“Colour given is not true”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Darkhairedmole on 28/02/2024

I used Light Blond. Now I have changed from blond to looking like a dark haired mole. It is a terrible shock. Horrid product. Colour on box bears no resemblance to reality. Hair feels like sandpaper. All shine gone. No address given for complaint I bought 4 boxes. Fortunately retailer listened to my horror story and reimbursed. Now I have to wash hair 24 times quickly to get rid of it. Steer clear of L'Oreal.

“618 vanilla mocha turns dark chocolate”

I wanted to blend the greys with my natural brown - but this dye made the whole lot dark brown and not glossy after half of the recommended developement time. Tried calling them for advice next time but they just cut me off each time without answering. Very poor customer service and not at all satisfied.

I wanted the caramel brown shade but it came out very black. I am now trying to bleach it out but it isn't budging. What happened?

I am in Spain and my hair is usually coloured light brown. It has gone very grey in the sun and I do not speak spanish so I have bought Casting Creme Gloss number 700. Will it be okay?

It should be fine, but you may find that it lightens your light brown somewhat so roots may be a prob & you will find that the greys simply look honey blonde...hope this helps,, but please also be aware that I am not a haircare professional & this is only my personal opinion.

I have been using the blackcurrant shade for almost 2 years. I bought the chocolate truffle shade today because I want a brown colour without being too dark. Does anyone know if this will be okay? I'ma bit nervous about it now.

Should be ok, probably won't show up much as the blackcurrant is a darker shade, but the roots (where the blackcurrant isn't) should definitely be mid brown. Hope this helps but please be aware that I AM NOT A HAIRCARE PROFESSIONAL & this is only my personal opinion.

I read an earlier review that says the lighter blonde shades are permanent - is this correct? I used 1013 Light Frosted Blonde.

Okay so I've dyed my hair light-honey- brown in a salon last year and now that it's been a year since I've dyed it my roots are black and when I close my hair it looks like half of my hair is black and the other half is brown and I want to try the casting creme gloss from L'Oreal and the colour I want is the 500. Will it be okay if I dye it or will my roots look darker than my entire hair? If yes, how can I avoid that? Please send tips for a hair that has grown after a previous dye!

If your hair is naturally black, you may need to go for a darker shade like 300 or 412 - If you decide to go for the shade 500, be sure to start at the roots and get someone else to apply for you so that it is even! The good thing is that if it does not come out like you want it to, you can always redo with a darker colour! However, since your roots are darker already, maybe you should look at a dip dye? That could look good since your ends are already lighter! This really is the in thing right now. I hope it works for you.

I am not a hairdresser, so this is only my personal opinion. Casting creme 500 is the medium brown, so it will darken the coloured hair to a medium brown colour, but it cannot lighten your roots, so the black will remain black & the brown will be medium brown I am guessing. Your roots may appear, on close up scrutiny, slightly darker, but most people's hair is slightly darker at the roots so I would see no problem in using this shade. :) Good Luck & Happy Colouring!!

I don't think it will be a problem. Casting creme gloss does tend to be a bit on the darker side, but I doubt your roots will be much darker than the rest of your hair. As the other person replying has said, the casting creme gloss will not lighten your hair. I think it is worth the try, it will for sure smooth out you hair color and make it uniform. Best of luck!
