    Good Points: Tabbed windows
    Easily and fully customisable
    Multi-lingual; Queen's English, Cymraeg, etc.
    Quick.
    It's worth it just for the simple pop-up and ad blocker.
    And it's free.


    Bad Points: Inherits IE's known security weaknesses, but with decent internet security and IE updates the risk is small.


    General comments: The Avant Browser 10.2 is what IE really should be like, with tabbed windows and ad and pop-up blocks. It's also a delight to see colour, centre, favourites, &c spelt correctly. Two clicks and all the menus are in another language, e.g Welsh.

    Download it from www.avantbrowser.com and install it. IE is left untouched.
    If you don't like the "skin", others can be downloaded or you can create your own.

    Once you start using Avant, you'll find IE inadequate.
    Try it - you'll like it.

    I have used the Avant browser combination for years (IE6 + Avant), and I have found it to be the quickest and most stable browser out there. It is very easy to customize with heaps of skins etc. it has tabbed browsing and many options, including multiple search engines included. I realize that IE6 - 7 has security problems compared to Mozilla Firefox, but as Firefox becomes more popular this will soon change (popularity has already soared to over 30%).
