Good Points: There is a gem waiting to be found (in the cellar!) within this book that makes it worth-while seeing it through - a horror story within a horror story. Once you find this gem you will be glad that you stuck with it. King definately takes you on a journey (well quite a few actual) and in turn making you want to know more with each page that is turned.
Bad Points: The first couple of chapters I found to be very jumpy while also dragging at the same time. Finding myself tangled and lost within the pages. Yet at the same time enjoying the remarkable descriptive and demonstrative writing of King, knowing that if I stick with it, it will be worth it in the end!
General comments: Lisey suffers the loss of her husband Scott, a famous author, a man she loved but a man who leaves her with questions that need answering a puzzle that needs solving and an aching heart that needs soothing.
Two years on Lisey finally has the courage to clear out Scott's study and as she does so she finds herself spiraled into a world of danger, pain, confusion but also answers.
Is Lisey strong enough without Scott by her side to delve into the unknown and find those missing pieces to the puzzle that she so seeks?
King cleverly brings together a very sensitive and emotional love story entertwined with a haunting horror of a read! With plenty of twists and turns!
This is no light read so get prepared to concentrate and be patient! You will be glad that you did!

Two years have passed since Lisey Landon's husband Scott died. While she mourned her loss and found an emptiness and loneliness with his demise, the outside world never gave her a moment of peace. Everyone from college professors to paparazzi to collectors pulled stunts to get the grieving widow to acquiesce to their demands to allow them to catalogue his papers and publish his final manuscripts. Scott was a rar ...- Read Harriet Klausner's review (314 words)
