I recently had an excellent meal here. The service was much better than I have experienced elsewhere in Ambleside and the food delicious. I'd recommend it to anybody looking for a refine yet relaxed night out.

Once a year I get a group of friends together to do some Cumbrian walking. On the Saturday in Ambleside we try to do a great meal out. So far we've tried the Glasshouse 3 times, which was mostly great, but on each occasion, one out of 8 main courses was not up to the price. On the last trip we tried The Log House, and with 8 big chaps from London, I was nervous that it wouldn't be as good as the Glasshouse. How wrong! It was an exceptional meal with excellent service. I fully recommend it. Every ...

The Log House, Ambleside is our favourite restaurant in the Lakes!

The actual restaurant/ambience is just lovely. We've always felt comfortable there. The crisp white linen, polished glasses ensure you feel what a treat you're having! It's not in the least bit stuffy though, as the staff are so very friendly and welcoming. We've always got a parking space outside, and have enjoyed lots of leisurely meals there. Every single thing we've ordered has been wonderful - from the gorgeous bread & dip ...

The Log House was one of my best dining experiences in years! Staff were extremely friendly even though they were run off their feet all evening. I started with one of the best Bloody Marys I've had away from home and just knew I was onto a winner. For starter I shared Crispy Chilli Squid with my partner and it was lovely and soft with a sweetness that astonished me. For main course I had lamb with creme fraiche mash, fresh asparagus, pesto sauce and a beautiful juice. I felt as if I'd died and ...

Overall my visit to the log house on the saturday 1.2.08 was rather pleasant. I did not have to wait long for my food to arrive and when it did it was of a very high standard. The waitress was extremely good - she was chatty and made me feel very welcome and also made an effort to make sure we were ok and content with everything. We will certainly be back

After reading many positive reviews I booked a table at the Log House restaurant. The restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere but we found the staff rather unhelpful.

For starters I had the bread with dips and my partner had the goats cheese tartlet. His was rather bland and I found two hairs in my starter! After I found the first hair I asked for a new pot of dip assuming that this is where the hair had come from. After the second hair we realised they were actually in the bread. We politel ...

We called into the the Log House in Ambleside on the off chance that we could dine there on a Saturday evening, although the restaurant only had one other table being used we were asked if we had booked. The staff happily shown us to a table overlooking a field at the back of the restaurant. Externally and internally the Log house is very well presented and has a modern rustic Italian feel to it.
