Now I am stuck with this worthless shot gun. I bought it at Walmart and the will not take it back. Nor will charles Daly refund me my… Read Full Review

I have had my Charles Daly for 2 years and it has been the worst gun i have ever owned. I wouldn't recommend it to any dove or duck hunter. This past duck season, i was about 1/2 mile back in some flooded timber when the gun blew the extractor pen and the shell extractor completely out of the gun. Contacted Charles Daly and it took them a week to return my call and three more weeks to send me the parts. When dove season came around it done the exact same thing with a real light shell. Needless… Read Full Review

The gun shoots great when shooting a dove load or a light 3" shell. But when shooting a 3" mangum for example, it will shoot and eject, but it will not rechamber the second shot. support at charles daly, well, It stinks. and all the local gun shops will not even work on one… Read Full Review
