    Good Points: 500GB - wow!
    Sleek, black case.
    Stackable.
    Gb per $ ratio is very good.
    Shuts down with computer, and turns on with computer. Power button is easy to access.


    Bad Points: No fan. For a 500Gb drive, it makes me wonder, though it still runs cool.
    -USB transfer speed is SLOW, even on USB 2.
    -You can't swap hard drives out, but that's not a big deal. It would still be cool though, being that the case is nice.
    The software is garbage! Don't install it.


    General comments: Overall, the Western Digital My Book Essential 500Gb is a great piece of hardware. USB transfer speeds were slow, but worked.

    I had to format it to NTFS. The software is total garbage, and it's just Google software, and not useful at all.
