I found a hi point jcp 40 at a local pawn shop and me and my son went to go try it out it preformed great no problems and the action work very well we hit the targets at 5 yard and up to 25 yards and it had a tight pattern had very little recoil and quick to target after each shot. I have always been a fan of the hi-poing line up I carry my .40 jcp s&w with me every where i go. I never jams but i will grant the fact that if you use hollow points that are of name brand you might accure a jam or two but that says alot. becuase again it has never jammed on me at all fire completly accurate. I have shot red pills and blue pills out of it my gun fired just fine did not blow up on me. So when it comes down to the weight and accurace and trigger pound of pressure this gun... (read more)

I've heard people on other sites claim these guns jammed after the second shot, I bought 1 of these in 2005 as a first handgun and have put several boxes of ammo threw my gun in the 3 years that I've had it without a single jamb accuring, for the price and accuracy this gun is very hard to beat, I like it so much my next hand gun purchase will be a highpoint modle C9 9MM compact. For the money, the Hi-Point JCP .40S&W's are great weapons. Are there better out there, yes. Are there a lot worse, absolutely. They're one of the few great bargains left out there and they are made in the USA. How many of the high price models can say that? (read more)

The first thing that will strike you when doing research on this particular brand is the people raving about what great guns these are, and the other people ranting how bad they are but you will often discover that the people ranting about Hi-Points never actually shot it.

Another thing you will undoubtfully hear is their great customer service, if your gun breaks down due to use or abuse you simply send it to the factory and you will get your gun back completely rebuild with the latest... (read more)
