It's difficult to decide which was the best aspect of our stay but we think it's perhaps the excellent staff or then again the superb food, which is not all curry as read in other reviews elsewhere, there is a good choice. The whole nation in general are a happy lot and none more so than the hotel staff, the ladies of Sri Lanka look quite fierce at times but when they smile it's like the sun coming out. We enjoyed the difference at the Beruwala Tropical Villas in Sri Lanka from the standard soulless we-could-be-anywhere hotel, and the unique pleasure of sitting on our large balcony nearly level with the trees, watching and listening to the varied bird life and the monitor lizard and mongoose etc. The "toddy tappers" climb the palm trees every day to tap the coconut sap for making Arak.
The enjoyable water and land excursions are recommended to surrounding points of interest.

A very good value holiday suitable for any age. It's got a fabulous pool and safe gardens. Not a lot to do in the evenings although entertainment is provided some nights. A good beach very close by but hotel does not open directly onto it access is a short walk along a road and through another hotel gardens. Scheduled flights with Air Sri Lanka were a difinate bonus and added a touch of luxury to the holiday even in economy! A gift of a bouquet of orchids on departure made us all feel really...
